Chapter 572: The Grand Seal Of The Final Gamble. Part-2.

”So, she decided to go in the same direction that King Allen took to access the sea of miasma?...”

”But why would she go in that direction? Isn’t it counter-productive to go in that direction?... Miasma would be denser the closer you would get to sea of miasma...”

”Why would she willingly go toward the sea of miasma? I am missing a lot of information here...”

Rio contemplated, and from these broken and unstable memories, he came to the conclusion that the shadow dragon king likely knew that there was something ’unique’ in that direction.

And he talked about it to Ellie at one point in time, but his own memories got corrupted, and thus he couldn’t give any information about what Ellie was aiming for to Rio in his final moments.

His memories of his daughter were the only ones he had left intact; most of the other unimportant memories were mostly wiped out by miasma.

’There could be other reasons too but this must be the most likely reason I can think of...’

Rio got up and looked in the direction he was headed, and a frown appeared on his face.

’So, I am heading towards the sea of miasma right now?’

The sea of miasma is likely very far away from this place, and Rio might not even reach it in a hundred years unless he uses warp drive or some other powerful ability to travel at insanely fast speeds.

’But why use the spirit realm to access the sea of miasma?... don’t tell me...’

Rio’s eyes widened when he thought of the ancient legend that Astra once purified big areas of the sea of miasma, and with the help of King Allen, they separated those purified areas to make homes for ordinary spirits.

’It’s entire possible that such small spirit realm pockets also exist inside the sea of miasma and they can be use to bypass the outer defensive shell of the sea of miasma?’

No matter what kind of enemy fortress you try to invade, your siege needs to overcome the walls and defenses set by the enemy to actually fight the enemy head-on.

The same is true for the sea of miasma; most of its demons, its puppets, and its monsters stay around the outer perimeters, as that is the place with the least density of miasma in the entire sea of miasma.

The deeper you go, the denser it would be, and thus invading the sea of miasma would be a battle of endurance; the deeper you go, the more difficult it would become.

’Almost like abyss... the deeper you fall into it, the less chance you have of returning back from it...’

Even King Allen Von Reinhart, the absolute strongest being of his time, never managed to return back from that endless abyss.

’What exactly is the origin of the sea of miasma, I wonder...’

Rio was very curious about its existence and knew that sooner or later, he would have to head inside it too, just like King Allen once did.

Looking in the direction he was headed, Rio noticed that the flow of miasma was in the opposite direction.

Just like when you try to reach the source of a river, you have to swim against the river’s flow; the same was true in this case.

’It will get more difficult to move forward with each step from here onwards, I guess...’

Rio was immune to miasmic corruption and could, in fact, even use it for his benefits, but that didn’t mean he was also immune to the damage it did to the world and everything else.

’Miasmic spatial rifts, miasma-spilling cracks, corrupted spatial fluctuations and rampaging uneven currents of miasmic flow... everything is possible...’

Just evil spirits and powerful monsters were not the only challenge in Rio’s way; the environment of the spirit realm itself was extremely hazardous to everything in existence!

’I have already come quite a long way; there’s no point in going back empty-handed now...’

Rio shook his head, and after taking a long, deep breath, he flew in the direction shown by the cube of possibilities without hesitation.

...

*shhhhhmmmmmm!!!*

”Phew~ finally succeeded....”

Rio smiled slightly as he looked at the new miasma crystal he made; it was one of the purest and biggest miasma crystals he had made up until now.

After reaching the intermediate stage of rank S, Rio’s strength improved in all aspects, and his control over miasma also improved tremendously.

Previously, Rio could only make small, low-grade miasma crystals with very low concentrations and a very unstable form.

But now he’s already become capable of creating intermediate-grade miasma crystals, and his control over miasma has reached a new level once again!

’A month and a half... it really took me quite some time to do this but I am satisfied with this progress speed...’

Rio was not going to waste all the time on travelling alone; that’s why, when he started heading in the direction of Ellie, he also started his miasma crystal-creating experiments once again.

For the next one month and fifteen days, Rio kept travelling continuously without a break.

He handed over the control of his flying ability to his sword intent and imitated a sort of ’autopilot’ mode that planes used to have in his previous world.

He gave his sword intent a set of rules, ’avoid collision with anything, and alert me of any possible danger...’

He made it act in a set way like an ’autopilot’ so that he could focus his entire mind on working and training his miasma crystal creation ability.

This way, he kept flying continuously while also managing to improve his miasma-related skills and abilities tremendously.

Of course, he also took a few brief ten-minute quick meditation breaks here and there to reduce mental stress, but later Rio got annoyed that he was getting too much mental stress from working on the miasma crystal project.

So, he just ripped apart the souls of any monster he came across and used their souls and sea of consciousness and turned all that into pure mental and soul power to supplement his own.

Even when miasma tried to burst apart the monsters, Rio’s miasma control was now so strong that he could delay the explosion for a few seconds and then harvest others’ soul fragments as portable batteries for himself.

His flute had hundreds of portable batteries stored in it, and whenever Rio ran out of soul power and mental power, he would just charge himself once again with them, eliminating the need for rest!

Mental stress and soul stress are some of the biggest problems that even SS-rankers struggle against, but Rio easily solved them by literally eating others’ souls to reduce his own mental stress and the burden on his soul.

In fact, when eating others’ souls and seas of consciousness, Rio discovered that his soul manipulation skill had improved so much that he could actually use others’ souls and seas of consciousness to improve his own!

He just had to absorb others’ souls, turn them into pure soul power, and enhance his own; the same procedure could also be applied to the sea of consciousness.

Even though most monsters in the spirit realm were devoid of any sanity, they still had a broken sea of consciousness inside their souls.

Rio ripped them apart, converted them into pure consciousness fragments, and then added them to his sea of consciousness to expand it and make it more robust.
