Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Terrifying Spirit Type

After a round of selection, Su Xiao chose a residence. That afternoon, he arrived at the community where the residence was located.

This was a slightly shabby community on the outskirts of the city, but fortunately, the transportation was fairly convenient.

The community seemed a bit deserted, with only a few elderly people gathered together playing chess.

Old communities are usually like this, with mostly elderly people, but the greenery here is good. Compared to the polluted air in the city center, it’s noticeably better here.

From a distance, Su Xiao saw a young man in a suit, seemingly waiting for something, occasionally looking at his wrist.

Su Xiao approached, and the young man noticed his approach, his eyes brightening as he quickly came forward.

”Hello, are you Mr. Su? I’m Little Ji, an agent from Sunshine Housing Network.”

Su Xiao nodded. He was using the alias Su Xiao, which had a legal identity complete with ID card, train tickets, phone cards, and other items, all under this name.

In this era, without a legal identity, it’s practically impossible to get by.

”That’s me. Take me to see the house.”

Agent Little Ji’s attitude immediately warmed up and he began to introduce the housing to Su Xiao.

”Mr. Su, to be honest, the monthly rent of 800 is a very reasonable price. With the current housing market in DL City, if you have the funds, buying this residence is also a great choice...”

The enthusiastic introduction began, and Su Xiao replied with a smile.

He wouldn’t buy the place. With his status as a fugitive, how long he can stay here is uncertain, always ready to flee.

From Reincarnation Paradise’s perspective, they don’t seem to want Contractors interfering with the real world. This might be the foundation for Reincarnation Paradise.

According to Su Xiao’s previous observations, most Contractors should come from the real world, which is why Reincarnation Paradise avoids their interference in it.

As Su Xiao pondered, he arrived in front of the apartment’s door.

”Here it is, Mr. Su, please enter.”

Agent Little Ji opened the door quickly, seeming slightly rushed.

”Do you have something urgent to attend to?”

Su Xiao observed Agent Little Ji’s expression. The other party showed no abnormalities, just some urgency.

”No, I just need to pee urgently, sorry, Mr. Su.”

Su Xiao entered the room, greeted by a spacious living room, nicely decorated with a cozy style, very suitable for long-term residence.

He glanced around the room, noting the good ventilation and sunlight. All the facilities were in place, requiring no additional preparations for moving in.

Tapping on the walls, Su Xiao roughly judged the thickness. Walls in such old communities are generally thick, indicating good sound insulation.

”Not bad, I’ll rent it.”

Agent Little Ji looked delighted; it was a performance.

”All right, Mr. Su. Due to the favorable price, the shortest lease is a year. Here’s the contract, have a look.”

Su Xiao reviewed the contract. With no issues, he paid, signed, and officially rented the place.

After everything was settled, Agent Little Ji and Su Xiao exchanged polite farewells, but the agent’s next actions were odd.

Agent Little Ji first opened the door, ensuring no one was in the corridor, and then quickly left.

This scene caught Su Xiao’s attention; he’d already found this agent peculiar.

Now it seemed the problem wasn’t with the apartment, but perhaps there were people in this building that the agent feared.

”Interesting.”

Su Xiao chuckled softly. Previously, he’d encountered a property with a ten-thousand rent, which was already bizarre, and now he’s moved into an ’extraordinary’ community.

But Su Xiao didn’t care. As a fugitive himself, would he fear anyone else? Absurd.

Sitting on the living room sofa, Su Xiao suddenly didn’t know what to do.

He’d already killed his last enemy, the last one he could find. Now in a foreign city, revenge could only be postponed, a reluctant choice.

Even with non-human strength, it didn’t mean he could act recklessly.

Revenge wasn’t something to rush; he’d already waited three years, so what’s a little more time?

Moreover, Su Xiao believed that as his strength grew, he’d find more ways to locate his enemies.

Calming down, Su Xiao began planning for the future.

With a stable residence found, the next step was waiting for Reincarnation Paradise’s summons, to strengthen himself within it.

”Vrrr~ Vrrr.”

The phone suddenly vibrated; someone was calling Su Xiao, though he wasn’t in the habit of using ringtones.

Picking up the phone, it showed an ’unknown number.’ Su Xiao answered but said nothing.

”Friend, I’ve been waiting for you a long time, why haven’t you arrived?”

Su Xiao’s eyes narrowed slightly; it was the voice of the man from the ten-thousand rent call.

”Too troublesome to rent your place, hanging up.”

Saying this, Su Xiao acted as if he would hang up.

”Wait.” The voice on the other end was slightly urgent, and Su Xiao’s finger paused mid-air.

”Friend, we’re all risking our lives in Paradise, how about we meet?”

Su Xiao sprung to his feet; the mention of Paradise made him think of Reincarnation Paradise.

”Not interested.”

Su Xiao’s voice was calm, but he suddenly sensed something abnormal. Why had he called that number before?

Even though he wasn’t short on money, ten-thousand rent was absurd now that he thought about it. He wasn’t a fool with money to burn.

Thoughts churned in his mind, and at that moment, Su Xiao realized there might be an issue with that rental ad. He’d inexplicably called the number, thinking at the time that ten thousand wasn’t much and that the house must be great quality.

In retrospect, it’s utterly unreasonable.

Hypnosis? No, Su Xiao immediately dismissed the notion. He’d seen hypnosis before; it wasn’t this miraculous. The ad was more like some psychological suggestion.

”Don’t be ungrateful; come see me, or I’ll end you sooner or later.”

The man on the phone started to issue blatant threats.

”The hyena’s wail, harsh words are spoken when stepping on an enemy’s head, not over the phone.”

With that, Su Xiao hung up, not worried at all about the other party tracing his location.

The phone he was using was high-end, capable of blocking tracking.

----------------

In a courtyard on the fringe of town, a burly man with a bare chest sat on a small stool, gripping the phone in rage with a twisted face.

”Old Wu, has headquarters tracked the phone’s location?”

The burly man’s roar tugged at his face covered in scars.

A thin figure dashed out from a nearby room.

”Boss, the other party is significant, completely blocking the trace, possibly military. Headquarters’ response is to drop it.”

Scarface’s eyes clearly turned ferocious.

”Drop it? Do you know how much Paradise coin I spent on that ad? A hefty 10,000, those spirit-type Mages, such rip-offs.”

Though Scarface said this, internally he’d half given up.

The ad was only visible to Contractors, and those with an Intelligence Attribute over 20 could resist it. The fact that the other party only called once indicated their Intelligence Attribute must be high.

If the other party were a Mage Lord~ Scarface felt a chill, unwilling to provoke Su Xiao further.

After Su Xiao signed a contract with Reincarnation Paradise, the true nature of the real world slowly came into view.

Although Reincarnation Paradise doesn’t support Contractors meddling in the real world, immense profits tempt some to take the risk.

What they don’t know is that there’s an existence within Reincarnation Paradise known as the Hunter, specializing in dealing with them.
