Chapter 631: The Future Divine Spirit King Will Be... Part-1.

After Several Minutes.

”Granny Nova, please let us go! We won’t do it again!”

”Yes! I promise I won’t do it again!”

After several minutes of chaos, Nova finally caught the two airhead twins, tied them both upside down to a pillar nearby, and smacked them both three times with a stick!

”I told you troublemakers not to sneak out of the barrier! But you did it again! See what happened!”

Nova was angry that dozens of those brats went outside without permission and ended up dying.

Although she was angry, it was a very sad thing that so many young fairies that she personally knew ended up dying in a single day!

”We were just unlucky and encountered a powerful demon-”

Nova didn’t even let the two make excuses; she just tied them up to punish them and stopped listening to them.

”Hang there till evening as punishment now!”

Lyria and Miria blinked at Lia several times to signal her to help them, but Lia couldn’t bring herself to move and do anything, as she had no right to interfere with an elder correcting their young one’s mistakes.

”Uh... is it really okay to punish them like that... I mean... don’t fairies love being free and shackle-less...”

”Binding them like that is a more cruel punishment than killing them, right?”

Fairies were unlike every other creature in the world.

They had no concept of family or such responsibilities; even their social life was just interacting with a few fairies only once in a while at most.

For most of their time, fairies spent their days wandering and enjoying their freedom.

Being bound to one place was like torture to these curious and exploration-loving creatures.

”That’s exactly why I am punishing them like that! These two brats need to understand the consequences of their actions so they won’t do something like that in the future again!”

”Demons and powerful humans are wandering outside the barrier, hunting for us fragile beings constantly! These two fellows don’t even seem to have comprehended that their friends have died horribly...”

In the past few minutes, Nova not only bound them but also interrogated them about what had happened after they went missing.

Nova massaged her temples as she spoke.

”Sigh... these two are too young and don’t understand things for now... but when they get old... they will come to regret this moment of not feeling anything for their dead friends...”

Lia felt really confused after hearing those words but before she could ask, Kai explained,

[As I told you earlier, fairies don’t have the concept of age... they are already born as adults, but of course this method has drawbacks...]

[Newly born fairies have adult bodies but their minds are like children, immature and unable to understand the world properly... these two twins are likely recently born ’Kids’ in fairy terms...]

[They aren’t capable of comprehending the word ’death,’ and until now they haven’t truly realized that their friends have been horribly murdered by that demon and they aren’t coming back anymore...]

Just like a small immature human kid is unable to understand anything if a crime happens in front of it, the same was true for these little fairies.

They were only able to understand the demon was attacking them and they had to safeguard themselves, but they had no understanding of the entire situation as a whole.

[Only when fairies have lived for a long time and has experienced a lot of things in life do they become intelligent and calm like that fairy called Nova...]

’I see... no wonder these two were in such a happy mood and were even giggling the entire way here...’

’I thought it was because fairies were all like that... I had no idea that these two didn’t even know what they were doing...’

Lyria and Miria were not just airheads; they were kids with love for mischief and no one to look after them.

Unlike humans, fairies have no parents to look after them or stop them, and even other fairies barely interact with them often, so newly born fairies are very prone to danger!

Nova reprimanding them was all for their own benefit!

”Putting the matter of these two idiots aside... you... what are you? You have the aura of a human but have wings like Royal Fairies...”

”Wait... that cat... is that you, Divine General Kawaki!?!? Why are you in such a form!? What?!”

A look of shock and disbelief spread on Nova’s face as she finally noticed Kai lazily sitting on Lia’s shoulder in the form of a small silver cat.

”Err... I had a feeling that I had seen this fairy somewhere... It turns out she knows me after all...”

While speaking those words, Kai scratched his face with his paw like a human who was feeling awkward that he was caught red-handed.

”You know Kai? He’s my summoned spirit beast...”

”As for me, I am Lia Silver, a human. these wings are a manifestation of my spirit powers that I acquired through Kai...”

Hearing Lia’s words, Nova and the little girl Bela, who had been sitting silently on the bench nearby until now, both opened their eyes wide in shock.

While Nova was shocked because of Kai, the reason for the little girl Bela to feel shocked was different.

The moment she heard that Lia was a human, she immediately rushed under the bench to hide.

”A human... no... no... they will... they will take me away... no... I have done nothing... no...”

Nova looked at Kai and spoke in a surprised tone.

”To think that the strongest divine spirit general would actually choose a human to be their master... this is truly shocking...”

Hearing Nova’s words, Kai shook his head in helplessness.

”Things happened... a certain fellow made me change my mind... The current me has decided to support this kiddo and make her the next ’Divine Spirit King’ of our world!”

Hearing the words ’Divine Spirit King,’ Lia almost felt her soul resonate with it.

This was the first time she was hearing about this, but she was already starting to like this title a bit.
