Reincarnated as a Lizard

Unaffected by the roar of the cave alligator, Scaly instead focused her attention on her competitors, who were similarly aiming to get the killing blow on the weakened cave alligator, but... Although she paid attention to them, she quickly noticed that none of them seemed to be paying any attention to her. Instead, all of their attention was focused on the large snake monsters that seemed to overshadow everyone else.

Hmph! Not only do they think that they can take away my prey, but they even dare ignore me!?

Feeling enraged at the fact that she had actually been ignored because of a slightly oversized worm, Scaly silently swore to herself that she would personally take care of the oversized worm after finishing off the cave alligator!

Ptsh!

However, before she could continue thinking about how to deal with the massive Yellow-Red Salamander Snake, the snake in question arrived at the side of the weakened cave alligator and began violently tearing into one of its open wounds. Almost like it was trying to force its way into its body and rip it apart from the inside.

Of course, the feeling of the snake tearing into its open wound and trying to force its way inside was a painful experience for the cave alligator-

ROAR-!

At the same time, it was also something that caused the cave alligator to draw upon all of its remaining strength to use one of its claws to forcibly pierce into the snake and drag it out of its wound before it could go too deep-

Riiiiiiip-!

And before the snake had any time to resist, it was forcibly torn in half by the cave alligator. Displaying just how much stronger it was even in its weakened state, while also getting rid of the most powerful monster attacking it in the process.

Wha- That... That was my prey!

Not having expected something like that to happen just after she decided on killing the snake, Scaly was rendered speechless as she momentarily came to a stop a short distance away from the cave alligator.

If not for the fact that the monsters aiming for the cave alligator had also frozen in shock due to the sudden death of the snake, the momentary shock might have ended up costing her the chance to land the killing blow on the cave alligator.

Rustle~

It was only when she heard the sound of one of the metal legged cave spiders rushing towards the cave alligator from behind her, that she returned to reality and used all of her strength to rush towards the cave alligator- Arriving directly in front of the cave alligator before any of the other monsters.

Roar...

Already too exhausted to continue fighting back, the cave alligator just let out a helpless roar as it saw Scaly appearing in front of it filled with killing intent.

Even if it wanted to struggle, it could do nothing but watch as Scaly’s claws were covered in a hazy blue glow before they came bearing down towards with the intent to kill-

PTSH-!

And without any suspense, the claws cleanly passed through the head of the exhausted cave alligator. Killing it on the spot without giving any of the other monsters the chance to land the killing blow.

Not even a second after killing the weakened cave alligator, a flood of notifications appeared in front of Scaly as she felt herself becoming stronger.

Roar!

Sssss~!

Rooar!

However, she didn’t have time to think about any of this at the moment, as the other monsters who had been aiming for the weakened cave alligator were less than pleased with the fact that someone other than themselves had managed to get the killing blow.

Not only that, but they were now more than eager to try and kill her to see if they might be able to get some of the experience, she had gotten from killing the cave alligator just now!

Whoosh~!

Understanding that this would be the case as well, Scaly made use of her increase in strength to rapidly escape into the rubble that covered the part of the cave that had been affected by the battle between the cave alligator and the cave troll.

Barely managing to escape before the large number of unhappy monsters had time to work together to encircle her-

Whoosh-!

Whoosh-!

Whoosh-!

And considering that the cave troll was still around to give them another chance, the monsters didn’t bother trying to search for her as they all began rushing towards the place where the cave troll was fighting. Hoping that they would be able to land the killing blow on the cave troll now that they had missed the chance to do so with the cave alligator.

”...”

Only after making sure that all of the monsters had left to make their way towards the cave troll, did Scaly dare to leave her temporary hiding spot and begin moving in the direction of the cave troll.

Even though she had been successful in landing the killing blow on the cave alligator and had the chance to evolve again, she didn’t want to give up the chance to land a killing blow on the cave troll. Especially after she had found out just how much exp she got from the cave alligator.

The only difference this time around compared to when she had been approaching the cave alligator was the fact that she didn’t dare to reveal herself while approaching the cave troll.

Not so much because she feared that the cave troll would notice her, but because she didn’t want to be seen by the monsters who had seen her landing the killing blow on the cave alligator.

Of course, this was not because she was afraid of them. No... It was just because she was worried that their attention might end up disrupting her plan of landing a killing blow on the cave troll...
