My Talent Skill Mutated

His vision went black, and Chen Yu felt like he could collapse at any moment.

He had eliminated the Flame Demon Spirit, but the cost was immense.

His Spiritual Power was almost completely drained.

Of his total Spiritual Power, only a sliver remained.

The power of the Undead ultimate move was terrifying, but the spiritual consumption was more than Chen Yu could handle.

His body swayed unsteadily.

An unprecedented wave of mental exhaustion washed over him.

At that moment, he had only one thought.

’I need to sleep!’

SWOOSH—!

The long-haired man in sunglasses was the first to snap back to reality. He crossed the distance in a single step, instantly appearing before Chen Yu.

The silver-haired, middle-aged man and Dongfang Yao immediately followed suit.

”Chen Yu, you... how are you feeling?”

The silver-haired man’s expression was grave as he looked at Chen Yu, whose face was as pale as a sheet.

”Sleep,” Chen Yu said. The word had barely left his lips before he closed his eyes.

He couldn’t hold on anymore!

His Spiritual Power was all but gone.

The long-haired man in sunglasses reacted in a flash, catching Chen Yu as he fell.

”Is he okay?” Dongfang Yao asked, her voice laced with anxiety as she watched Chen Yu’s eyes close.

The man in sunglasses checked him over. ”He’s fine,” he said. ”His life force is strong. It’s probably just overexertion. He’ll be fine after some rest.”

Hearing this, Dongfang Yao breathed a sigh of relief.

”I’ll take him back,” the long-haired man said.

The silver-haired man and Dongfang Yao nodded.

With a flicker of movement, the long-haired man vanished into thin air.

Only then did the rest of the group gather around.

”Sir, how is Chen Yu?”

An Eighth-level Martial Artist asked, looking at the silver-haired man.

The silver-haired man looked at the assembled Martial Artists. ”He’s fine,” he said. ”He just passed out.”

Passed out...

The Martial Artists exchanged glances and nodded lightly.

The silver-haired man then addressed them. ”Chen Yu deserves the highest credit for killing the Flame Demon Spirit, but you all contributed as well. I will report this to the Alliance and see that you are all rewarded.”

At these words, looks of joy spread across the Martial Artists’ faces. They bowed in unison. ”Thank you, Sir!”

”You’re all dismissed,” the silver-haired man said.

”Yes, sir!”

The group nodded and began to withdraw.

The silver-haired man and Dongfang Yao then left the area as well.

At the same time, news that the South Sea’s Flame Demon Spirit had been slain spread like wildfire.

The news hit human society like a bombshell.

And Chen Yu, the one who killed the Flame Demon Spirit, instantly became a trending topic, topping the headlines of every major news outlet.

Champion of the Capital City tournament, Sixth-level Martial Artist, multiple S-class Ability User...

The public dug up every piece of information they could find on Chen Yu. His fame swept not only through the major cities of the South Sea, but across the entire East Asian Region.

And it was still spreading.

For a time, his fame was unparalleled.

...

In a daze, Chen Yu’s heavy eyelids fluttered open.

’Exhausted!’

’So exhausted!’

The consumption of his Spiritual Power left Chen Yu feeling a level of fatigue he had never known before.

It was even more draining than depleting his Life Qi Blood!

’Even at my current level, it’s hard to withstand the backlash from an Epic-tier Ultimate Skill.’

’I have to be more careful next time. This is no different than using Divine Will... in fact, it might be even worse...’

Chen Yu sighed to himself.

He hated feeling like this after every time he used an ultimate move.

But he had no choice. Trying to eliminate a freakishly powerful foe like the Flame Demon Spirit without an ultimate move would have been impossible.

Glancing around, Chen Yu saw that he was lying in a bed. It looked like a private room in a hospital.

CLICK.

Just then, the door to his room opened, and a young nurse walked in.

”Oh! Our great hero, you’re awake! This is wonderful!”

The young nurse’s face lit up with joy as she saw Chen Yu was awake, and she hurried over to his bedside.

Chen Yu: ”...”

’Great hero?’

’What’s that all about?’

’When the hell did I become a hero?’

Chen Yu cringed inwardly as he looked at the young nurse’s overjoyed expression.

”How long was I out?” Chen Yu asked, his voice weak.

”You were unconscious for a full half a month, sir!” the young nurse replied.

’Half a month?’

’That long?’

Chen Yu was taken aback by her answer.

’Jeez, even when I used Divine Will before, I was never out for this long.’

The Undead ultimate had knocked him out for half a month straight!

”Sir... um... could you give me your autograph?” the young nurse asked, looking at him shyly as she took out a piece of paper and a pen.

Chen Yu frowned at the young nurse.

”When did I become a hero?”

The young nurse looked at him. ”You might not know this, sir, but it’s because you killed the Flame Demon Spirit in the South Sea half a month ago. The situation there has improved dramatically! Most of the mutated beasts have retreated. You’re a hero to the people of Hai City!”

Hearing this, Chen Yu instantly understood.

”So, sir... can I have your autograph?” the young nurse asked, looking at him expectantly.

Chen Yu glanced at the nurse, gave a reluctant nod, and took the pen. He signed his name with a flourish.

”Thank you so much, sir!”

The young nurse tucked away the slip of paper, her face beaming.

”Sir, you must be hungry since you just woke up. I’ll go get you a bowl of congee right away.”

Chen Yu nodded. As he watched the young nurse leave, he let out a sigh.

He hadn’t expected that killing the Flame Demon Spirit would completely change the situation in the South Sea.

The mutated beasts retreating was good news for everyone else, but for him, it wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

Shaking off his stray thoughts, Chen Yu called up his interface to check it.
