One-Eyed Monster

Igor was stunned, he couldn’t understand it at all.

Isn’t this a contradiction? Earlier, this Spirit Book said it was impossible for this Wizard to advance to White Robe, and now it says it’s possible to advance to Holy Robe. Is it joking?

This situation made Igor feel very uncomfortable. Initially, he thought this Spirit Book wasn’t the same as before and had become a bit more reliable. But now, in just a few Gudu Times, it has shown its usual unreliable nature again.

This left Igor completely unsure of what to do. He didn’t know whether to believe it or not; this contradictory statement made him very conflicted, and he felt entirely out of sorts.

However, the Spirit Book did not stop narrating because of Igor’s bewilderment, continuing its chatter regardless.

Sometimes, people are like this: they get overwhelmed by a tiny thing and have no idea what to do. Igor’s mind was completely blank now; he couldn’t tell what was right or wrong. Confusion filled his mind, leaving him clueless about what to do. He always thought he should help others, yet in the end, he did not even know what he had done.

This confusion felt like walking a long distance only to end up lost...

Igor looked around and noticed that others were listening intently. It seemed everyone was earnestly listening to this unreliable Spirit Book, except for him, who was lost in a fog.

He did not understand why the Spirit Book earlier declared that the Great Witch had no chance to advance to the White Robe, and now it was talking about advancing to Holy Robe.

This was downright bizarre. It was impossible to move further, yet somehow it predicted advancing two more steps. Could it be that anyone could leap over obstacles? This was something Igor couldn’t comprehend, and it increased his confusion. Moreover, he couldn’t unravel the mystery within it, the cause and effect, the rights and wrongs. He was completely in a dazed state, utterly clueless about how to understand it.

No one could help him solve these mysteries; he could only stare blankly...

Others seemed to understand the Spirit Book’s words and kept nodding, which made Igor even more bewildered. Could it be that he alone was left in the dark, not grasping this matter?

He tried to understand it on his own, but he was still utterly confused.

What should he do now to understand this matter? Igor felt that merely relying on others’ explanations wouldn’t convince him. Perhaps the only way for him to truly understand everything was to experience it himself. However, Igor thought, he couldn’t become a Wizard, so he wouldn’t have the opportunity to experience these things...

How sad, how helpless...

Igor’s heart was close to despair.

But some things are just so magical; the more something is unclear, the more determined one’s heart is to figure it out on their own.

This was exactly how Igor felt at the moment: deeply troubled, seeking answers in the confusion, especially answers that didn’t exist.

Igor sat quietly, reflecting. He hoped to resolve this matter quickly, but some things couldn’t be rushed.

Moreover, not everything could be solved by deep thinking.

Frankly speaking, Igor’s current thoughts were a complete waste of time and did no good at all.

What would others do at this moment? If it were you, what would you do?

In fact, the situation was quite simple; it was just that Igor had made things complicated for himself.

Igor always turned something simple into something complex.

He always felt things weren’t that simple, though they indeed were.

The confusion was entirely self-created.

Or, he never fully comprehended what the Spirit Book previously mentioned.

The Wizard Robe System’s singular choice method imposed a certain level of constraint on the development of Wizards. Wizards emerging under this system excelled in combat, yet being a Wizard wasn’t just about fighting.

Some Wizards are naturally inclined to research spells and have stronger sensitivity to vegetation and nature than others. Such Wizards often enrich the Wizard community.

However, special times led people to overlook this principle, as particular demands stifled the prosperity of Wizards.

This was the issue the Spirit Book originally pointed out.

The Wizard Robe System was effective for combat Wizards, but it wasn’t everything.

If the Holy Robe represented the highest state a Wizard could reach, there were still chances for those outside the Wizard Robe System to achieve that level.

This was what the Spirit Book was trying to express now.

Of course, the expression was vague and somewhat contradictory, as the Spirit Book tried to blend two different system standards to accommodate Igor’s feelings.

How could one discuss the Holy Robe without being in the Wizard Robe System?

The Great Witch would understand this point the best.

But Igor was a very stubborn person. If you clarified things for him, he might not get confused, but if you mixed everything together, he would become disoriented and overwhelmed...

Had the message been delivered differently, Igor wouldn’t have any doubts.

Just saying that, although the Great Witch couldn’t advance in the combat system to White Robe, she still had the chance to reach the highest state of a Wizard.

However, the Spirit Book chose to blend these statements together, leaving Igor utterly bewildered.

This resulted in Igor being in a daze, not knowing what to do.

He could only watch as others repeatedly nodded in agreement with the Spirit Book’s statement, while he had no idea what to do.

This was indeed a painful situation.

What started as a simple sentence turned into such a big issue, something even the Spirit Book hadn’t anticipated.

Thankfully, Igor was not as obsessed with a single issue as he used to be, making him more at ease than before.

In fact, after the Great Witch came to terms, Igor felt much relieved. Although he still felt troubled now, knowing the Great Witch had a chance to become a Holy Robe still brought him comfort.

His initial goal was to help the Great Witch, and although he didn’t understand the situation, now the problem was resolved.

The Great Witch’s emotions of sadness and despair vanished, yet Igor himself felt waves of sorrow.

He didn’t expect to become the most confused person in this situation.
