Make the Immortal Sect Great Again

”Rumble!”

Dark clouds gathered and lightning flashed. Carrying the rolling, pure yang fierceness unique to spring thunder, the bolts smashed into the peak of Mount Tianzhu, blasting out countless streaks of scattered fire.

Yet facing such heavenly might, Yuan Sheng showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, he trembled with excitement, his eyes locked dead-center on the converging thunderclouds.

”A heavenly phenomenon... It’s a heavenly phenomenon!”

”Someone is drawing a Totem?”

Yuan Sheng could hardly believe his eyes. Was the reincarnated Venerable really this fierce? He was only one year old—a literal baby—and he was already drawing a Totem?

His Six-Eared Clan had been wiped out just yesterday.

And today they were already rising to power?

People always said fortunes shifted every thirty years and never to bully the young for being poor, but wasn’t this a bit too young? Wasn’t this turnaround a bit too fast?

For a moment, Yuan Sheng felt like he was dreaming.A loud crash in the distance finally snapped him out of his daze. He turned and saw a towering silhouette abruptly appear on the open plains.

The man stood in the endless wilderness, bathed in the morning sun. The long shadow cast behind him wasn’t human, but a great roc soaring with spread wings. As the figure moved, sonic booms rumbled through the air, trailing behind because the sound simply couldn’t catch up to his speed.

Yuan Sheng’s pupils shrank.

”A Great Sage!?”

A human form casting a beast’s shadow. This was a phenomenon unique to Great Sages among the heavenly monsters who had condensed their Totems—a testament that they had shed their Mortal bodies.

But why?

Why would a Great Sage come here?

Yuan Sheng couldn’t figure it out. He had guessed pursuers would come to Mount Tianzhu, and he had prepared himself to fight them to buy time for the reincarnated Venerable.

But he never imagined a Great Sage would personally arrive. This was completely beyond his abilities. Facing a Great Sage, the bloodline suppression alone paralyzed him. Fleeing was utterly impossible. All Yuan Sheng could do was watch helplessly as the man approached.

Soon, the newcomer reached the foot of Mount Tianzhu.

His eyes were a brilliant gold. His seemingly casual glance crossed a vast distance and instantly locked onto the trembling Yuan Sheng groveling on the mountain.

”Six-Eared Remnants.”

The man’s voice drowned out the thunder in the sky as it rumbled over: ”The Black Tortoise Great Sage didn’t calculate wrong this time. There really was a variable in the Six-Eared Clan’s extermination.”

”Someone is drawing a Totem?”

”To think the Six-Eared Clan still had such an expert. What a pity you hid it so well. If you had revealed this earlier, we might have chosen a different clan to host the holy communion.”

”But now, the Six-Eared Clan is dead.”

”Leaving an expert like this alive would only be a hidden danger.”

”Truly a pity.”

Hearing this, Yuan Sheng gritted his teeth. He finally recognized the man. ”The Golden Roc Great Sage... A member of the Golden-Winged Great Roc Clan. The khan’s running dog!”

”Just the barking of a defeated dog.”

The man ignored him completely. He just looked up, tilted his head skyward, and a magnificent column of blood qi instantly shot out from his crown, piercing the heavens.

”Screech—!”

The blood qi manifested in midair, instantly transforming into a great roc with golden wings, a leviathan’s head, and panther-like eyes gleaming like stars. It spread its wings and soared upward, riding the clouds—a massive bird stretching for who knew how many thousands of miles.

It was the Golden-Winged Great Roc!

For Great Sages among heavenly monsters, human form was just a layer of skin. Their Totem monster form was their true body. By shedding his Mortal shell and manifesting his true form now, he instantly smashed the thunderclouds in the sky to pieces.

Yuan Sheng’s eyes nearly split open in fury, but he was powerless to stop it. He could only watch as the thunderclouds scattered. Without the power of lightning, drawing a Totem could no longer borrow the might of heaven and earth, immediately dropping the odds of success by thirty percent. With this single strike, the Golden Roc Great Sage had directly severed the Six-Eared Clan’s hope for a revival!

”This is how the world works,” the Golden Roc Great Sage said coldly, his voice echoing like thunder. ”To become a Great Sage, talent and resources alone are not enough. You must also have heavenly timing, earthly advantage, and human harmony.”

”Who asked the Six-Eared Clan to stand in everyone’s way?”

”If you must blame someone, blame your own poor luck.”

Yuan Sheng’s expression was icy, and he let out a cold sneer. ”Poor luck? I think you’re the ones with poor luck, daring to interrupt the reincarnated Venerable’s breakthrough.”

”Venerable?”

The Golden Roc Great Sage paused in surprise before letting out a scoff. ”It seems you’ve gone mad. Did you think a Venerable’s reincarnation was something decided at random?”

”This entire Royal Court and the vast grasslands are, at their core, a wondrous treasure called the Eight Treasure Table. The ’eight treasures’ refer to our Royal Court’s eight clans. Our bloodlines are the highest, favored by the Great Golden Wheel Wisdom King as premium delicacies among blood sacrifices. We must be prioritized for preservation, consumption, and reincarnation.”

”However, the eight clans of the Royal Court haven’t existed since ancient times.”

”Instead, generation after generation of Venerables from the upper realm reincarnated here, cultivating their tribes, expanding and growing them, until they finally formed today’s eight clans.”

”In other words, reincarnated Venerables come here to cultivate new products.”

”As for your Six-Eared Clan, you were long ago eliminated from the ranks of premium goods during the Royal Court’s competitions. You’re defective rejects, already proven to be completely worthless.”

”Tell me, why on earth would a Venerable reincarnate into your clan?”

”Not to mention that this generation’s reincarnated Venerable has already...”

The Golden Roc Great Sage’s voice abruptly cut off, and he froze in place. ...Wait, why was he telling this Six-Eared Remnant so much?

He dared to mess with my mind!?

Instantly, the Golden Roc Great Sage flew into a rage. He whipped his gaze toward Mount Tianzhu. ”It’s you? You actually managed to draw a Totem?”

A deafening crash answered him.

The sound was like a thunderclap, yet also like a furious roar. It carried an unparalleled concussive force and a vajra-like majesty, ringing out like a declaration that could split heaven and earth.

”Zha!”

The next second, the peak of Mount Tianzhu exploded. An overwhelming torrent of blood qi shot straight into the heavens. Everywhere it passed, the world turned crimson, eclipsing even the sun!

”What kind of Totem is this?”

The Golden Roc Great Sage stared in shock. The sheer amount of blood qi was simply too vast. Although its quality couldn’t match his own, the volume was unimaginably massive.

At first, the great roc struggled valiantly against the monstrous blood clouds. It flapped its wings, striking up wind and thunder, and its scattered feathers transformed into countless miniature rocs that darted around, trying to tear apart the blood clouds piece by piece... until a massive, furry hand reached out from within the crimson mist.

”Tai!”

Following the explosive shout, the mountain-sized palm slammed down. It struck true, hitting the roc dead-center and swatting it right out of the sky.

Immediately after, the blood clouds rolled backward, transforming into a billowing cape draped over the back of a silhouette.

He had a hairy face and a thunder-god’s beak, yet he didn’t look ugly. Instead, he exuded a powerful majesty. With a broad chest and wide back, he was clad in sharp armor, and golden light flowed from his eyes.

”A six-eared...?”

The Golden Roc Great Sage’s face was full of confusion. This appearance was completely different from the six-eared spirit monkeys in his memories. Setting everything else aside... where were the six ears?

Soon, however, he lost all mood to care about such details. With the appearance of this brand-new Totem, an even more massive wave of blood qi erupted like a geyser. It flooded the wilderness and surged through the cosmos, spreading toward the ends of the grasslands like a raging wildfire. Neither heaven nor earth offered him a place to stand.

Panic filled the Golden Roc Great Sage’s heart, and he couldn’t help but think:

Could he really be the reincarnated Venerable?

”No, that’s impossible. This generation’s Venerable has already reincarnated, and he even said he would lead the Royal Court south to continue pillaging the human race’s Great Shun Imperial Court...”

How could there be a second Venerable?

It didn’t make sense!

On the other side, Wang Ping paid zero attention to the Golden Roc Great Sage’s thoughts. At this moment, his mind was completely immersed in his comprehension of the Totem.

This was the Totem he had meticulously forged.

Although the Golden Roc Great Sage had dispersed the thunderclouds, Wang Ping had his own magic power to supplement the process. He didn’t care about shifts in heavenly phenomena at all, so he had successfully completed the drawing in the end.

The Heaven-Equaling Victorious Mighty Spirit True Form!

Built on the foundation of the Mind Monkey’s Divine Intent and drawn using heavenly monster blood qi, Wang Ping had added another spell, Great Strength, alongside the Six-Eared Clan’s bloodline magic, Sound Perception.

This was exactly what the Golden Roc Great Sage had felt—an endless source of blood qi. Boosted by the Great Strength spell, the blood qi of this Totem true form had practically reached the absolute volumetric limit for the Great Sage tier of heavenly monsters. Furthermore, it regenerated infinitely, so there was no need to ever worry about running out of energy or strength.

It truly is marvelous.

To me, a Totem is like a suit of armor specially prepared for Divine Intent. Once the Divine Intent takes control of it, it can unleash tremendous power in reality.

Even though the two aren’t actually one entity, and the Divine Intent hasn’t truly merged into reality, the effect is very similar... And under these circumstances, the Totem is less a form of power and more of an external avatar. Looking purely at the Totem itself, it is absolutely a Great Monster with a perfectly clean background.

This gave Wang Ping a few other ideas.

After all, he had heard Yuan Sheng mention that the Heavenly Demon Royal Court’s superiors in the Brahma Nation seemed to have recently gone missing. They were ignoring worldly affairs and no longer paying attention to the Royal Court.

Wasn’t this the perfect opportunity to stir up some trouble?

Of course, the exact methods of doing so would have to be taken slowly.

But for now, he had to demonstrate his power first, because the essence of the Royal Court was still that the strong prey on the weak. Only the strong held the right to speak.

So, how should he prove his strength?

Thinking up to this point, Wang Ping couldn’t help but look at the Golden Roc Great Sage, who was already trapped deep inside the blood clouds. What could be more persuasive than the death of a Great Sage?

”Rise!”

The next second, Wang Ping drove his Totem true form. The mountain-like giant ape opened its massive hand and grabbed hold of the equally towering peak of Mount Tianzhu beside it.

”Rumble...!”

In an instant, a world-shaking tremor expanded outward with Mount Tianzhu at its center. The earth split apart, and boulders plummeted. The devastation rippled across a radius of a thousand miles.

Witnessing this with his own eyes, the Golden Roc Great Sage felt so dizzy his blood qi almost ground to a halt. All he could do was stare blankly as this newly ascended Great Sage forcefully uprooted all of Mount Tianzhu and gripped it in his hand, just like wielding a giant club!

To be precise, it wasn’t just Mount Tianzhu.

It also included the six-eared spirit monkey Totem Pillar located inside the mountain. Its material was no different from a divine weapon, and it was incredibly heavy, perfectly matching Wang Ping’s needs.

”B-Brother!”

Faced with this scene, the Golden Roc Great Sage finally lost control. Throwing away all his pride, he begged for mercy: ”I am a Great Sage of one of the Royal Court’s Eight Banner royal clans!”

”Spare my life, and I can petition the Royal Court to restore the Six-Eared Clan! We’ll grant you the official title of Great Sage, and from now on, the six-eared spirit monkeys will be the ninth royal clan!”

”But if you kill me, it’s tantamount to declaring war on the Royal Court.”

”When that happens, it will be a fight to the death!”

The Golden Roc Great Sage desperately racked his brain for the right words, speaking softly and pleading in a way he had never done before. Yet all he saw was Wang Ping’s calm gaze.

”You think too highly of yourself.”

Wang Ping commanded his Totem true form, gathering endless blood qi into Mount Tianzhu in his hand. He hoisted it high into the air, casting a shadow that completely enveloped the Golden Roc Great Sage.

”I want to see exactly which Great Sage in the Royal Court will dare to fight me to the death after I beat you to a pulp.”

With that said, the mountain came crashing down!

At this moment, Wang Ping didn’t need any magic spells at all. The sheer might of Mount Tianzhu cleaving down onto a skull was enough to rival any killing technique.

”From this day forward, send word to all the clans.”

”I am the Heaven-Transcending Great Sage. Inside and outside the Royal Court, those who submit flourish, and those who resist perish!”
