Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 250: Chapter 155: Level 3 [Cave Mansion]; Wish-Fulfilling [Grotto Heaven]

[Fish Pond: Level 3 (Cannot be Upgraded)]

[Upgrade Conditions: Cultivation reaches early Foundation Establishment, Mid-grade Spirit Stones ×30, Mystic Ice Crystals ×3, and pour Tier Two Ice Attribute Demon Beast Blood ×1 pot]

Cultivation has reached the level, but there aren’t enough Mid-grade Spirit Stones. I need to go back to All Things Island to sell a few Demon Pills, then I’ll be able to proceed. The Mystic Ice Crystals and Demon Beast Blood shouldn’t be a big problem either — worse comes to worst, more Spirit Stones will do.

Next up is the Wine Cellar.

[Wine Cellar: Level 2 (Upgradeable)]

[Spirit Effect: Taste of wine +40%; Consuming increases cultivation effects slightly (Effect depends on wine quality); Produces 1 liang of ”Heart’s Desire Wine” daily.]

[Upgrade Conditions: Low-grade Spirit Stones ×80; 10 kinds of Spirit Wine, 10 jars each; Cyan Bamboo Spirit Water ×10 jin; Must master at least 1 brewing method for Spirit Wine. (Achieved)]

Huh?

Unexpectedly, I can upgrade right away, which took Ji Yuan by surprise.

Previously constrained by the last condition, having to master a brewing method for Spirit Wine.

Ji Yuan spent money to acquire the brewing method for ”Drunken Flower Plum Wine” and even brewed it inside the Cave Mansion. But upon entering, he scanned the Wine Cellar with Divine Sense and found that the stored original stock of Plum Wine had been completely ravaged by two Yin Ghosts.

It’s unclear whether they drank it or what, but it’s all gone.

Ji Yuan initially expected failure, thinking a new brew would be necessary, but to his surprise, it wasn’t required!

”Seems like when the Plum Wine was destroyed, it was already brewed. So even if destroyed, it doesn’t affect the panel’s statistical effects.”

The remaining 10 jin of Cyan Bamboo Spirit Water and the various Spirit Wines, Ji Yuan had already gathered when honoring Hua Yaoyue.

Therefore, now... Upgrade!

Three upgrades in one day for Lao Ji — never fought such a prosperous battle before!

As the Wine Cellar upgraded to Level 2, no special architectural appearance emerged. The only difference was a wine pot appearing out of thin air in the cell.

The pot was an ordinary wine pot made of ceramics.

About palm-sized.

Ji Yuan beckoned it over casually.

Inside held 1 liang of wine, the Heart’s Desire Wine produced by the Level 2 Wine Cellar. Ji Yuan was unsure of the nature of this wine, so he popped the cork and tasted it lightly.

Flavor... a bit sweet.

With a noticeable aftertaste.

Like drinking sweet wines such as Osmanthus brew.

But after the sweetness faded, Ji Yuan suddenly felt... something was different.

His mood seemed happier.

Foundation success, Yin Ghost Array up to Tier Two, completing upgrades for three buildings—truly a triple celebration for Ji Yuan.

Upon drinking the Wine Cellar’s wine, Ji Yuan’s already cheerful mood grew even brighter.

The most obvious feature was his uncontrollable smiling.

Heart’s Desire, Heart’s Desire... Does the taste truly change with one’s mood?

If so, this wine is too wonderful.

When happy, a sip makes one happier; when sad, a sip... Well, it worsens sadness.

An average drunkard might not appreciate it, but for a master like himself, it’s fantastic.

No good, drinking it doesn’t raise strength, save it for the master.

Ji Yuan pondered, intending to recork the bottle, then thought of something.

Hua Yaoyue, being female and having turned Wan You Island into a floral paradise, likely favors exquisite items.

Judging by the three jars she used for Spirit Wine. Since it’s a gift for the master, naturally use a more refined pot.

Even a Jade Pot is better than this dull ceramic flask.

So Ji Yuan rummaged through his Storage Bag and found three Jade Pots carved with openwork flowers and plants.

He poured the bit of sampled Heart’s Desire Wine inside; having drunk only a bit, the master likely wouldn’t notice.

Besides, gifting just one pot would seem stingy—Hua Yaoyue might not discern the taste.

Wait a few days, produce more pots, then gift them.

Meanwhile, tidy up Mist Island and ponder the ”Concealing Breath Spell.”

With this thought, Ji Yuan glanced at the panel.

[Wine Cellar: Level 3 (Cannot be Upgraded)]

[Spirit Effect: Wine flavor +60%; Increases cultivation effects upon consumption; Produces 1 liang of ”Unrivaled Wine” daily (Short-term enhancement of spell power by 20% upon usage).]

[Upgrade Conditions: Mid-grade Spirit Stones ×100; Clear Frost ×10 jin; Incineration Water ×10 jin; Must master the brewing methods for at least 5 kinds of Spirit Wine. (Not Achieved)]

Unrivaled Wine?

Indeed, as the name implies, post-drunken power boosts — temporarily enhancing spell power by 20%, seemingly without negative effects.

Great for battle; a sip before fighting heightens everything!

Just can’t overdrink — getting carried away spells trouble.

The upgrade needs mastering of five wines, presenting difficulty.

Better prepare in advance and brew early.

With upgrades complete, the remaining Fish Pond must await a return trip to Water Dragon Sect for upgrade.

Ji Yuan stayed on Mist Island another 5 days, initially planning for 3 days, but unexpectedly, the Enlightenment Room’s effect was too positive.

Intending to briefly ponder ”Concealing Breath Spell,” Ji Yuan unexpectedly mastered it quickly.

Upon exhibiting it at his early Foundation Establishment, his cultivation surprisingly fell to Peak of Qi Refining.

The effect is notably positive.

Useless in the Sect now, but after achieving mid-stage Foundation Establishment, it will be useful.

In the meantime, Ji Yuan pondered over the Sect’s ”Water Dragon Technique.”

A comprehensive spell for attack and defense alike, with too short ponder time, Ji Yuan didn’t grasp it, saving future practice.

Subsequently, Ji Yuan turned off the Star Dust Illusionary Killing Array effects, leaving only Star Spiral Cloud Barrier for island concealment, then summoned the Thunder Falcon Boat, heading north for Water Dragon Sect.

Unexpectedly, even before reaching his island, he received a message.
