Martial Dao: Peace by Force

Chapter 107: Chapter 91: You Want to Die? Then I’ll Grant Your Wish

”I figured. On my way back from the dojo last night, I heard the explosion. It was pretty loud...” Wan Ze said simply.

Zhai Jia sighed heavily on the other end of the line, sounding frustrated. ”Sometimes, it’s not that I want to curse them out, it’s that these guys are just that rotten! They can even set off mortars and explosives in Holy City... and they fucking blew up an armory! Are they blind? Where are the defenses? The border checks?

Forget it, I won’t talk about this stuff. Anyway, you be careful.

Contact me immediately if anything happens. I’ve already briefed Master. He’s arranged for someone to look after Xiaoming, so don’t you go, or you might get tailed. The Secret Palace sent a lot of experts this time. Last night, Brother Yu ran into two Refining Viscera Realm masters by himself and nearly bit the dust.”

”Is Brother Yu okay?” Wan Ze asked hurriedly.

”Minor issue. He just ran so fast he wrenched his balls, otherwise the other guy wouldn’t have gotten away.” Zhai Jia’s tone was odd, as if he was trying not to laugh.

Wan Ze’s mouth twitched. He was silent for a second before saying, ”...I have no words. Brother Yu is mighty indeed.”

”Hahaha, just enjoy hearing that, but whatever you do, don’t tell him I’m the one who told you, alright? Or he’ll skin me alive...”

”What if—and I’m just saying what if—Brother Yu is standing right behind you?”

”Fuck, don’t scare me... Shit! Son of a... I’m hanging up!”

The call ended abruptly.

Wan Ze shook his head and chuckled. He put down the communicator and stood by the window. Bright light shone on the devil’s ivy on his windowsill, making it look lush and green.

Just as he turned to begin his Pile Skill cultivation, a flash of reflected light from the street below caught the corner of his eye. It was a bit glaring.

He frowned slightly.

When he looked down,

the car parked by the roadside seemed determined not to be seen clearly. It quickly started up and drove away, turning into a side street and disappearing.

Wan Ze’s brow furrowed.

’Is it a coincidence...’

’...or am I already being watched?’

He suppressed the doubt in his mind.

Wan Ze then walked to an open space in the room, sank his waist, lowered his stance, and assumed the starting position of his Secret Martial Arts’ Pile Skill. His breathing gradually became long and deep.

As his qi and blood circulated, his mind focused inward. He could even feel the subtle changes in every inch of his muscles as they were being refined.

A rustling sound came from the living room. He knew it must be his sister, Xiaoyu. The little one often snuck snacks when their parents weren’t home. This time, she’d probably found a feast in the fridge.

Wan Ze closed his eyes again.

He continued his Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts cultivation.

But suddenly—

CLANG! A plate hit the floor.

”Brother!!!!”

Xiaoyu screamed, a terror he had never heard before.

Wan Ze’s eyes snapped open. Realizing something was wrong, he acted without thinking. His body’s instincts moved faster than his conscious mind. Pushing off with his feet, he shot forward in the blink of an eye, bursting through his bedroom door.

As splinters of wood flew, he was already in the living room, taking in the entire scene at a glance!

A strange middle-aged man in a gray jacket stood by the entrance, his expression cold. He was toying with the Wan Family photo that sat on the shoe cabinet.

Beside him stood another man with a buzz cut, a lean, tough build, and a vicious glint in his eyes.

Wan Xiaoyu was crouched in front of the refrigerator, her mouth smeared with the remains of a dragon fruit. A shattered fruit bowl lay at her feet. She stared at the intruders in a panic, her small face deathly pale.

Snapping to her senses, she ran barefoot to Wan Ze’s side.

”Go to my room and lock the door!” Wan Ze said softly, giving her a gentle push.

Xiaoyu stumbled into the room, looked back at him, and bit her lip before quickly going inside and locking the door.

From behind the door, she said in a small voice, ”Brother, I’m scared... but you have to be okay!”

Wan Ze kept his gaze forward, not turning back. He stared at the two intruders and said gently, ”Be good. Get under the covers, plug your ears, and count to one hundred. When you’re done, I’ll take you out for a big meal. You can have whatever you want.”

”Okay...”

A muffled reply came from behind the door.

PATTER PATTER PATTER. The sound of her little feet running off to hide under the covers.

Only then did Wan Ze finally look up. ”Secret Palace?”

”It’s a nice photo. I think it would make a good memorial portrait.” The man stared expressionlessly at the family photo, his index finger tracing idly over the glass surface of the frame. His voice was terrifyingly calm.

Then he turned his head to meet Wan Ze’s gaze and said coolly, ”It’s just laughable that you... don’t even know who I am.”

BOOM!

Before the man’s words had even faded, the space in front of him seemed to be crushed by immense force, letting out a deafening roar like muffled thunder.

Wan Ze had moved.

He had no interest, and no time, to listen to this man’s bullshit!

There was no warning, no gathering of power. The terrifying explosive force of a single forward charge was enough to fill the narrow space of the living room with a gale of torn air.

A straight punch, aimed right for the kill!

Seeing this, the buzz-cut man in front of him reacted extremely quickly. The moment he felt the gale on his face, he let out a low shout, took a half-step forward, raised his arm with his hand held like a blade, and chopped down viciously.

Against anyone else, this move might have been perfectly timed and impossible to defend against.

Unfortunately, he had underestimated Wan Ze.

Or rather, he had severely overestimated himself!

This was the monster who had fought against many in Yu Yang and escaped unscathed!

In an instant, Wan Ze had crossed the entire living room. The pressure radiating from him was almost suffocating.

His ordinary figure suddenly seemed like a great mountain appearing before the buzz-cut man.

Five fingers clenched into a fist.

Sinews and bones sang in unison.

There were no complex changes, just the simplest, most violent smashing blow.

Immense, berserk Power gathered in that moment, channeled through his muscles and bones!

Forward, with no retreat!

The buzz-cut man’s eyes shot wide open. He ignored the stinging pain as the wind whipped across his face, his mind reeling in shock.

’Am I... really!’

’This fragile?’

An absurd and desperate thought surfaced, completely beyond his control.

He couldn’t believe it.

Even more, he refused to accept that he was so weak.

He wanted to block.

He wanted to dodge.

But forget dodging; under Wan Ze’s pure, ultimate Power Burst, he discovered to his horror that he couldn’t even muster the ability to move his muscles.

He could only watch helplessly as Wan Ze’s fist landed on his chest.

CRACK!

The sound of the fist striking was short and dull!

The buzz-cut man’s scream didn’t even have time to escape his throat. His chest instantly caved in, his heart as if struck by a sledgehammer.

The blood in his body vibrated wildly, and then his Five Viscera and Six Bowels were pulverized by that unreasonable Power.

He tried to spit blood.

But a large hand clamped onto his chin even faster, forcing it up.

Wan Ze’s face was inches away, his eyes calm. ”Don’t get my floor dirty.”

The buzz-cut man’s eyes bulged. A ”HURK HURK” sound came from his mouth. He wanted to say something, but couldn’t.

His eyes, stained red with blood, stared wide in death.

Wan Ze released his grip, letting the body fall. With his other hand, he swiftly pulled out a nearby plastic bag and covered the man’s head to prevent blood from spraying everywhere. It would be a pain to clean up... and he hated trouble.

From beginning to end, the middle-aged man’s expression never changed, as if the death of a useless piece of trash was nothing to him.

The very instant Wan Ze caught the buzz-cut man’s corpse, the middle-aged man moved. With his fists held one in front of the other, he pounced like a goshawk on a rabbit, striking with lightning speed.

He was so fast he was just a blur.

His five fingers landed on Wan Ze’s right shoulder, aiming to snap it!

He applied vicious force!

”Hm?”

The expected sound of breaking bone never came. Wan Ze simply retreated a step, still holding the buzz-cut man’s corpse. Twisting on his feet, he sealed the plastic bag and shoved the body against the wall. He then quickly splayed his five fingers, brought his hand in front of his chest, and swatted sharply, knocking the man’s hand away.

”Interesting. Now I see why Wang Buzhan died at your hands... He truly was no match for you.”

As the man spoke, he took a diagonal step and tightened his waist. He moved like a coiling python, veins bulging on his skin.

”Wang Buzhan? So that’s what this is about.” Wan Ze charged forward, rushing like a galloping beast. He threw a fierce punch that made the very air explode.

”That’s why you people deserve to die! You’re the ones who start trouble, and you’re the ones who slaughter the innocent! Am I not allowed to fight back?”

The man was brought to a dead stop by the impact. He grunted as Qi Force surged violently through his body, his expression one of astonishment as he looked at Wan Ze.

”You’re courting death!”

He roared, forcibly gathering his qi. One hand seemed to blot out the sky as it pressed down viciously toward Wan Ze’s face.

”You’re the one who’s courting death!”

Wan Ze put his Body Technique into motion. A fist shot up diagonally along the centerline from below the man’s groin. The surrounding gale exploded, making the man’s clothes RATTLE and flap.

The man’s expression changed. ”Treacherous!”

He hastily changed his move to block.

BANG!

Tables and chairs went flying.

The man’s arm slammed against the wall, blasting a crater into it.

”Wan Ze, you’ve been practicing martial arts for three months at most. No matter how strong you are, it’s impossible to get this strong! What kind of fortuitous encounter did you have? Wang Buzhan didn’t die unjustly at your hands, but your growth is absolutely not normal!”

”Childish! The strong devour the weak! There aren’t so many ’whys’ in the world!” Wan Ze’s cold, merciless words filled his ears.

The man, enraged and humiliated, suddenly raised an elbow to smash it into Wan Ze’s head, only to realize the figure before him was an illusion.

He was suddenly shocked.

’How is this possible!’

’He was clearly right here! I clearly hit him with my elbow... but the moment of contact, he turned into thin air.’

’Is this a person?’

’More like a ghost!’

He was terrified. He’d never seen such a technique.

In an instant, a figure appeared behind him like a phantom. Fists struck out in a continuous barrage, leaving countless afterimages in the air.

Tiger Cannon Fist!

Supreme Yang!

It was like cannons firing on level ground—incredibly explosive!

Seeing this level of Killing Fist, the man’s heart sank. He couldn’t dodge it. He had just misjudged Wan Ze’s position, and if he took this punch without any defense, every bone in his body would break, and he would die a violent death.

”Wan Ze, you must be hiding a secret!”

”Even in Dragon Eagle... not even Situ Bai is capable of this!”

”Could it be you’ve also undergone Divinity Transformation?”

In his desperation, the man roared. He activated some unknown Secret Technique, and his muscles bulged grotesquely all over his body. With veins popping, he no longer looked human. His entire right arm swelled to the width of a great crocodile, while his left arm remained as thin as a bamboo pole...

This scene unfolded abruptly.

In an instant, he raised his right arm and blocked Wan Ze’s punch.

BANG!

A dull thud echoed.

The air exploded with a thunderous clap.

The man’s upper body shook violently, and he took a step back.

But...

He had blocked it.

”You... are dead.” The man’s voice had become strange, like the sound of plastic bags rubbing together. He could barely form human syllables.

But the meaning of his words was perfectly clear.

Wan Ze frowned.

’Divinity Transformation?’

’I don’t understand.’

But seeing the man’s appearance, he recalled something Zhai Jia had said before.

’The theory of cellular deification!’

’Could it be... they actually succeeded?’

’Wang Buzhan... Jie Bufan... the research institute... Secret Palace... the theory of cellular deification...’

The clues connected one after another.

He looked at his opponent.

From the very beginning.

He hadn’t intended to destroy anything in the apartment, because he didn’t want his parents to worry.

But it seemed... he now had to go all out.

”Wan... Ze, transform. Use your Divinity Transformation to defeat me. Otherwise... your death will be a painful one.”

The man raised his head, his eyes scarlet. The garbled sounds that came from his throat were completely unhinged.

Just then.

SWISH!

A hand suddenly crossed the distance and pressed flat against his face. In that moment, time itself seemed to freeze.

Wan Ze flashed in front of the man, his voice ice-cold. ”You want to die? Fine. I’ll grant your wish!”

BOOM!

Bricks and stones flew. Amidst a rolling shockwave, Wan Ze grabbed the man’s head with one hand, charged through the living room, through the balcony window, blasting it to pieces, and then launched himself out from the sixth floor!
