One-Eyed Monster

Igor felt deeply gratified, having so many people’s support behind him was truly unexpected. But he suddenly realized something was off; wasn’t he worrying about the issue with the Resistors just now? How did it suddenly switch to everyone comforting him?

What exactly happened in between!

Igor thought long and hard and finally realized the change was due to the sentence Kadi said midway...

Crafty Kadi, always steering things in another direction...

However, Igor couldn’t blame Kadi now because Kadi’s actions were also for his sake. Only when Igor stopped being confused could he move forward; otherwise, everything would remain stagnant, no, it should be hesitating—not stagnant, as they weren’t hesitating.

Igor sighed, realizing his own problems and knowing how to be cautious in the future.

At this moment, he thought it was necessary to discuss with Sol about the Resistors and allies...

Igor coughed to break the awkwardness of the current scene, so the kind-hearted people comforting him would know he wants to speak and stop their chatter.

The cough indeed had a good effect; the blacksmith shop suddenly went silent, leaving only the sound of flames crackling in the forge.

Everyone looked at Igor in unison, waiting for him to speak.

”Uh, well...” Igor was momentarily stunned by the expectant scene, finding himself tongue-tied.

”Speak! Why are you hesitating!” Kadi said displeasedly, disappointed that despite his earnest coaxing, Igor hadn’t changed much.

”Well, cough, like this, I want to discuss what we should do next.” Jolted by Kadi, Igor came to his senses.

”Just continue with what you’re doing!” Kadi said disdainfully, thinking Igor’s question was superfluous and unnecessary.

Stan Sol, naturally more detailed than Kadi, knew Igor was contemplating future actions to prepare for his initiatives, so he glanced at Igor and laughed: ”Haha, don’t worry, continue with your plan, don’t be too tangled up.”

Yet Igor couldn’t help but worry because he had no plan; deciding the first thing to do after descending the mountain was still based on sticking to tree branches.

Therefore, Stan Sol’s advice didn’t have any effect.

Igor didn’t know that Stan Sol spoke like that because they understood Igor well. They knew Igor mostly took things one step at a time, having no major plan, so discussing plans with him was truly a waste of time.

In Igor’s journey, hardly any segments proceeded according to his plan; if there was one segment that counted as following a plan, it would be during the structured training experience on Guru Mountain...

Most of the time, Igor took one step at a time, exploring new things as he encountered them, researching new objects as they came their way...

This unplanned approach often made many people frustrated, but on the flip side, most adventurers were of Igor-like style. If an adventurer knew what he was going to do next, it wouldn’t really be called an adventure!

Igor scratched his head; while he had no plan, he did have a goal. Now his goal became more resolute, which was to find some Resistors.

”I’m going to search for Resistors!” Igor’s eyes suddenly steeled with determination.

”I knew you would do this!” Stan Sol chuckled; in reality, he didn’t know, but he wouldn’t be surprised by whatever Igor did.

”Just before I take action, I need to understand a lot more things.” Igor said earnestly.

”I understand, we are your strong backing, we will share all information with you.” Stan Sol said calmly, knowing what Igor needed to understand.

”I’m not the leader or a figurehead of the Resistors, so I cannot rally them; when necessary, I’ll need your brother’s help.” Igor continued to express his views.

”That’s no problem; we are here to mutually help!” Sol affirmed without hesitation.

”Yes, hopefully the Resistors can regroup!” Igor’s eyes were firm, seemingly envisioning those familiar faces gathering together again.

”Actually, Igor, you don’t know, a new Resistor has also quietly formed.” Stan Sol noticed Igor’s excitement and told him the good news.

Igor’s eyes gleamed bright after hearing: ”New Resistors!”

”This is a secret organization we’ve established, and you deserve credit for it, Igor. We face invisible foes, and our team must remain undercover. I can tell you this much, even if the enemies know, it doesn’t matter. We must send them a message, that whenever they choose to officially invade, we can respond!” Stan Sol said this, his expression firm, resolute, seemingly ready to defend the homeland at all costs.

Igor and Stan Sol discussed some matters about Resistors, mainly sharing information, Igor wanting to know if there had been any latest developments since the plan failure on Guru Mountain, any new feedback from Crow and Spider.

Kadi, bored, could not understand the conversation between Igor and Stan Sol, so he could only find Master Lao to kill time.

Kadi talked to Master Lao about the maintenance of his Butterfly Dual Blades, completely setting aside Igor and Stan Sol.

”You’re not interested in what they’re discussing?” Master Lao asked.

”Not at all, their discussions are exhausting, and I would only make things worse,” Kadi replied.

”Oh, hahahaha, in this regard you’re quite like me!” Master Lao chuckled while sharpening Kadi’s blades.

”Like what?” Kadi asked curiously.

”We both focus intensely on our own things and believe doing well in our own affairs is the biggest help to others!” Master Lao murmured, the Butterfly Blades shining more brightly in his hands.

”That’s right, and the Resistors they’re talking about can only repel enemy attacks by doing this; the rest, haha, is pointless!” Kadi kept one blade, sharing a smile with Master Lao.
