My Talent Skill Mutated

The Ancient City was completely encircled by the Outer City.

Within the Ancient City, modern, high-tech skyscrapers were a rare sight.

However, that was only what it looked like on the surface. Hidden beneath the Ancient City were numerous technological defense systems.

Should disaster strike, these defenses could be activated in an instant, protecting the Ancient City’s architecture and minimizing any potential damage.

Though it appeared to be an ancient city, it had in fact been renovated countless times.

...

Night fell upon the Ancient City. Bathed in the glow of a thousand lights, a view from high above could make one feel as if they had dreamed their way back several millennia.

Atop an ancient pagoda in the Ancient City, a figure in a black trench coat sat with one leg crossed over the other, gazing at the myriad lights below.

Chen Yu had arrived during the day.

He did not rush to act, however, choosing instead to wait for the opportune moment.

Lying atop the ancient pagoda, Chen Yu’s gaze drifted toward a particular area deep within the Ancient City.

There, according to his intelligence, was the location of one of the nine Heterodox Sect targets.

A top leader from the Pantheon Sect.

’I may be able to kill a Ninth-level Martial Artist, but I still have to make thorough preparations.’

’It’s better not to strike at all than to strike and fail. When I make my move, it has to be a killing blow.’

If word got out, taking care of the other high-ranking masters from the Heterodox Sects would become much more difficult.

A single Ninth-level master was worth over a billion Source of Life; there could be no room for error.

—

Deep into the night, the Ancient City remained brightly lit, but a hush had fallen over it.

”It’s about time.”

Atop the pagoda, Chen Yu abruptly rose. In the next instant, his figure flickered and vanished without a trace, as if he had melted into the night itself.

A few seconds later, Chen Yu appeared inside a villa deep within the Ancient City.

Suppressing his Life Fluctuations, Chen Yu slipped silently into the depths of the villa.

With his Life Force Field at full power, not even a Ninth-level Martial Artist could have detected his presence.

It was just like being invisible.

But unlike true invisibility, he was merely concealing all of his own fluctuations.

Through his Life Force Field, Chen Yu had already locked onto the target.

His first target was inside this very villa.

To the senses of his Life Force Field, the Life Fluctuations of a Ninth-level Martial Artist were as conspicuous as the sun.

On the third floor of the villa, Chen Yu’s figure materialized like a phantom inside one of the rooms.

Standing in a corner of the room, Chen Yu waited quietly, his hand tightening around the grip of a long, slender Tang blade.

His Powerful Energy Superpower was coiled, ready to strike.

”CLICK~”

A moment later, the instant the door swung open, Chen Yu made his move.

”SWOOSH—!”

A flash of light from his blade, a lightning-fast rush, and a spray of blood.

”BANG!!”

With a dull thud, a silver-haired elder was kicked flying from the third floor, crashing heavily onto the ground floor of the main hall.

Blood poured from his chest, where a deep gash was visible.

”ZAP—!”

Chen Yu’s figure blurred, unleashing a burst of speed to close the distance in an instant.

The blade sliced through the air.

Sensing the mortal danger, the silver-haired elder instantly unleashed a terrifying aura from within.

”SCHLICK!!”

But in the next moment, an arm went flying, cleanly severed from his body.

The body of a Ninth-level Martial Artist was powerful, but it was no match for an Extraordinary Weapon.

His arm severed, the silver-haired elder’s face turned deathly pale.

Yet he didn’t make a single sound. He retreated to create distance, his eyes fixed on the figure before him, clad in a black trench coat and hood.

”Who might you be?”

The silver-haired elder used his Qi to staunch the bleeding from his severed arm, his gaze locked murderously on his assailant.

”ROAR—!!”

Just then, the roar of a dragon suddenly echoed, shaking the entire villa.

A brilliant golden light flared, and an immense wave of Divine Power washed over everything.

”This is bad!”

The silver-haired elder was horrified. He quickly activated his Superpower and Qi, forming a silver shield of light that enveloped his entire body.

The next instant, however, the soul of the Dragon God stirred within the golden light. The protective shield offered no resistance as it was pierced straight through, along with the elder’s body.

”You... You’re Chen Yu!”

In the instant he collapsed, the silver-haired elder saw the face beneath the hood.

But it was too late. His consciousness plunged into darkness.

”The Dragon Soul really packs a punch,” Chen Yu said, exhaling as he looked down at the fallen elder.

Even a pierced heart isn’t always enough to kill a Ninth-level Martial Artist. But the Divine Dragon Power was so immense that once it locked onto a target and pierced through, not even a Ninth-level Martial Artist could escape their fate!

”VMM!!”

Spreading his fingers, Chen Yu immediately stripped the elder of his Life Force. A radiant Life Light Group materialized in the air.

He swallowed it whole, storing it away for the time being. Then, Chen Yu’s Force Field enveloped the villa.

In the next moment, the stench of blood filled the villa.

All sixteen people in the villa, both upstairs and down, were eliminated in an instant.

He had never been one to show mercy to the Heterodox Sects.

They all had to die.

After stripping them of their Life Force, Chen Yu left the room.

The villa fell silent, as if nothing had ever happened.

The moment he had struck, Chen Yu had used his Life Force Field to seal off the space inside the villa.

Never mind the dragon’s roar; even if a missile had been launched inside, not a single sound would have been audible from the outside.

His work was done, and he departed without a trace.

Having eliminated his first target, Chen Yu left.

「Dawn.」

In the wilderness of the Dongjiang Safe Zone, atop a small hill, a figure in a black trench coat sat cross-legged under the rising sun, perfectly still.

”Hah...”

Snapping his eyes open, Chen Yu exhaled a cloudy breath and rose to his feet.

’1.7 billion... I’m just over 200 million short of being able to upgrade my Divine Speed Power.’

Looking at the information on his interface, Chen Yu’s gaze drifted toward the distant city of Dongjiang.

His second target was hidden in Dongjiang.

He was also an early-stage Ninth-level Martial Artist.

A top leader from the Divine Authority Council.

The only reason he was next was simple: he was the closest.
