Chapter 2497: Key to the Joint Vault

Seeing that the Cloak of Ruin added more fighting capabilities to him, Adrian rode his rush and immediately used the key given to him by the Seven Devil Gods. This was the agreement they made that he will be given one item from the joint vaults of the Seven Devil Gods should all the Primordial Beasts of Sin be killed. Even if he feels that the Primordial Beast of Pride is still alive, Adrian accepted the key like an advance payment to ease his uneasiness of being granted the key.

The key in question looked incredibly ominous in a way that it screams that it came from Hell. The key is red in color and also emitted a heat that makes the skin crawl. It also has the aesthetic of devil wings on the bow with the key bits having a pointed tip just like the tail of a devil.

Adrian held the key and imagined a door in front of him before inserting it in front of him. One would think that he is becoming mad by using the key on the air itself but half of it actually vanished. With an eerie squeaking sound like that of a door that has not been opened for a few years, Adrian managed to create a passage that directly leads to joint vault of the Seven Devil Gods.

A dark space could be seen in front of Adrian as it materialized after the key he was given vanished. This was a one-time deal which means that if the door closes then Adrian will not get any of the treasure inside of the joint vault. In an instant, he entered the passageway, and his body vanished from the guild house.

When Adrian regained vision, he is greeted by a scroll that is in flames. He found himself in a place where countless treasures of varying degrees are just laid to bare. It looked like the vault itself would explode from the countless treasures inside of it. The treasures in this vault are a collection of items that the Seven Devil Gods have gotten ever since they became gods.

[You have entered the Joint Vault of the Seven Devil Gods.]

[You have been given a blessing to pick one item that is located in this place.]

[You have one day to decide for an item that you choose.]

[You can mark items that you like and can pick with the choices that you have marked.]

Adrian read everything to the fine print as he knows that the devils are into the details. Seeing that nothing was amiss from the fine print, he immediately started to use his powerful senses to check the item that he has seen before in Beelzebubʼs vault. It was an item that heavily resonated with him, but they were treating it like a decorative rock.

”What treasure do you think he will choose?” The Devil God Belial asked as all seven of the Devil Gods were looking at Adrianʼs movement.

All of them were taking an interest on what item the Mediator of Death is going to pick. They are even thinking of taking that item and exchanging it for two or three other items if they think what Adrian picked is incredible. They are also observing him to make sure that he only takes one item as per the agreement.

”He is already making a move!” The Devil God Asmodeus stated as all of them looked closely at the monitoring orb.

Adrian did not know that he was being observed but he does feel like there are eyes looking at him from afar. He always had this sense when the divine would look on what he is doing. A being like him that has divine energy already equivalent to that of a demigod is easily detectable for gods. He is like a burning campfire in the middle of the dark woods.

”It is still here!” Adrian thought as he did not want to get his excitement be written in his face.

Adrian did not pick up the item immediately but made it look like he was window shopping. He would pick up an item and then place it back down. He would even give it a second look to make it look like he was hesitating. He then proceeded to mark other items as he noticed that the scroll that told the rules was following from behind.

When he looked back, the scroll actually wrote down the items that he marked. If there is one thing that Adrian knows it is that things like this scroll has ties with divine energy. This might be the item that those sneaky devil gods were using to monitor him. He even made sure to not instantly enter the vault to make it look like he was not excited, but it seems they were still monitoring him.

”This would take all day. I should get some reinforcements.” Adrian stated as he summoned Sirius, Dodu, and Kenos.

”Help me look for items that look good.” Adrian commanded but he was not really commanding them to really look.

”Help me tag items that look strong but just add any item that you think is powerful. About three each should suffice.” Adrian stated via their soul link as this was his real command.

Adrian used the entire day tagging items with his three soulbounds that the Devil God Mammon laughed at his show of greed. When it came down to the one-minute mark, Adrian appeared to look like he was panicking on what to pick since a lot of items were added. This became amusement for the Seven Devil Gods as they saw the Mediator of Death flustered because of his own greed.

[You have one minute left to pick an item.]

”I do not know! I will just pick a random one as all of it is nice!” Adrian shouted but deep inside he was already smiling as he acted like he panic picked the real item that he wanted.
