One Trait Draw Per Year Even Simulations Count

If winning the world war meant immediate ascension to immortality, Chen Yi felt he wouldn’t even need his simulations.

He could just unleash power beyond the Void Realm, blast every plane outside the human world to smithereens, and let the human world win by default.

Wouldn’t that just make him an immortal?

But obviously, that made no logical sense.

If gathering the Mundane Qi of all planes into one place could let someone ascend to immortality, then there would at least be some logic to it.

Before speaking, the Dragon-Man Realm Master glanced at Sotuofeiren.

Even without eavesdropping on his heartstrings, Chen Yi knew what he meant.

”Suo Zi, go wait over there.”

”Yes, boss.”

Sotuofeiren flew off without a trace. The Dragon-Man Realm Master took a stinking clump of mud from his storage artifact and smeared it over the wound that had gone clean through his body.

This clump of mud halted the deterioration of the Realm Master’s wound, preserving his physical body.

Only then did he speak calmly.

”Behind closed doors, no. But to the outside, we have to say yes.”

Chen Yi was still somewhat disappointed.

Because he had heard the Dragon-Man Realm Master’s heartstrings, and he wasn’t lying.

”So it seems you’re just using ascension to immortality as motivation for the people below, letting them quench their thirst with thoughts of plums, giving them an eternal conviction to fight for across generations.”

Chen Yi had harbored this thought ever since he first learned from Founding Ancestor Shen that the world war was connected to ascension.

He felt that ascension was just a facade, a banner used by the upper echelons to rally those below to fight.

But the Dragon-Man Realm Master added another line.

”Though it can’t be done, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

”Stop being so cryptic. Spit it out.”

”You should know who the original instigator of the world war was, right?”

”Thirty thousand years ago, the last Human Emperor of our human world.”

”Correct. The banner the Human Emperor raised back then was that victory in the world war would allow the entire world to ascend to immortality!”

”Did the Human Emperor deceive the entire Void Realm?”

”Back then, the human world was still the core of all races, the center of the Void Realm. The Human Emperor’s authority was boundless. No one would question that statement. For thirty thousand years, even if it was a lie repeated for so long, everyone came to believe it wholeheartedly.”

”Then why do you say it ’can’t be done’? If it can’t be done, what was the Human Emperor’s true purpose in starting the world war?”

”To resist the Real Realm!”

The Dragon-Man Realm Master then told Chen Yi another layer of truth about the world war.

Thirty thousand years ago, the Path to Immortality was still secretly controlled by the Ancient Wasteland Survivors. Even the Human Emperor’s Palace had not unearthed it.

But there was no need for that.

Even without the Path to Immortality, experts from the human world, and even from every plane in the Void Realm, were continuously ascending to the Real Realm.

Why was the human world the center of all realms back then? Not just because the human race was powerful at the time.

At that time, the Human Emperor’s Palace could maintain very convenient communication with the Real Realm.

While physical travel back and forth wasn’t possible, information transfer was no problem.

The human world possessed all the intelligence coming from the Real Realm.

Although the Real Realm had already entered a version of total discrimination against the human race, the Void Realm still had various races besides humans, and many planes had certain connections with various powers in the Real Realm.

So, the Real Realm was still willing to transmit some things to the Void Realm.

Unexpectedly, among the things the Real Realm transmitted, there was even Pollution.

”Pollution?”

”I assume you’ve seen Pollution before, so I don’t need to explain what it is, right?”

”No need... So the Pollution in the Void Realm was passed down from the Real Realm?”

”Yes. Ever since the end of the Celestial Emperor’s era, within that vast, boundless world of the Real Realm, so much larger than the Void Realm, they couldn’t find a single person capable of solving the Pollution problem.

Pollution kept spreading, and it would eventually dismantle the entire cultivation system of the Real Realm universe.

So, unable to deal with Pollution, they found a way to divert the disaster elsewhere...”

The Real Realm was enormous, unimaginably so.

Every named local galaxy basically had an Immortal Emperor stationed there.

Normally, because of the vast distances, they had almost no communication.

But when faced with the Pollution problem, some of the closer Immortal Emperors still had to band together.

Unable to solve Pollution, they joined forces to send it from the Real Realm into the Void Realm.

The Void Realm was special. Internally, it was divided into countless planes.

Each plane was separated by a world barrier.

This world barrier was also quite special. It wasn’t afraid of the power of Pollution and could effectively block its spread.

So, one Void Realm plane was a very convenient tool for sealing away Pollution.

Hearing the Dragon-Man Realm Master describe it this way, Chen Yi immediately connected it to a term he’d heard in the sixth simulation.

”So this is what they meant by ’sealing pools’! They use our worlds to seal away Pollution?!”

”Yes. When a plane becomes saturated with Pollution and can’t take any more, they open a new channel to fill up the next plane.”

”Which planes get chosen?”

”It’s random. Pollution could rain down from the heavens tomorrow and land on our Dragon-Man Realm. No one can say for sure.”

This wasn’t the doing of one or a few Immortal Emperors.

It was an unspoken consensus across the entire Real Realm universe.

How many people were dumping Pollution?

No one could say for sure.

”So, what’s the purpose of the world war?”

”The Human Emperor discovered that when a world’s Mundane Qi was drained dry, it could no longer communicate with the Real Realm.

In other words, that plane could no longer serve as a ’pool’ for the Real Realm to seal Pollution.

After many failed attempts to communicate with the Real Realm, he confirmed that at this rate, it was only a matter of time before every plane in the Void Realm was saturated with Pollution.

So, the Human Emperor resolved to resist the Real Realm within his lifetime, even if it meant a fight to the death...”

The Human Emperor proclaimed to the Void Realm that he had found a new method of ascension from the ”Annals of the Human Ancestor”: gather the Mundane Qi of all planes, bypass the Real Realm, and open a path directly to the Immortal Realm!

The Path to Immortality and Shatter the Void Through Martial Prowess were not true paths to ascension, only roads to the Real Realm.

The true path to ascension had to be forged by defeating one plane after another!

In reality, the Human Emperor’s true purpose was to rapidly reduce the number of planes in the Void Realm through world wars, concentrating the Mundane Qi of every plane.

With fewer and fewer planes available for dumping Pollution, the mere problem of having nowhere to discharge it would make those arrogant Immortal Emperors, who had doomed countless lives across many planes and refused to communicate, taste the bitter fruit of their actions.

Finally, when all the Mundane Qi was gathered together, that plane’s energy would approach that of the Real Realm.

It was like an irrigation canal: once the slope between upstream and downstream became level, the water could no longer flow.

The Immortal Emperors would then be completely unable to open channels to dump Pollution.

That final plane would be the last paradise for the living beings of the Void Realm.

”Either passively wait for death, letting Pollution fill up the planes of the Void Realm one by one.

Or actively wage war, reducing the number of planes, seizing the last paradise, and grabbing that sliver of a chance to contend with the upper realm.

The Human Emperor chose the latter.

But he knew that his actions defied the heavenly way, that they would bring slaughter and calamity, a great tribulation upon the Void Realm.

So, he was the first to face the tribulation and embrace death, choosing to destroy the Demon Tribe alongside himself.

He didn’t care whether it was the human race that ended up living in that last paradise. He only wanted those arrogant existences to pay the price!”
