Martial Dao: Peace by Force

Chapter 95: Chapter 84: Humanoid Nuke

The sky was hazy and gray, without a single ray of sunlight breaking through.

A sedan sped down the road.

”If you’re tired, get some sleep. It’ll take about three hours to get back to the Holy City,” Zhai Jia said, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.

”I’m not tired. Brother Jia, someone’s calling you.” Wan Ze noticed the communicator in the box next to them vibrating and called out.

”See who it is for me.”

”...It’s Liu Zhengming.”

The two exchanged a sudden glance.

The call had just connected when they heard Liu Zhengming’s urgent voice: ”Zhai Jia, where are you now?”

”What’s up? I’m driving.”

Before Zhai Jia could finish, Liu Zhengming cut in, speaking rapidly, ”I was just ambushed... I’m a little hurt, but I kept one alive. He said there’s another team... they might be coming for you.”

Zhai Jia’s eyebrow twitched. Just as he was about to say something, a piercing whistle cut through the air.

”Get down!”

He yanked the steering wheel hard.

BANG! The driver’s side mirror was shot to pieces.

Liu Zhengming clearly realized what was happening and shouted from the other end of the line, ”Give me your position! I’ll bring reinforcements!”

RAT-A-TAT-TAT-TAT!

A car burst out from the opposite lane, crossing the median strip... with several more right behind it!

The doors were flung open, and at least a dozen gun barrels opened fire, spraying Wan Ze and Zhai Jia’s vehicle with a hail of bullets.

The communicator had long since been sent flying somewhere.

”Ah Ze?”

Zhai Jia reacted quickly. He drifted, sending the car up a small hill and sliding to a stop partway up the slope. Bullets rained down on the small, earthen rise as if they were free, kicking up a dust storm of smoke and dirt.

He turned and shouted anxiously.

”I’m fine.” Wan Ze was dizzy from the car’s violent movements. He waved away the dust in front of his face and said fiercely, ”These bastards just won’t give up!”

”There are guns in the car. Let’s fuckin’ get ’em!” Zhai Jia said, quickly pulling one out.

The enemy’s fire was concentrated.

Even a master of the Refining Viscera Realm like him would be turned into Swiss cheese!

But Wan Ze didn’t take the gun. ”I don’t know how to use one.”

”I forgot.” Zhai Jia slapped his forehead, having forgotten that detail. ”When we get back, I’ll take you to the range. It’s not a bad thing to have an extra Skill to save your life.”

”Let’s just survive today first.”

When the gunfire outside stopped, Wan Ze’s heart sank. He knew they were closing in.

Zhai Jia, however, seemed to have seen this kind of scene plenty of times. He laughed heartily. ”Don’t worry. Your big bro will definitely get you back alive!”

Then he kicked the car door open.

He was the first to charge out, getting up and firing two shots—BANG! BANG!—intentionally drawing the enemy group away.

Wan Ze understood his intention and circled around to the other side, planning to attack from the rear.

As long as their attention was diverted, he would have his chance.

But...

”When I flank them, Brother Jia, be careful with your shots. Don’t blow my head off too.”

”...You can rest a hundred and twenty percent assured, kid! My marksmanship is way better than that guy Liu’s!”

...

BANG! BANG!

Bullets ricocheted off the hard concrete road with a piercing screech. Zhai Jia’s aim was indeed precise; in just a few seconds, he had taken down four men, causing the enemy’s charge to falter.

Wan Ze kept low, his body crouched as he moved along the slope. With his chest close to the ground, he was like a great serpent slithering across the earth at an astonishing speed.

Hiding in the grass, he spotted the gunmen. The group had originally split into two to attempt a pincer attack, but Zhai Jia’s gunfire had forced them back, making them turtle up near the median strip.

He found his moment.

Wan Ze charged forward.

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

He sprinted through the waist-high grass, then launched himself forward.

Someone sharp-eyed spotted him and quickly turned their gun.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Wan Ze’s figure shot out onto the concrete road. Every muscle in his body moved in concert, his reaction speed reaching its absolute peak as he narrowly dodged the three shots.

A string of sparks erupted on the road surface just behind him.

”Watch out!” someone yelled, trying to sound a warning.

Because Wan Ze was too fast.

So fast that he closed the ten-meter distance in the blink of an eye.

The rushing wind he created carried the savage, bloody scent of a demon.

The man closest to Wan Ze’s eyes widened. Out of instinct, his gun hand and shoulder jerked.

Every second counted.

BANG!

The bullet grazed past Wan Ze.

At the same instant, Wan Ze’s hand struck the man’s shoulder. The bone was instantly shattered, and the flesh, muscle, and skin were pulverized into a bloody mess, as if he’d been run over by a high-speed train.

The man’s eyes bulged from the pain, and half of his body went completely numb. Before he could even regain his footing, he was grabbed and violently thrown like a sandbag toward his companions.

Wan Ze’s Tiger Cannon Fist was already ferocious and unyielding. Boosted by the Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts, which provided a perpetual-motion-like Effect for his Burst Skill, he could punch through a thick steel plate, let alone a person!

A bloodcurdling scream rang out.

More men noticed Wan Ze and tried to raise their guns to shoot. At that moment, Zhai Jia charged out from the other side, coordinating with Wan Ze to start a pincer attack with steady, aimed shots.

Wan Ze constantly shifted his position, using his instantaneous movement to dodge three or four more bullets in a flash.

With Zhai Jia charging out and drawing a good deal of the firepower, Wan Ze had more opportunities to unleash his skills.

But he didn’t dare stop.

At a time like this, the slightest pause meant he’d be fed a dozen ”peanuts.”

He had to end this fight quickly!

At this moment, the only thing Wan Ze was grateful for was the Vigorous Energy Effect granted by his Taming the Tiger Vajra Skill. Otherwise, with this level of continuous bursts, he’d be courting death.

Wan Ze suddenly sidestepped, clamped down on the arm of the man in front of him, and snapped his gun hand. With his other hand, he grabbed the man’s hair and dragged him along.

”Fall back! Don’t let him get close!”

A woman’s voice suddenly came from the side. As she spoke, she was the first to retreat, turning her gun and firing a shot in Zhai Jia’s direction.

Zhai Jia was also closing in, firing constantly to create room to maneuver. The moment he saw the blonde woman shoot, he swerved, his feet digging a trench in the dirt as he dove onto the concrete road. He returned fire, quickly emptying his magazine.

Without even looking, he dropped his gun and snatched another from a corpse on the ground.

It was a good thing they were both so skilled. If it had been Lei Ming here instead, he would have been turned into Swiss cheese long ago.

Seeing Zhai Jia continue his sharpshooting, Wan Ze let out a sigh of relief. ’Thank god Brother Jia is so reliable. Looks like... the advantage is no longer theirs!’

”A bunch of trash!” the blonde woman cursed, furious as she watched her men dwindling in number.

Her magazine was empty too.

By now, almost everyone was out of ammo.

Most of them threw down their guns and pulled out melee Weapons.

”I’ll deal with this slippery brat!” A burly, dark-skinned man drew two short blades from his waist, one in each hand, and charged at Wan Ze with a vicious glare.

But suddenly, Wan Ze vanished from before his eyes, as if he had disappeared completely.

”How... could this be!”

The man’s expression froze. He had been about to charge forward, intercept Wan Ze, and kill him by force, but the man had just vanished... It was too bizarre.

”Watch out!” the blonde woman’s urgent cry rang out.

’Watch out for what?’

The man wanted to ask, but a massive shadow suddenly fell over his peripheral vision to the left. A chill went down his spine.

He sensed danger.

Acting cautiously, he tried to strike first.

But...

compared to Wan Ze’s speed, he was far too slow!

’This is what instantaneous movement is!’

’Within my range of movement, I am a god!’

Up close, BOOM!

A massive iron fist landed unceremoniously on the man’s cheek, instantly shattering his nasal bone, cheekbone, and entire palate!

Blood exploded outward, spraying all over the face of a nearby gunman, who froze in place, completely stupefied.

The burly man didn’t even have a chance to cry for help. His head looked like it had blossomed.

SWOOSH!

But Wan Ze wasn’t done with him. He grabbed the collar on the man’s back and violently hoisted the six-foot-one, 220-pound giant into the air!

Like a scarecrow, he was swung up by Wan Ze and brutally thrown toward an area where many of the enemies were gathered.

”You’re courting death!”

The blonde woman roared with fury.

She wished she could blow Wan Ze’s head off with a single shot, but she was also out of bullets. She quickly drew a black dagger from her waist and charged, intent on killing him.

But Zhai Jia had already charged in from the other side like a tiger among sheep, giving her no such opportunity.

A ferocious aura swept out. When this Refining Viscera Realm Martial Artist truly let loose and went on a rampage, it was far more shocking than when Wan Ze had witnessed Lei Ming in action!

At close range, one of the gunmen’s torsos exploded from the inside out, his ribs piercing through his lower back...

Blood sprayed everywhere.

The blonde woman’s breath caught in her throat as she watched.

’I miscalculated!’

Humiliated and enraged, she suddenly turned her head and shouted, ”Are you still not going to show yourself? Are you going to wait until we’re all dead?”

”Heh. Foolish woman. This is your plan?” A scornful voice suddenly spoke up. A man in a black trench coat strode forward, grabbed a car parked on the median strip as easily as if lifting a sandbag, and with a flick of his wrist, threw it.

The two-ton vehicle let out a sharp whistle as it flew like a cannonball, crashing down in front of Zhai Jia in the blink of an eye. His advance halted, and he was forced to dodge.

Seeing Zhai Jia blocked, the blonde woman secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

If she were to fight Zhai Jia one-on-one, she’d be no match for him at all.

God knows how she brought so many men with so many guns and still couldn’t kill the bastard!

No wonder his assessed threat level was higher than Liu Zhengming’s!

But!

Her eyes suddenly fixed on Wan Ze with venomous hatred. Because of this detestable guy, half of her trusted subordinates were already dead or wounded.

”I’ll deal with this kid! You take the one in the back!”

She didn’t look back, completely ignoring the expression on the face of the man in black who had just appeared.

The man in black glanced at Wan Ze, a thoughtful look in his eyes, as if he’d seen him somewhere before but couldn’t quite place him. ”People from Dragon Eagle aren’t that easy to deal with. You foolish woman, just stay put! I’ll kill them both. I won’t steal your credit!”

”He killed my men! I have to kill him myself!” the blonde woman said with a cold face, not slowing down in the slightest. She completely ignored the man in black’s warning, reversed her grip on the dagger, and charged at Wan Ze.

Wan Ze, who was currently surrounded, acted as if he hadn’t even seen her. His Tiger Fist smashed forward with unstoppable Momentum, shattering the heart of the gunman in front of him before he grabbed on.

From the side, he caught an arm that was swinging a knife down at him. His five fingers dug in like hooks, and the arm was instantly drenched in blood as its owner let out a shrill scream.

And at that exact moment, the blonde woman seized her opportunity, slashing down with her dagger!
