Make the Immortal Sect Great Again

”The Void Joy Non-Dual Guardian Consort Talisman?”

After hearing Wang Ping’s description, surprise flashed across Jin Hai’s face, quickly followed by a newfound trace of admiration in his eyes.

’Incredible!’

’To be granted this talisman means the Great Joy Wisdom King was extremely satisfied with his abilities. Does that mean... forty-nine heavenly maidens was actually a low estimate?’

’Only a cultivator who remains fierce and vigorous, with energy to spare after successively defeating forty-nine heavenly maidens, could earn the Great Joy Wisdom King’s praise and be awarded the Void Joy Non-Dual Guardian Consort Talisman. Even in the Brahma Nation, such a man is a rare sight—a prodigy seen once in ten thousand years.’

A prodigy of dual cultivation!

A man like him was virtually destined to earn the favor of the Great Joy Bodhisattva in the future. If nothing else, reaching the Meditative Concentration Realm would be effortless for him.

At that thought, Jin Hai’s attitude warmed even further.

After all, he himself was a prime example. As a Brahma Cultivator serving under the Great Golden Wheel Wisdom King, his own aptitude had similarly earned the Wisdom King’s favor and praise.

’With the Wisdom King’s high regard and the destiny of a True Transmission of the Immortal Gate, given enough time, this man might just stand on equal footing with me. It’s the perfect chance to build a good relationship.’Jin Hai affectionately patted Wang Ping on the shoulder and smiled. ”You’re currently undercover in the Eight Trigrams Furnace and will have to return soon. Taking such incredible risks—are you facing any difficulties? Just tell your Martial Uncle! As long as it’s within my power, I will definitely find a way to solve it for you!”

’He’s trying to win my favor?’

Wang Ping naturally noticed the sudden shift in attitude. ’It seems this Void Joy Non-Dual Guardian Consort Talisman is of a rather high grade,’ he mused.

”Then I’ll have to thank you, Martial Uncle!”

Since the other party was taking the initiative to show goodwill, Wang Ping was more than happy to play along. He lowered his voice. ”Martial Uncle, my master possesses a supreme treasure that conceals the secrets of heaven.”

”Could you see about getting one for me too?”

”A Fate-Fixing Bead?”

Jin Hai frowned slightly and let out a sigh. ”It’s not that I don’t want to give you one, but the Fate-Fixing Bead is a precious treasure of the Great Tara Wisdom King.”

”The Brahma Nation has a rule: they can only be given to disciples infiltrating the Eight Trigrams Furnace.”

”Although I have them on hand, I can’t just hand one over. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to justify it in the subsequent reports. If they investigate the violation, it’ll cause a lot of trouble.”

”Is that so?”

Wang Ping thought for a moment. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he smoothly shifted the conversation. ”To tell you the truth, I actually have two people to thank for bringing me to you, Martial Uncle.”

With that, Wang Ping opened his hand.

The souls of the two Brahma Cultivators, Kongbei and Zongji, floated out and attached themselves to paper dolls. Seeing this, Jin Hai frowned and took an imperceptible step back.

Upon seeing Jin Hai, the two monks immediately dropped to their knees, bowing their heads in a flood of tears. ”This lowly monk greets True Transmission Jin Hai. We are the guards of the Eight Treasure Table...”

The two then recounted their ordeal in detail. Jin Hai nodded slightly. ”I see. Then we really do have to thank you two. It was my martial nephew who acted out of line, casually detaining you like this and disregarding proper decorum. Please don’t take offense.”

’As if we’d dare!’

The two monks wailed inwardly, though they also breathed a sigh of relief. They stole a quiet glance at Wang Ping. From the looks of it, had True Transmission Jin Hai already accepted this guy as one of their own?

That was good news.

If he was one of their own, then everything they had spilled earlier was just friendly chatter between comrades, rather than an act of cowardly betrayal against the Brahma Nation in favor of the Immortal Gate.

Meanwhile, Wang Ping continued, ”Martial Uncle, my visit this time is an absolute secret and cannot be leaked. These two grandmasters have already seen me. Given what happened... just in case, I want to bring them back to the Eight Trigrams Furnace with me.”

”Huh?” The two monks froze.

Go undercover in the Eight Trigrams Furnace?

Us?

Jin Hai was also taken aback for a moment. Then, as if realizing something, surprise flashed across his face before melting into a meaningful smile.

”It’s true, they have already seen you, Martial Nephew.”

”If someone with ulterior motives were to discover them and search their souls, your intelligence would be compromised. So, they either leave with you, or they enter the cycle of reincarnation...”

Before he could even finish, Kongbei and Zongji—who had just been the picture of cowardice—leaped up and shouted, ”True Transmission Jin Hai, we are willing to go undercover!”

”Are you really?”

Jin Hai offered a half-smile. ”Please, don’t force yourselves.”

”Not at all.” Kongbei and Zongji shook their heads, their tone entirely righteous. ”This is a righteous cause! For the Great Brahma Heaven, we are willing to do anything!”

”Good. Commendable courage.”

Jin Hai nodded and turned to Wang Ping, who smoothly extended a hand. ”Martial Uncle, look. You now have two undercover disciples.”

”Amitabha.”

Jin Hai’s smile grew even wider. Reaching into his sleeve, he drew out a string of softly glowing prayer beads and placed it in Wang Ping’s hand. ”Martial Nephew, you understand things with just a hint.”

If he had previously only thought Wang Ping might one day stand on equal footing with him, Jin Hai was now absolutely certain of it. With such a sharp mind for exploiting loopholes to secure benefits for himself, this man’s future in the Brahma Nation was utterly limitless!

”Thank you, Martial Uncle!”

Wang Ping accepted the Fate-Fixing Bead and seamlessly tucked it away. ”These two grandmasters won’t need it for now. I’ll just hold onto this supreme treasure for safekeeping.”

After saying that, he cast a glance at Kongbei and Zongji.

Although the two monks were salivating over the Fate-Fixing Bead, they knew exactly what to say when they saw his look. ”Such a supreme treasure—thank you, Milord, for keeping it safe for us!”

”It’s nothing, really.”

Wang Ping was gradually getting a feel for the culture of the Brahma Nation. He waved a hand in a show of modesty. ”It’s a heavy burden, of course, but for the sake of the Brahma Nation, a little hard work is to be expected.”

And so, both guest and host were thoroughly pleased.

But since he was already here, Wang Ping naturally wasn’t going to stop there. He immediately spoke up again. ”Also, Martial Uncle, to be perfectly honest, I’m also proficient in False Form.”

”I was wondering if you could invite a Great Sage from the Eight Great Royal Clans of the Royal Court so I could carefully observe them? I’ve been fascinated by those bloodline spells for a long time.”

Jin Hai furrowed his brow.

”False Form... You certainly have a massive appetite, Martial Nephew. You want to use that spell to simulate royal bloodlines and learn all of their bloodline spells?”

”Is that not allowed?” Wang Ping asked in return.

”It is, but there’s no point.”

Jin Hai shook his head. ”To us Brahma Cultivators, spells and Divine Powers all originate from the Great Brahma Heaven. There’s no need to seek them outside; one only needs to offer sincere worship.”

”As for immortal cultivators.”

”Having more spells isn’t actually better. Ultimately, you still have to combine different spells to transcend the heavenly tribulation and forge them into Divine Powers.”

Hearing this, Wang Ping immediately cupped his hands in a genuine request for guidance. ”To be perfectly honest, Martial Uncle, I have already cultivated five spells: Qi Restriction, Soul Pursuing, Soul Seizing, Great Strength, and False Form. Yet I have absolutely no idea how to combine them, let alone how to forge them into Divine Powers by transcending the heavenly tribulation.”

This was the helplessness of lacking a true inheritance.

Even though he held an Immortal Gate cultivation method that led straight to Qi Refining—the Taiyin Form-Refining Heaven-Ascending Talisman Scripture—none of the truly critical details were written down.

To give a simple example.

Regarding the Tribulation Transcending Second Layer, the book only stated that after practicing the Taiyin Form-Refining Heaven-Ascending Talisman Scripture, the major Divine Power forged would be called the Taiyin Dissolving Divine Form.

But how was it forged? What spells were required? What were the hidden intricacies?

Not a single one was written down!

Even with Wang Ping’s composure, he couldn’t help but curse them as animals when he read that section. How the hell did the Immortal Gate end up like this?

”Hmm...”

Meanwhile, Jin Hai wasn’t surprised in the slightest. After all, in his eyes, Wang Ping was just a lucky bastard with a high destiny; this was simply what happened when one lacked a master’s lineage.

Still, this wasn’t a bad thing. Since the other party was only asking for knowledge, answering required nothing more than moving his lips. He didn’t have to spend a single coin or hand over any treasures. Not only did it save him an expense, but he could also reap gratitude—why wouldn’t he gladly do it?

”Which stream of Qi are you refining, Martial Nephew?”

Jin Hai smiled. ”To be honest, the Twenty-Four Qis are highly classified secrets of the Immortal Gate. While your Martial Uncle here understands a few of them, I don’t know all of them by any means.”

Wang Ping didn’t hide it. ”It’s the Hidden Dragon Meridian-Circulating Nether-Penetrating Qi.”

”Well... well done, well done.”

At these words, Jin Hai laughed. ”You truly have great providence, Martial Nephew. Your destiny is incredibly high. By pure coincidence... I actually do know something about this stream of Qi.”

”This Qi centers on concealment and closure; it is the ultimate yin of the five elements.”

”By the same logic, if you wish to forge Divine Powers, you must select ones that align with the conceptual imagery of this Qi. Otherwise, your magical power and your Divine Powers will repel each other.”

”That...”

Wang Ping frowned. ”Does that mean the moment you choose a stream of Qi when initially refining your magical power, your path is permanently fixed from then on?”

”In most cases, yes.”

Jin Hai shook his head. ”Cultivators belonging to the same stream of Qi are natural allies. I’ve heard there are even people within the Immortal Gate who specifically fight over Qi Fortune.”

”Qi Fortune?”

”Exactly. It’s when cultivators who have refined their magical power and claimed an affiliated Qi slaughter and duel each other in magical combat.”

”The victor gets to represent their affiliated Qi and plunder the Qi Fortune of the defeated cultivator’s affiliated Qi. By doing so, their own affiliated Qi is elevated.”

”At the same time, as the victor, the cultivator receives rewards from their affiliated Qi. It purifies their magical power and grants them even more favor from that Qi... We have a similar situation in the Brahma Nation, except we aren’t fighting for the favor of Qi, but for the grace of the Wisdom Kings, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats.”

”They call it fighting for Qi Fortune, but in essence, they are fighting for the Great Dao.”

Saying this, Jin Hai smiled faintly.

”So, if you’re struggling with how to combine spells and forge Divine Powers, Martial Nephew, your best option is to actually enter the Immortal Gate and fight for Qi Fortune.”

”Once your Qi Fortune is high enough, you’ll be able to resonate with your affiliated Qi.”

”When that time comes, you won’t even need to comprehend it yourself. The Hidden Dragon Meridian-Circulating Nether-Penetrating Qi will naturally tell you exactly how to forge Divine Powers that match and resonate with it.”

”Moreover, Divine Powers forged in this way are the absolute most perfect.”

”I see...”

Wang Ping lowered his eyes, appearing lost in sudden realization.
