Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1104: A Beastkin’s Failed Ambush ( 1104 )

Afternoon.

Javier was inside the office, working alongside Varrick, Mahira, Lorcan, and the shadow leader’s assistant, as well as two other new female staff members.

Liana, Gloria, Felicia, and Delya sat nearby, each quietly occupied with their own activities. Reading, knitting, or simply observing, without making a sound. They moved with practiced grace, ensuring they didn’t disrupt the flow of work.

Mimi, however, had already grown bored and slipped outside.

She wandered the hallways, glancing around while maids discreetly monitored her safety from a distance. Armand patrol guards kept a watchful eye, maintaining a respectful distance and communicating silently through mana talkies in their ears, ensuring no unauthorized person approached without alerting the security detail.

”Nya nya nya~” Mimi skipped along, pausing occasionally to look at the portraits lining the walls before letting out a sigh.

”Nya! It’s boring...”

I wish Husband wasn’t so busy.

But Liana said today is the last day of husband helping his father with official work before the wedding preparations fully begin.

Liana and Gloria won’t even tell me when ”the time” will come.

Even Onee-sama is being too secretive about it all.

She kicked a small, imaginary pebble along the polished floor, her tail swishing in mild frustration.

She looked at the main door.

Nya? I guess I can walk around the courtyard, do a little bit of exercise, and when I’m tired, go back to Husband, nya~

But Husband mentioned not to leave the estate.

Mm~ I won’t go out of the estate, nya~ Just around where everyone can keep watching. She was well aware of the Armand guards, soldiers, and maids positioned discreetly to ensure her safety.

Ehehe... Husband really cares for me.

Mimi skipped while humming softly, biting her lower lip with a little fang showing, heading toward the door. The guards at the door slowly stood from their seats.

”Princess Mimi? Where are you going?”

”Nya? I’m just bored and want to walk around the courtyard, nya!”

”But...”

Mimi grinned, her tail swinging softly. ”Nya~ Don’t worry, Husband already said not to go out of the estate. I’ll just stay around the courtyard.”

”If you say so, Princess.” The guards smiled and opened the door, signaling the other guards while tapping their mana talkies.

The guards patrolling around nodded and kept a respectful distance as they watched Mimi climb down the stairs in excitement, running around with glee.

”Nyaaaa~”

She jumped toward the high fountain, perching on its edge in a playful crouch, her tail swaying happily behind her.

The maids nearby exhaled softly. ”Princess Mimi. Please don’t climb that high, especially while wearing a dress.”

”Nya? Oh... I’m wearing shorts under this, nya?” Mimi was about to lift her skirt when the maids hissed in unison, ”Princess Mimi! If you don’t stop, we’ll tell Prince Javier about it.”

”Mou!” Mimi pouted her lips and stood, placing a palm over her brow as she glanced around the courtyard, her eyes scanning the gardens, the training grounds, and the distant pekko pen with a curious, mischievous glint.

Mimi exhaled softly.

Tomorrow is Husband’s brothers’ wedding. And it will be busy again. But... hehe... tomorrow Husband won’t be working anymore, and I can have fun with everyone~

She looked around again and noticed the wedding preparations in the courtyard garden, a short distance from where she stood.

Oh? That looks interesting, nya~ I guess I’ll check it out.

Mimi jumped from the fountain and landed gracefully before starting to run in excitement.

”Ehehehe~”

The maids around simply exhaled and shook their heads before following her from a distance.

Once Mimi arrived at the wedding area, she felt a surge of excitement. The moment she stepped onto the red carpet, she lifted her skirt slightly and began copying the way her sister Felicia walked—graceful, poised, and elegant, but with an added bounce of pure joy.

She twirled slowly, pretending to hold an invisible bouquet, then walked down the aisle with exaggerated solemnity before breaking into a giggle. She even mimed exchanging rings with an imaginary Javier, her tail swishing happily behind her.

The maids watching from a distance simply exhaled, smiling softly.

”She’s so innocent~”

”Yes~ And she’s so different from the others.”

”Miss Liana is composed and serious, Miss Gloria is playful but sharp, sometimes serious, sometimes dramatic. While Princess Felicia is shy and proper, and Princess Delya is dreamy and romantic... but Princess Mimi? She’s just pure, unfiltered joy.”

”It’s refreshing, isn’t it? Prince Javier seems to enjoy her energy too.”

”Mm... she keeps things lively, that’s for sure.”

”Should we inform Prince Javier about this?”

”Mm? I don’t think we need to inform him about her. She’s just having fun. As long as she doesn’t leave the estate, we’re fine.”

”Yeah... I guess so.”

”Just keep an eye on her. But I doubt she’ll go out—Prince Javier already told her not to. I’m sure she’ll listen to him.”

”If you say so,” the maid smiled at her friend before continuing to watch over Mimi.

”Let’s just hope she doesn’t ruin the wedding preparations,” the other said, sighing softly as they watched Mimi now poking the wedding flowers on the altar before suddenly darting off to chase a butterfly that fluttered past her.

”Let’s follow her for now and inform the others so she doesn’t wander too far.”

”Okay.”

They started rushing when Mimi, still chasing the butterfly, began heading toward the Armand gate.

The maids suddenly noticed the Armand guards unsheathed their blades, alerting everyone through their mana talkies.

”Princess Mimi!!!” the maids shouted, reaching under their skirts to draw concealed magic blades before dashing forward.

A bulky, muscular beastkin suddenly materialized from the air, activating a cloud of sleep magic that forced the Armand guards to take a forced step back. They quickly tapped their helms, activating built-in magic gas masks that slid into place over their faces.

The maids kept rushing forward as the entire Armand estate went on high alert.

The bulky beastkin lunged, his massive hand outstretched to grab Mimi.

Mimi glanced up, raised one of her feet, and delivered a swift, powerful downward kick to the beastkin’s head, crushing him into the ground in one hit.

”Nya? Why did you suddenly jump on me, nya?”
