Chapter 169: Chapter 168: I Only Have One Order

Once Wu Chen was over fifty feet from the secret realm’s entrance, the aura within his five organs, which had been suppressed and lying dormant under the realm’s rules, began to slowly circulate.

The long-suppressed aura was finally free to flow. In an instant, it surged through Wu Chen’s body like a great river, its roaring currents crashing against his physical frame like waves against a shore.

Five currents of tangible-seeming aura howled within him, coiling and crying out like five flood dragons, threatening to burst from his body and soar into the heavens.

After circulating a few times on its own, the turbulent aura finally settled. It resonated with the single, ceaselessly spinning drop of Origin Essence Blood and began to flow through his every limb and bone.

Endlessly, ceaselessly, it cycled.

This sudden explosion of power, freed from the rules, made Wu Chen feel as if he could sever rivers and stem their flow.

But he knew this was just a natural reaction to being suppressed for so long.

It was also because of this wild aura circulating within him that the Blood Evil blade technique of the black-robed Elder sounded like nothing more than a faint whisper to Wu Chen. It wasn’t the least bit jarring, nor did it manage to disrupt his own aura in the slightest.

He watched the black-robed Elder, who was frowning at him and raising his blade once more.

With a single stride, Wu Chen was standing before the black-robed Elder.

”You!” The black-robed Elder’s face fell, shocked that Wu Chen could be so fast.

Shocked as he was, the blade in his hand didn’t slow in the slightest as it chopped toward the figure before him.

”Enough with the ’you’! Hand it over!”

The swing of the blade, which would have looked like a mere afterimage to others, was nothing special in Wu Chen’s eyes.

He precisely gripped the black-robed Elder’s wrist, and the crimson blade froze, unable to move another inch.

Then, with a casual twist...

A violent aura and brutish Qi Power erupted from his five fingers.

RRRRIP!—

The black-robed Elder’s Blood Coagulation Realm physique seemed as fragile as paper. With a sharp crack, flesh tore and bone snapped.

A severed arm now appeared in Wu Chen’s hand, its attached palm still gripping the sharp blade tightly.

The black-robed Elder stared dumbfounded at the severed arm in the figure’s hand. It had all happened so fast that the pain of the dismemberment hadn’t even reached his brain yet.

For a moment, he suspected the severed arm wasn’t his own, but one the man had simply picked up from the ground.

But the entirely crimson Blood Blade—one of only two in the entire Blood Slaughter Sect—told him without a doubt that the arm was his.

He finally remembered he should be running. This was a man who had twisted off his arm in a single exchange!

But Wu Chen’s gaze had already shifted from the crimson Blood Blade. As he looked at the black-robed Elder before him, his palm landed squarely on the man’s chest.

THWACK!

The black-robed Elder felt as if he’d been struck by a thousand-pound boulder falling from a height of several hundred feet. His body shot out like a cannonball, a mist of blood erupting from his mouth as he died on the spot.

”Second Brother, are you done yet?!”

Just then, the black-robed Elder who had been clashing with Pang Weifeng suddenly shouted, clearly getting anxious after waiting so long for his partner to relieve him.

Although Pang Weifeng wasn’t in much better shape, the black-robed Elder wanted to take him down more securely.

He didn’t want to fight to the death and end up severely injured himself.

Although he didn’t get an immediate response from Second Brother, he knew the man must be on his way.

He could see a tremor in Pang Weifeng’s eyes.

As a man who had killed countless people, he knew it was the look of fear.

”Sect Leader Pang, no need to be so afraid.”

The black-robed Elder grinned viciously. ”My Blood Blade is exceptionally sharp. Taking your head off won’t cause you too much pain.”

”You can rest in peace...”

THUD!

With a muffled thud, the black-robed Elder’s words were cut short. His vision went black, and he collapsed to the ground.

”Running your mouth like that... Couldn’t you have spared a glance to see who was behind you?”

Wu Chen retracted his hand, speechlessly picked up the Blood Blade from the ground, and looked at the unconscious black-robed Elder.

The reason he hadn’t killed him was so he could interrogate him about his cultivation techniques later, especially that Demon Path art that seemed to grant limitless energy.

His gaze left the black-robed Elder and turned to the somewhat disheveled and terrified Pang Weifeng. He said:

”Sect Leader Pang, if you would be so kind as to watch this Blood Slaughter Sect Elder for me. I have questions for him later. As for everything else here, just leave it to me.”

”Of course, young friend! Whatever you say, I’ll do it!”

How could Pang Weifeng dare to refuse? The image of Wu Chen casually twisting off the other Elder’s arm and then killing him with a single palm strike was seared into his mind.

’Is that really... the Organ Refining Realm?’

Wu Chen, however, had no time to worry about what Pang Weifeng was thinking.

As for what the man might suspect, Wu Chen was confident that in the face of absolute power, Pang Weifeng would rationalize everything on his own.

He’d even argue Wu Chen’s case for him!

HWOOSH! HWOOSH! HWOOSH!

Wu Chen’s gaze fell upon the two crimson blades in his hands, the very ones he had been coveting. He gave them an expert flourish.

With the two Blood Blades in hand, a stinging pain in his palms caused the Qi and Blood in his body to surge even more violently, and the killing intent in his heart intensified.

’There’s something special about these Blood Blades.’

’They’re nurtured by killing and in turn nourish their wielder.’

’And only in my hands can their full potential be unleashed!’

Wu Chen paid no mind to the stimulation of his Qi and Blood. He simply turned his gaze and calmly swept it over the people still fighting in the mountain pass.

’I wonder if these Blood Evil Elders will be enough to advance the Blood Blades to Tier Three.’

Wu Chen wasn’t sure, but he decided he would kill them first and find out later.

His figure flashed into the center of the battlefield.

「A moment later.」

The mountain pass fell silent. Not a single Blood Evil Elder was left.

...

When Wu Chen emerged from a pavilion in the Blood Slaughter Sect’s compound, one of his storage pouches was filled with Martial Arts manuals.

As for money, there was surprisingly little.

He had looted sixty or seventy Elders, but only found three thousand taels of silver.

’Hmph, bunch of paupers!’

Still, Wu Chen could understand. Their training wasn’t like his, where all he needed was to add points to his Martial Arts.

Pills, weapons, precious herbs—every breakthrough required a massive accumulation of silver coins.

So it was normal for them to have little money on them.

He walked back to the entrance of the secret realm in the mountain pass.

Wu Chen overheard several Sect Leaders discussing what to do with the nearly ten thousand members of the Blood Slaughter Sect who had returned from the secret realm.

He heard one of them say:

”Most of these people were abducted and forced to join the Blood Slaughter Sect. As long as they promise not to commit any more atrocities, we should just let it go.”

”There are too many of them. A massacre would surely offend the heavens.”

...

After some discussion, the Sect Leaders looked toward the silent Pang Weifeng.

After all, he was the one who had organized this operation.

He should have the final say.

Feeling the gazes of the other Sect Leaders on him, Pang Weifeng gave a bitter smile.

’Wu Chen killed almost everyone of importance here. How could I possibly be the one to make the decision now?’

’No matter what, we should wait for Wu Chen.’

For a moment, the atmosphere grew quiet.

Meanwhile, the members of the Blood Slaughter Sect didn’t dare make a move in front of the forty or fifty righteous cultivators.

They knew their own Elders had all been slain, and now their lives rested on a single thought from the leaders of these other sects.

Just as everyone was waiting for a decision, a soft chuckle drifted in from outside the pass:

”Heh, ’offend the heavens’?”

”When these Blood Slaughter Sect members were murdering people, did they ever stop to think if they were ’offending the heavens’?”

”Now that they’re the ones about to be killed, suddenly they’re worried about ’offending the heavens’?”

”Aren’t you all being a little too merciful?”

”Do you think the Blood Palace will let bygones be bygones if you do this? Or is it that you find killing too sullied a business and have lost the stomach for it now?”

The Sect Leaders followed the voice and saw a figure appear in the pass, a hundred zhang away.

With just a few flashes, he was before them.

Looking at the youth’s face and remembering the clean, efficient way he had just slaughtered the Blood Evil Elders, the Sect Leaders didn’t dare act high and mighty. They all cupped their fists in unison:

”We will naturally follow your command, young friend.”

”I don’t have many commands. If I have to give one, it would only be a single word.”

Wu Chen said coolly, ”Kill!”

His voice wasn’t quiet, nor did he deliberately try to hide it. It fell clearly on the ears of many Blood Slaughter Sect members present.

Immediately, someone cried out with a pained expression:

”My lord, we were forced into this!”

”That’s right, my lord! We were coerced into committing those evil deeds.”

...

The voices became a clamor until Wu Chen’s cold gaze swept over the crowd, and they fell silent.

A cold sneer hung on Wu Chen’s lips.

’If these ten thousand people truly wanted to leave, could fewer than seventy Elders have possibly stopped them all?’

’They clearly latched onto the Blood Slaughter Sect for protection and achieved what they have today. Now that the sect’s leaders have been executed, they want to wash their hands of it all!’

”You’re right. You were forced into this. So I’ve decided to let you go.”

Wu Chen nodded and said something that sent the crowd into an uproar.

Even the four Sect Leaders were stunned for a moment.

’Didn’t he just firmly say ’Kill’ a moment ago?’

’Why the sudden, drastic change of heart?’

But then Wu Chen continued:

”Although I’ll let you go...”

”...the two Blood Blades in my hands have no intention of doing so!”

He bared his teeth in a grin.

”If you have something to say, go tell it to the Blood Blades in my hands!”

With that, Wu Chen, wielding the two red blades, leaped into the crowd of Blood Slaughter Sect members.

With a single, spinning twist of his body, countless heads flew into the air. Blood Qi shot to the sky, and a crimson mist filled the air.

He was setting an example for the righteous cultivators.

Kill!
