Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 638: Chapter 282: [Scripture Pavilion: Level 2]_2

If there isn’t enough time to cast the spell, it’s still faster to use a Spiritual Artifact to kill.

So, among these many intermediate techniques, the ones with higher proficiency are mostly evasion techniques.

The only attacking technique is the ”Water Dragon Technique,” the sect’s trump card Secret Technique.

After all, this spell can attack and defend, with extremely good effects.

Furthermore, Ji Yuan sensed that the Level 2 Scripture Pavilion has a hidden effect, which allows cultivation of techniques without having to be inside the Scripture Pavilion.

For a spell like the Water Dragon Technique, its power upon casting is immense, how could one possibly cultivate it inside the Scripture Pavilion?

So, as long as one practices the technique, proficiency can increase anywhere.

This is a great advantage.

The only limitation is that practicing outside cannot enjoy the enhancements from the Enlightenment Room.

In the next few days, Ji Yuan tried cultivating techniques.

He wanted to understand the speed of proficiency improvement for techniques.

After about ten days, he finally figured it out.

The improvement in proficiency relies not just on time but mainly on the number of times the spell is cast.

But it’s not entirely about the number of casts, as it becomes harder to increase proficiency the higher it gets.

For some basic spells with single-digit proficiency, Ji Yuan only needs to cast them about ten times to increase proficiency by one point.

But for basic spells already beyond twenty or thirty proficiency, it might require thirty casts to increase by one point.

For the Water Arrow Technique, it doesn’t even mention anymore.

Ji Yuan bombarded the water outside Wuyou Island hundreds of times but couldn’t increase its proficiency at all.

He could only give up on it.

Intermediate techniques are harder; even some beginner level intermediate techniques with single-digit proficiency require about twenty consecutive casts to increase by one point.

But the consumption of intermediate techniques is substantial, unlike basic techniques that can be cast for a long period.

Thus, it becomes more difficult.

For techniques like ”Black Mist Dispersal,” Ji Yuan had to rely on the enhancements of the Enlightenment Room in the Scripture Pavilion to increase proficiency by one point after fifty casts.

If you can see a progress bar, you can grind!

Just like fighting a boss, as long as you can see the opponent’s health bar, you can kill!

At worst, wait until the war between the righteous and the demonic ends, find a place to go into closed-door training for decades, crazily increase personal proficiency while accumulating some Pill Essence Fruit.

After closed-door training ends, it will be time for him to advance to Core Formation!

As for the effects and upgrade conditions of the Level 3 Scripture Pavilion, Ji Yuan had already reviewed them.

The spirit effects are consistently good, while the upgrade conditions are consistently difficult.

[Scripture Pavilion: Level 3 (Cannot be upgraded)]

[Spirit Effect 1: Accelerated improvement in proficiency of Cultivation Techniques and Magic.]

[Spirit Effect 2: Multitude of methods, balanced cultivation, proficiency in the four major techniques of Pill, Array, Talisman, and Spiritual Artifact can be increased, with better effects when used together with Celestial Craft Square.]

[Upgrade Conditions: Nascent Soul Technique ×3; Golden Core Technique ×30; Foundation Establishment Technique ×150; Tier Four Demon Pill ×1; Tier Three Demon Pill ×8; Mid-grade Spirit Stones ×5000 pieces; at least one technique’s proficiency perfected. (Unfulfilled)]

Although only two spirit effects are displayed, the original spirit effect 2 was merged into spirit effect 1.

In a certain sense, it still has 3 spirit effects.

There’s not much to say about spirit effect 1, as it further enhances proficiency acquisition speed.

Spirit effect 2 is powerful, as the slowest-improving Pill, Array, Talisman, and Spiritual Artifact now directly gain proficiency.

With proficiency, effort will yield reward.

It just consumes a bit more time.

One can only say, this building’s spirit effect... splendid!

Regarding the upgrade conditions, it’s both good and bad. The good part is it doesn’t require a ”Divinity Transformation Technique” right away; otherwise, even if Ji Yuan searched all over Cangluo Continent, he wouldn’t find one.

The bad part is that the upgrade conditions are still strict.

Besides needing a huge amount of Cultivation Techniques, it also requires a Tier Four Demon Pill and for a technique to be perfected.

After completing the Scripture Pavilion upgrade, with Hua Yaoyue not yet returned, Ji Yuan continued to comprehend the Sword Manual using the Level 2 Scripture Pavilion effects.

Once the proficiency of the Sword Manual reaches 90, it means reaching the Peak of Foundation Establishment in cultivation.

When the proficiency of Sword Manual reaches 100, it means cultivation has reached its limit in the Foundation Establishment Stage.

Next, either advance directly to Core Formation Stage.

Or temporarily enter the Fake Pill Realm, planning for Golden Core later.

Thus, the Fake Pill is also known as the Half-step Golden Core.

Except for a very few extraordinarily gifted with Celestial Spirit Root or Earth Spirit Root.

The majority of cultivators choose Half-step Golden Core to boost cultivation.

Although not capable of resisting a true Core Formation Cultivator, it can suppress Peak Foundation Establishment Cultivators steadily.

The so-called Fake Pill refers to condensing an illusory Golden Core prototype in the Dantian.

Spiritual Qi remains in liquid form, which is a transitional phase to solid Spiritual Qi.

Half a month later, not even one proficiency in the Sword Manual was raised, Hua Yaoyue sent a message that she’s back, asking if Ji Yuan is still in the Water Dragon Sect.

Ji Yuan quickly replied that he is. After coming out of the Scripture Pavilion, he shut down the effects of many buildings.

Just as he had Tu Yue return to lie back in the Chaotic Burial Mound, Hua Yaoyue’s form appeared outside Wuyou Island, and she didn’t even enter the island, merely saying lightly outside the array.
