Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 617: Chapter 275: The First Nascent Soul Monster to Die

”Why, you just got back and can’t wait to come here and hold me accountable for injuring your precious disciples?” Kong Xifeng spoke with a hint of sarcasm.

Especially upon learning that Hua Yaoyue refused to stand with the sect, she was even more annoyed.

But what good does being annoyed do?

It can’t change anything.

”If I wanted to hold you accountable, I’d have already torn down your Qingfeng Island. You know this, you can’t stop me.”

Hua Yaoyue turned around, a slight contemptuous smile on her face.

”You!”

Kong Xifeng took several deep breaths out of anger, but she couldn’t come up with any harsh words. Finally, she could only say bitterly, ”I won’t stoop to the level of arguing with you juniors.”

”Heh heh.”

Hua Yaoyue didn’t pay it any mind; after all, it was just the words of a dying person, of little use.

”While traveling outside a few days ago, I accidentally discovered an enormous secret. I was planning to come and inform you, but now it seems you don’t want to know.”

Kong Xifeng: ”...”

”How big of a secret?”

”Not that big, just concerning the survival of the Six Immortal Gates,” Hua Yaoyue said nonchalantly.

”Since it is such a big deal, speak of it quickly!”

Kong Xifeng didn’t believe Hua Yaoyue would lie about such matters, and in any case, she was not one to joke.

Now even she says it concerns the Six Immortal Gates’ survival... things must be more serious, so naturally, Kong Xifeng wanted her to speak sooner rather than later.

”You think I’ll just say it because you tell me to? Wouldn’t that be losing face?”

Hua Yaoyue looked at her with an ambiguous smile.

Kong Xifeng felt a vein on her forehead pulse, and she gripped her walking stick a bit more tightly.

”What... do you want?”

Kong Xifeng said, almost word by word.

”I don’t want anything. If I wanted something, I wouldn’t have come to tell you.” Hua Yaoyue said, shaking her head. ”I just think you spoke too loudly earlier.”

Now that it had come to this, how could Kong Xifeng not understand Hua Yaoyue’s intent?

”Then let me tell you clearly, earlier I spoke too loudly. I apologize for this rudeness, my young lady. How’s that?”

Kong Xifeng thought she hadn’t suffered such humiliation in hundreds of years.

Hua Yaoyue glanced at her, still dissatisfied.

”Kong Xifeng, is this your attitude when asking someone for help?”

After hearing this, Kong Xifeng remained silent for even longer, so long that Hua Yaoyue was about to leave before she hastily said, ”Sorry, I was too loud earlier.”

Hua Yaoyue then nodded with satisfaction.

”Well, can you tell me now?” Kong Xifeng’s tone was flat, with no hint of emotional fluctuation.

”Yes, I can.”

Hua Yaoyue nodded nonchalantly. ”Actually, it’s nothing major, just that the Demon Dao from Shangxi has connected with people from the Jiyuan Continent and is preparing to attack us, Shang Dong, from both sides.”

”Wha... What?!”

Kong Xifeng was momentarily speechless.

”Jiyuan Continent, how dare they? Aren’t they afraid of bringing disaster upon themselves?”

”Why else would it be called the Demon Dao?”

Hua Yaoyue smiled as she spoke.

”No, this news is too significant, I must contact the other old fellows and see what they have to say.” Kong Xifeng paced back and forth with her cane, even considering sending a message immediately.

”Look at you, getting all anxious. I haven’t even finished speaking.”

Watching Kong Xifeng’s reaction made Hua Yaoyue feel some amusement, but it wasn’t quite the right time to laugh. She worried that if she laughed more, the old woman might actually go mad.

”Then just say it, can’t you?”

Kong Xifeng’s hands trembled as she spoke impatiently.

”The Demon Dao from Shangxi, yes, the crazy lady you all refer to, sent someone to find the Nascent Soul Monster across the sea... you should know who the Nascent Soul Monster is, right?”

”I-I know, he isn’t dead yet!”

Kong Xifeng gripped her cane tightly, gritting her teeth. ”That crazy woman had the Nascent Soul Monster go to the Jiyuan Continent? Looks like we’re running out of time to prepare.”

Hua Yaoyue found it even more amusing.

”There are two more things worth mentioning about this.”

This time without waiting for Kong Xifeng to ask, she continued, ”Do you know who contacted the Nascent Soul Monster for that crazy woman? You know him well and have even made several transactions with him; in his past life he went by... Situ Feng.”

”What, it was him!!”

Kong Xifeng felt as if she would crush her cane, gritting her teeth and saying, ”I knew it, people from Shang Court can’t be trusted, can’t be trusted. Old thief Situ, I shall see him utterly destroyed!”

With that, Kong Xifeng took a few steps forward, seemingly intending to leave Qingfeng Island and find Situ Feng to kill him.

But just then, she thought of something and turned to ask, ”And what is the second thing?”

”Oh, it’s nothing. I met the Nascent Soul Monster on the way and casually slapped him to death.”

Hua Yaoyue said offhandedly.

Kong Xifeng, who had been so agitated, suddenly calmed down upon hearing this.

She looked at Hua Yaoyue before her, almost wanting to say... why didn’t you say this earlier!

But she didn’t end up saying it.

She knew Hua Yaoyue clearly came to mock her, especially since she was the one who had antagonized her first, so she deserved to be laughed at.

After a long silence, Kong Xifeng abruptly spoke.

”Regarding this matter, all the cultivators of Shang Dong owe you their thanks.”

”No matter, your Shang Dong Six Immortal Gates will definitely have to discuss this further, just remember to compensate me. After all, I can’t help for free, right?”
