Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 397: Chapter 349: The Legend’s Reward

As the stirring battle anthem sung by Altaria came to an end, the musician arrived at the critical semi-finals.

To be honest.

The musician’s progress up to this point had been remarkably smooth, and Baimu couldn’t tell whether it was because the musician’s Pokémon were too strong, or if the other trainers participating in the Huiyuan Conference were too weak.

But it seemed as though Baimu had set a flag for the musician; the semi-final battle started off smoothly for him.

Then suddenly, things became difficult.

The opponent not only disrupted his rhythm but also used moves like Ultrasonic and Metal Sound to affect the Pokémon’s hearing, making it hard for his music to reach the Pokémon effectively.

The musician struggled to fend off the opponent’s onslaught, but in the end, had no choice but to send two already injured Pokémon to face the opponent’s strong ace.

It looked like two against one.

Yet, the signs of a declining trend in victory were evident.

Watching Altaria being pushed back continuously, Baimu’s heart started pounding.

Could this be a total wipeout?

Double Blue Talent, huh!

Only the top four? That doesn’t quite make sense!

Luckily, the musician did not disappoint Baimu, nor did he disappoint his Pokémon. He threw away the trumpet in his arms, picked up the microphone, and replaced the original music with his singing.

”You know you can definitely convey your voice to Altaria’s heart because—’A trainer’s voice always has more penetrative power than an instrument’s sound, granting Pokémon courage.’”

”You always remember the teachings given to you by Shaka.”

Just as Altaria was about to fall, it suddenly sang the Song of Destruction, announcing the countdown to the slumber of the opponent’s last Pokémon.

”Boundary Breakthrough.”

It hadn’t originally learned this move, but upon hearing the heart’s voice transmitted from its trainer, it successfully sang this ’Divine Comedy.’

The musician’s last Pokémon took the stage and tenaciously held on until the Song of Destruction took away the opponent’s ace, successfully turning the tables and advancing to the finals!

”... Pixels can be this exciting?”

Baimu swallowed hard, looking forward to the final showdown.

And then.

Something unexpected happened; Altaria was unable to continue in the finals the next day due to its severe injuries, leaving the musician, who only had six Pokémon, in a dead-end.

That’s if there were indeed only six.

On the day of the finals.

The musician battled fiercely with his opponent, starting with Homiga’s old guitar, as he had planned to ”end” it with the old guitar too. But when his ace Jigglypuff was also defeated, he sent out his sixth Pokémon—

Meloetta.

The appearance of the Mythical Pokémon caused an uproar throughout the arena, with everyone surprised that the musician had such a trump card.

”You looked at Meloetta and your memory instinctively returned to that afternoon when the composition was completed. Meloetta appeared because it recognized your talent and wanted to help you realize your musical dream, singing along with your Pokémon band at the Huiyuan Conference to play this Heart of Unova.’

”With Meloetta’s help, you trained your Pokémon even harder and succeeded in integrating Meloetta into your Pokémon band.”

The narration cuts off.

The scene continues to show Meloetta in battle, as it sings the ancient song, transforming from its aria form to its pirouette form, merging seamlessly with the musician’s guitar-playing, and through Telepathy, successfully defeating the musician’s opponent.

The musician triumphed to become Champion!

Baimu raised his hands in excitement, yet another champion following the calligrapher’s victory, how could he remain calm.

On the day of the championship.

Given tacit permission by the tournament organizers, the musician moved a piano near the award platform. With his seven Pokémon, he played Heart of Unova in front of all the spectators, in front of all the global audience paying attention to the Huiyuan Conference.

The magnificent music temporarily turned the Champion Alliance tournament into the musician’s private concert, but no one complained. Everyone could feel the deep emotions between him and his Pokémon band embedded in the music.

The chorus of Jigglypuff and Meloetta, Altaria’s harmonizing, the pipe organ-like sounds from the combination of Chimecho and Lapras, the shaking sound of Maractus’ rhythm, the alternating sounds of cello and violin from Kricketune’s left-right strikes.

The grandeur of the Unova Region unfolded like a painting before everyone’s eyes.

The characteristics and customs of each city seemed to be showcased right in front of them.

The audience was utterly amazed.

Once the piece ended, countless cries for an encore rang out, hoping the musician would play one more song without stepping down.

The tournament organizers implicitly consented.

Hence.

Perhaps the most absurd, yet likely the most beloved by the audience, League Conference quietly came to an end.

As for the Champion Alliance.

Although the musician’s Pokémon had given their all to win, even with Meloetta, they could not surpass the first Celestial King—Caitlin with Psychic Attribute.

”You lost to Caitlin, and your League challenge journey ended.”

”You fulfilled your parents’ wishes and took a strong step towards realizing your musical dream. However, you know this is just the beginning; more challenges await you and your Pokémon band in the future. Unfortunately, Meloetta cannot continue with you. Aside from helping you clinch the win, it only wanted to sing Heart of Unova.”

”You’re a bit regretful but still bid farewell to this friend who had been with you for months.”

The screen freezes on the image of the musician holding his guitar, saying goodbye to Meloetta in front of the sunset.
