Reincarnated as a Lizard

Ah! It hurts so much!

Having made some distance between herself and the cave harvestman that had suddenly ambushed her, Scaly glared towards the spider in question filled with killing intent.

In her mind, Scaly had already decided to give it her all to kill the spider that had dared to ambush her!

Swish-!

However, just as Scaly was thinking about how she was going to deal with the cave harvestman that had ambushed her, the spider in question did not stand around waiting, as it charged directly towards Scaly. Not intending to give her any time to recover from the ambush!

Wha-!?

Not expecting her opponent to suddenly appear in front of her so quickly, Scaly was momentarily taken aback by the speed of the long-legged spider as its fangs headed directly for one of her legs without showing the slightest bit of mercy.

Water Ball!

Knowing that she had no time to dodge the attack and at the same time no time to use one of her stronger water magic spells, Scaly used the simple water ball spell that was by far the weakest among her water spells. Hoping that it would be enough to buy her some time to move out of the spider’s attack.

Whoosh~

As a small ball made out from water manifested directly in front of it, the spider had no time to react, as it was hit directly by the water ball conjured by Scaly.

Although it didn’t kill it, the water ball was far more powerful than it had been the first time Scaly used it, as its strength had increased together with her strength increasing.

Ptsh!

In the end, it managed to directly tear off one of the spider’s legs, causing it to momentarily lose its balance.

Swish~

Not one to miss such an opportunity, Scaly used this to her advantage to dodge the attack of the spider before rapidly retreating once again before the spider had any time to launch another attack.

This damnable spider! I won’t let you get close enough this time around!

Having learnt from her mistake the first time around, Scaly didn’t waste any time after making some distance between herself and the spider-

Swoosh-!

Directly conjuring a massive water spear around the same size as herself before launching it towards the spider that was still in a slightly dazed state after suddenly losing one of its legs and seeing its target disappearing in front of it once again.

PTSH!

By the time that the spider realized that the water spear was flying towards it, it was already far too late for it, as it was directly skewered by the massive water spear of Scaly!

[Gained 120 Exp]

Seeing the familiar notification appearing in front of her, Scaly let out a sigh of relief in her mind as she looked towards the skewered spider in the distance with a triumphant look in her eyes.

That is what you get for ambushing me!

Winning the fight against the cave harvestman was a massive boost to Scaly’s confidence, as the cave harvestman was among the stronger monsters present inside the cave.

Now that she knew that she could kill off the cave harvestman, the only monsters inside the cave that made Scaly feel some degree of fear was the venom cave spider queen and the cave alligator.

Outside of those two, Scaly had not really seen any monsters inside the cave that were that much stronger than the cave harvestman she had just defeated... With this in mind, Scaly understood that she had free reign to hunt inside the cave that did not involve those two!

No longer would she be limited to hunting salamanders and salamander eaters! Now, she would be able to hunt the stronger monster!

Thump!

Just at this time, the water spear disappeared as the dead body of the large cave harvestman fell to the ground.

Hm... I wonder if its edible...?

Glancing towards the dead body of the cave harvestman, Scaly could not help feeling hungry from the exhausting fight she had just gone through.

Maybe... Can I inspect it even though its dead...?

Never having tried to do so before, Scaly decided to give it a try as she inspected the dead body of the large cave harvestman.

[Large Cave Harvestman (dead)]

[Description: It’s a dead cave harvestman that you just killed! Curious whether or not it’s edible? Why don’t you give it a try~?]

”...”

Not knowing what to say after reading the brand-new description that appeared in front of her, Scaly could only stare speechlessly at the text floating in front of her. For some reason, she had a feeling that someone was messing with her...

No way!

Shaking her small head at this thought, Scaly cautiously approached the dead body of the large cave harvestman.

Given that the large cave harvestman did not have any poison, Scaly was not afraid of getting poisoned after eating it. The main thing she was worried about when it came to eating the large cave harvestman at this point in time... Was the taste!

Chomp~!

Mhm!?

Biting down on one of the legs, Scaly could not help opening her eyes wide before rapidly eating the spider leg.

For some odd reason, the spider leg did not taste anything like what she had expected... No, it did not taste anything like what a spider should have tasted like!

This is... Strawberry ice cream!?

Indeed, the leg of the large cave harvestman tasted like strawberry ice cream, something Scaly could barely remember enjoying from her past life.

Chomp, Chomp, Chomp~

Even though she began thinking that someone might be messing with her tastebuds at this point in time, Scaly decided not to question it as she rapidly devoured all eight legs of the large cave harvestman. Not forgetting the leg, she had torn off earlier with her water ball.

...

Ahhh, the bliss~

Finishing off all the spider legs, Scaly found a secure place, as she decided to take a quick break to recover the mana she had used before continuing.
