Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 845: Chapter 541: Dragapult on the Run (Part 2)

Dragapult and Corsola are generally fine. One had a slight stress response, and the other didn’t wake up at all. Just to be safe, let’s not have them participate in any battles today, although some training is fine.

Finally...

”The only problem with Hydreigon is being overly excited; it smashed a heart monitor right after waking up.”

Miss Joy asked, ”You didn’t feed it anything strange, did you?”

”...We just finished a Gym Battle, and it had a burst of energy.”

”Then it’s an emotional factor. Make sure to calm it down. When large-sized Dragon-type Pokémon like Hydreigon get reckless, they can cause quite a bit of destruction to the room.”

Miss Joy gently reminded.

Baimu: ”...”

Why does it feel more like she’s describing another kind of animal that only likes to watch others keep?

However, it’s not hard to guess why Hydreigon was so unusually excited.

After all, its contribution in this Gym Battle was perhaps even greater than Lairon’s, defeating two opponents, one of which was Walrein, giving its companions a tough time.

With its personality, it would indeed be strange if it didn’t show off a little.

But the awkward thing is.

Even though Baimu knows it might make Dragapult feel worse, he still has to praise Hydreigon in front of all the Pokémon to satisfy its small vanity.

”Balancing things fairly” certainly doesn’t mean making one feel aggrieved.

How to soothe the downcast Dragapult is his responsibility as a Trainer. It’s unreasonable to force the outstanding contributor, Hydreigon, to restrain itself.

”Giving yourself a hard problem, really.”

Baimu shook his head helplessly; sometimes doing the right thing isn’t easy.

However.

During dinner, when he chose to enjoy the meal with his Pokémon and, as usual, thanked and praised the partners who participated today to boost their confidence, Hydreigon kept glancing at Dragapult, who was eating in the corner as always.

It didn’t even seem to hear the praise.

Nor displayed any bit of show-off attitude.

Hmm...

What’s going on?

Baimu paused in his speech and observed quietly; speaking of which, he always had a shallow understanding of the relationships among his Pokémon behind the scenes.

Pokémon can also pretend to be well-behaved.

Having two different sets of behaviors in front of people and behind is completely normal.

Didn’t you see in that episode of the No-mark Era with the giant Pokémon robot where Ash Ketchum and others got separated from Pikachu?

Everyone was frantic, but Bulbasaur still had the energy to sarcastically comment that they were probably abandoned, calling itself a Lonely Wanderer.

But did it run any slower when they reunited?

Baimu realized he might need to secretly observe Lairon and the others while studying at the Glazed Gym through surveillance or other means.

For this, he probably needs an ’inside man’...

’You’re just perfect for the job!’

He looked at Porygon II, with its wide eyes and eyebrows, and smiled at the puzzled look it gave him, secretly assigning it the role of agent.

There wasn’t another choice anyway; you can’t hide from Porygon II.

After dinner.

A predictable situation occurred—

Dragapult was missing.

If it were nearby, Baimu could still barely sense a little bit, but once it was too far away, he could basically forget about catching it.

How to comfort it now?

Let it slowly digest on its own?

Baimu was sure this definitely wasn’t a good choice.

Introverted Pokémon often find it hard to adjust on their own, and Dragapult is a prime example. Resentment against all humans because of poachers’ actions proves how dangerous leaving it to think alone can be.

But when he was thinking about how to find Dragapult, Hydreigon, who had been acting strangely since returning from the Pokémon Center, came over.

”What? Leave it to you?”

Baimu looked at Hydreigon in surprise.

All three heads nodded, with an expression full of confidence saying, ’You can count on me!’

”You... alright then.”

He intended to refuse and tell this guy not to make things worse. It’s not just about whether you can find it. Searching for it might just add fuel to the fire, right?

But remembering the look it had while gazing at Dragapult during dinner, he miraculously agreed.

Hydreigon wanted to use its own strength to improve the relationship with its partner, and he should support that.

This is also a kind of independence!

”Then it’s up to you! But won’t your efficiency be too low if just one dragon goes searching? Get some help; I’ll authorize you to command everyone!”

Baimu patted Hydreigon’s three heads, thinking if anything went wrong, the other Pokémon would probably come to him.

”Sha Song!”

Hydreigon, understanding nothing of the Trainer’s small schemes, nodded happily.

It had wanted to show off... pfft! Unite with everyone for once!

The advantage is ours!

Hydreigon swung its big tail and flew away.

Baimu watched its rather sly-looking back and silently said: ”I hope leaving it to you is okay? Should be...”

Trust in the dragon when you’re using it and don’t distrust it when not.

He didn’t dwell on it anymore.

——

Early morning.

Baimu groggily awoke.

In front of him was a large gaping mouth breathing hard.

”...Back?”

He turned on the bedside lamp and slowly sat up, only to see Hydreigon, with all three heads raised proudly.

Behind it was Dragapult, head buried deeply, triangular eyes sneakily darting around.

This guy looked like a kid caught sneaking off to surf the web.

”Found it?”

”Sha Song!”

”It didn’t come back on its own?”

”...Sha Song!”

”Alright, alright. Trusting you was the right decision in the end. I’m seeing you in a new light!”

He made his stance clear before Hydreigon got offended and couldn’t help but inquire, ”How did you find it? And how did you get found?”
