Make the Immortal Sect Great Again

Wang Ping’s intuition, born of his Divine Intent, soon stirred. It wasn’t a sense of danger, however, but rather a bizarre premonition that it was ”time to eat.”

’It’s a pity the First Seat isn’t here.’

A True Monarch had sent him directly into the Star Grave Sand Sea this time. Although the First Seat had promised to come as well, she would likely have to travel the slow way.

Without the First Seat, he was short one apex combatant. Wang Ping decided it was best to play it safe. He immediately took flight, fleeing as a streak of light. His pursuers seemed to realize his intent; their speed surged sharply, drawing close enough that his divine sense could already capture their flight trails.

”Heh heh...”

Sure enough, here they came.

Wang Ping was in no hurry. He fled a little further before finally coming to a halt. Soon after, his pursuers caught up, revealing the figures of Luo Chang and his two companions.

”Fellow Daoist, why the rush to leave?”

Luo Chang stepped forward first, his divine sense locking directly onto Wang Ping with an utterly cold and ruthless killing intent. Wang Ping felt quite baffled.

”May I ask you three fellow Daoists, how exactly have I offended you?””None at all,” Luo Chang said, shaking his head. ”It is just that we are refining a secret slaughtering artifact, and we require a fellow Daoist’s life as the material. If you must blame someone, blame your own bad luck.”

”This...” Wang Ping tilted his head innocently and said softly, ”You three must be Qi Nurturing practitioners of the Wuwei Buyi Dao Field, right? Actually, I came here to help you.”

”We’re on the same side.”

On the same side?

Luo Chang stared blankly for a moment, then sneered.

”Isn’t that even better? Once I refine your life, you can naturally become part of the Immortal-Felling Sand of the Mystic Art. You will still be contributing to my dao field.”

He didn’t believe a word Wang Ping said. The Wuwei Buyi Dao Field was in a state of absolute decline; what Qi Nurturing practitioner would willingly offer their allegiance? Even assuming one did, it would be a drop in the bucket. It was far better to kill him and refine him into the Immortal-Felling Sand—that way, his contribution would be a little bigger.

Thus, his killing intent remained absolute.

Hearing this, Wang Ping’s face lit up in sudden realization. ”Makes sense. Sometimes dead people are more useful than living ones. That counts as contributing to the dao field, too.”

”As long as you understand!”

Luo Chang couldn’t be bothered to waste any more breath. His figure flashed as he closed in on Wang Ping, ready to unleash the Soul-Fixing Mystic Execution Blade and strike him down when he least expected it.

Then he saw another person appear behind Wang Ping.

’Hm?’

In a split second, Luo Chang’s pupils shrank. He realized something was wrong, but the arrow was already on the bowstring; he had no choice but to loose it. He poured even more power into activating his Spiritual Treasure.

”Sever!”

Within thirty zhang, the might of the Soul-Fixing Mystic Execution Blade was unquestionable. Even if the opponent had an extra person, it would at least buy him some time...

In the next second, all of Luo Chang’s calculations were utterly crushed.

Every thought and plan he had before making his move, all the profound countermeasures he had prepared in his mind, were instantly smashed to pieces by the scene suddenly unfolding before him, plunging him into an icy abyss.

”I invite the Hundred Treasures Great Abundance Granary to open its doors.”

A resplendent golden portal opened under the manipulation of Tao Shaobo’s Yin Spirit. Immediately after, the Soul-Fixing Mystic Execution Blade that Luo Chang had placed such high hopes in flew straight through the doorway.

Then, it vanished.

This was the terrifying aspect of the Earth Yin Gold’s Qi of Concealed Brilliance and Stored Essence. Combined with the Hundred Treasures Great Abundance Granary, its profound enhancement could harvest all treasures in the world!

Wang Ping had previously learned this exact detail through the Calamity of the Lost Dao. That was why he had struck at him first, utilizing the worldly environment of heavy earth and arid water to suppress him. The opponent was heavily injured and forced out of the fight before he could unleash even a sliver of his profound power. Had Wang Ping let him attack with his full strength, the outcome might not have gone so smoothly.

”Clang!”

The portal opened and closed, vanishing without a trace. Luo Chang stood completely frozen. His sense of danger instantly morphed into a bone-piercing chill that swept through his entire body.

’Where is my Spiritual Treasure?’

Luo Chang’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

’It’s gone? How is that possible! You must be joking... No, wait, that granary, such a profound phenomenon... It’s those Qi Refining practitioners from Biyang’s Immortal Gate!’

On the other side, Luo Wei and Luo Zhen hadn’t even reacted yet. They only felt that their senior brother’s methods were supreme, wielding the Soul-Fixing Mystic Execution Blade with sublime mastery. Look, in just the blink of an eye, even the blade itself had vanished! This just proved how fast it was, completely exceeding the limits of their divine sense...

Then they heard a deafening sound—

”Boom!”

Fully aware that the situation had gone entirely wrong, Luo Chang detonated himself on the spot without a shred of hesitation. The terrifying flare of the explosion instantly illuminated the Cosmos.

Under the cover of his self-destruction, his soul frantically fled without another word, lacking even the spare time to care for his junior brother and sister.

Yet before he could fly very far, he saw a person waiting for him up ahead. The man held a dark pot in his hand, its mouth deep and abyssal. Seeing Luo Chang fleeing his way, the man flipped his palm, and the pot instantly descended over him like a Bottomless Abyss. Reduced to a mere soul, Luo Chang had nowhere to hide.

The Abyssal Nether Pot!

”Take him!”

Spiritual light dazzled in the eyes of Chu Tianqiu’s Yin Spirit. He formed a hand seal and pointed, capturing Luo Chang’s soul on the spot. He then plugged the pot, denying him even the slightest chance of escape.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Seeing Luo Chang detonate himself and run, Luo Zhen and Luo Wei finally reacted. But to their despair, they found themselves completely surrounded.

Jing Lang, Faji, Tian Han, Su Po.

Four Qi Refining Yin Spirits. Even lacking sentience, just unleashing a full-force strike under Wang Ping’s command imbued them with unrivaled might.

At the very least, these two Qi Nurturing practitioners, long since excluded from the orthodox lineage, couldn’t block it. Their Dharma bodies were shattered one after another. Then, Chu Tianqiu’s Yin Spirit guarding the perimeter caught them both with flawless precision, tossing them into the Abyssal Nether Pot. The addition made the Spiritual Treasure look slightly bloated as layers of profound power surged within.

Normally speaking, one could only suppress them at this stage.

At the levels of Qi Refining, Qi Nurturing, and Qi Consuming, the Dao Foundation was the key. Only by using the Dao to execute someone could they truly be killed; myriad profound powers could injure them, but killing them was immensely difficult.

Fortunately, Wang Ping had a targeted method.

The Calamity of the Lost Dao!

Three Qi Nurturing practitioners, all trapped inside a Spiritual Treasure, their Dharma bodies shattered, leaving only their souls. It was the absolute definition of ”calamity layered upon peril,” perfectly aligning with the conditions of this karmic manifestation!

In the next second, driven by this karmic momentum, the hidden secrets of Luo Chang’s, Luo Wei’s, and Luo Zhen’s Dao Foundations flashed through Wang Ping’s mind. He immediately took out the Drum of Purging Vice and Quelling Turmoil and beat it—thump, thump, thump! At the same time, he preached Daoist doctrines, riding the drumbeats to blast entirely into the Abyssal Nether Pot.

The entire combo was silky smooth and flawless.

”Boom!”

With a loud blast, the agonized screams of the three Qi Nurturing practitioners plummeted from a high-pitched wail to dead silence. When he opened the Abyssal Nether Pot, all that was left was a wisp of smoke drifting away.

Slain to the last!

Only after finishing all this did Wang Ping wave his hand, collecting the storage bags, blood, and bones left behind by Luo Chang’s trio. He then formed a hand seal and chanted the Dao:

”Deep in the Nine Earths of the Yellow Springs, the Netherworld opens its Ghost Gate.”

Rumble!

Billowing mystic qi drifted out, reaching into the netherworld to reverse life and death. Before long, three figures stood up from within the mystic qi and bowed with stiff faces:

”We greet the Lord!”

Seeing this, Wang Ping stroked his chin. ’Sure enough, Qi Nurturing practitioners are the weakest. Although they are stronger than Corpse Dissolution Immortals, their strength is very limited. They are far inferior to Qi Refining practitioners.’

It was firmly a low-tier lobby.

’Looking at it this way, my chances of roaming free like a dragon here are very high.’

At this thought, Wang Ping felt a little excited. After all, it had been a very long time since he’d gotten to stomp some noobs. Every match had been a high-tier lobby where he couldn’t afford to slack off for a second.

Although this life tribulation seemed to be a high-tier lobby with True Monarchs, Bodhisattvas, and Dao Monarchs all jumping in, it wasn’t bad to relax and crush some scrubs in a low-tier lobby first.

’But I just arrived at the Star Grave Sand Sea, following my True Monarch’s orders to make the Wuwei Buyi Dao Field great again. Yet before I even entered the dao field, I killed three of its Qi Nurturing practitioners...’ Thinking of this, Wang Ping felt a bit apprehensive. ’That ancient Dao Monarch won’t blame me, right?’

Hmm, probably not.

After all, even though they were dead, they could continue to contribute their worth as Yin Spirits. From now on, they could even dedicate themselves to the dao field without any fear of death.

Strictly speaking, they were much more useful than living people!

With this thought, Wang Ping put his mind at ease.

After refining the Yin Spirits and collecting the spoils of war, he quickly cleaned up the scene. Then, he activated Free and Unfettered Wandering and vanished from the spot in the blink of an eye.

............

The Wuwei Buyi Dao Field.

Following the guidance of Luo Chang’s Yin Spirit, Wang Ping quickly found his destination. Looking out, he saw a celestial body situated in the depths of the sand sea.

Then, he saw an unbelievable sight.

”That is...”

Hanging above the celestial body was a halo of gentle radiance, cascading ten thousand rays of gray light. It illuminated this dead, gloomy, and desolate corner of the Cosmos.

That seemed to be a profound phenomenon.

No, it was fire qi... Still not right. It was deceptively similar, yet it didn’t match any of the three talents of Heaven, Earth, and Man. The sight made Wang Ping’s eyes widen.

”What is that?”

Wang Ping looked directly at Luo Chang’s Yin Spirit beside him.

The latter had already had his sentience restored and was unfailingly loyal. Yet when mentioning the sun suspended in the Star Grave Sand Sea, he still spoke with pride:

”That is the only sun in the Star Grave Sand Sea.”

”It is a profound phenomenon constructed by the Dao Monarch himself from fire qi, then hung above the dao field. It closely resembles the qi of heaven and earth, yet transcends it!”

”What is it called?”

Wang Ping’s eyes were bright. ”It has a bit of the flavor of Heavenly Yang Fire, yet it lacks the dynamic changes of Yin and Yang, and even the positions of the three talents are blurred. It feels more like pure five-element fire qi. Is it called Heavenly Fire?”

”No.”

Luo Chang’s Yin Spirit shook his head.

”It is called the Fluorescent Bank Willow!”
