Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1391: Chapter 1390: LiuSheng Qianbingwei

Northern Yingzhou, Beichuan Family.

Deep within, inside an ancient wooden hut.

”Ling Chen, he really came!”

A youth dressed in black was filled with joy. Clearly, he had learned the news of Ling Chen’s arrival in Yingzhou and was extraordinarily excited.

The young man in black was none other than Beichuan Ye.

”This Ling Chen is too arrogant.”

By Beichuan Ye’s side stood a beautiful woman with a cold expression. It was Qing Ji. She said coldly, ”This is not the Nine Provinces Land. With such a huge commotion, isn’t he pushing himself into a very dangerous position?”

Challenging the Fengjian Clan, successively defeating Fengjian Hongyi and Ito Zhai, and even slaying a clone of the Hundred Eyes Monster—each of these events was extremely shocking and could shake Yingzhou’s foundation.

Ling Chen, being so ostentatious, was placing himself at the eye of the storm.

”This is the Ling Chen I know.”

Beichuan Ye smiled faintly, a glint of light in his eyes. ”His purpose for coming to Yingzhou is to challenge all the major swordsmanship schools, honing his own Sword Way. The Fengjian Clan is merely an appetizer. His ultimate goal is likely to be the top-tier martial families of Yingzhou.”

”Top-tier martial families of Yingzhou?”

Surprise flashed in Qing Ji’s beautiful eyes for a moment, then she furrowed her eyebrows and said, ”Ling Chen’s strength is not bad, but it’s okay for him to bully second-rate families like the Fengjian Clan. Truly first-rate families possess strong figures above the Five-fold Saint Realm, and even high-level saints in their ranks. If he dares to provoke those top-tier families, it would be courting death.”

Take for example our Beichuan Family, where the family head Beichuan Xiongjie is a Saint Dao Sixfold Realm expert. Some of the older and more established families have high-level saints at their helm. Those ancient monsters, if they take action, it’s no joke.

”He has to take it step by step. Ling Chen is no fool; he naturally knows his limits.”

Beichuan Ye shook his head with a smile, a gleam in his eyes. Although Ling Chen now stirred up a storm in Yingzhou, it was not certain that anyone would come forward to confront him. Suppressing Ling Chen is not easy for even a first-rate family, and who would want to waste effort on him for no gain?

Furthermore, even though Ling Chen’s background is far in the Nine Provinces Land, it is not completely absent. If killing him arouses the anger of Lingyue Island, it would not be a worthwhile affair for many families.

”Ling Chen, before I seek you out, make sure you don’t lose to anyone else...”

Beichuan Ye’s eyes twinkled with determination. He wished he could challenge Ling Chen immediately but knew he wasn’t a match for Ling Chen right now. Approaching him now would only result in humiliation.

However, after he thoroughly comprehends the sword techniques he has at hand, the situation would be different.

By then, he would surely defeat Ling Chen and reclaim his honor.

...

Southeastern region of Yingzhou, Hyuga Island.

On the plain, an imposing ancient wooden castle stood tall, displaying its profound background.

Those passing by nearby knew that this castle was the clan stronghold of the Liu Sheng Family.

At this moment, deep within this castle.

Numerous sharp blades and swords were thrust into the ground, densely packed like a forest made entirely of swords.

And in the center of the forest, a middle-aged man in black samurai clothing sat cross-legged. His brows were like knives, and his presence seemed to be one with the surrounding swords, sharing in glory and misfortune.

”Family Head.”

At this time, a figure dressed in ninja attire appeared out of nowhere, descended, and kneeled before the black-clad middle-aged man, ”We’ve found the whereabouts of the young lady.”

”Oh?”

The middle-aged man slowly raised his eyelids. In the moment of opening his eyes, an unmistakable sharpness flashed out, chilling to the bone.

”Where is she?”

The middle-aged man was none other than Liu Sheng Qianbingwei, head of the Liu Sheng Family and father of Hong Ye.

”She was on Kagawa Island two days ago.”

The ninja reported in a low voice, ”When Ling Chen caused a stir in the Fengjian Clan, the young lady was by his side. Other details match what Liu Sheng Bushou said. Currently, the young lady should be staying by Ling Chen’s side as a servant.”

There was a slight hesitation in the ninja’s demeanor, ”Should we bring her back?”

”No need.”

Liu Sheng Qianbingwei waved his hand, a glint in his eyes, ”She should have her own plans. Moreover, she’s had everything too easy before; it’s time for her to experience some hardships outside.”

”I am concerned that the young lady might suffer grievances,” the ninja said.

”Don’t worry. If Hong Ye truly suffers grievances, it won’t be our Liu Sheng Family that’s anxious, but the Izumo Shrine.”

Liu Sheng Qianbingwei sneered coldly. The purity of a shrine maiden is of utmost importance to the shrine, and Hong Ye is a shrine maiden being carefully cultivated by the Izumo Shrine, destined to become a Great Yin-Yang Master. If she were defiled, everything would be in vain.

By then, the Izumo Shrine will surely not let Ling Chen go.

Liu Sheng Qianbingwei was happy to stay out of it. He sent Hong Ye to the Izumo Shrine merely to foster good relations. But now, the Izumo Shrine’s power has grown too much, with several Great Yin-Yang Masters rising consecutively, threatening the Liu Sheng Family’s dominance on Hyuga Island.

If he could use Ling Chen to weaken the Izumo Shrine a bit, he’d be happy to see it. If Ling Chen couldn’t hold up and was eliminated by the Izumo Shrine, he would suffer no loss.

”Family Head, you’re wise.”

The ninja’s eyes lit up. After figuring it all out, she couldn’t help but admire Liu Sheng Qianbingwei’s wisdom. Using Hong Ye as a pawn, he thought of so much, and regardless of the result, it wouldn’t impact the Liu Sheng Family.

Liu Sheng Qianbingwei waved to the black-clad ninja and said, ”Keep an eye on Hong Ye in secret. If it truly becomes necessary, you can intervene to save her life.”

”Understood.”

After bowing to Liu Sheng Qianbingwei, the ninja’s figure flashed and suddenly disappeared.

After the ninja left, Liu Sheng Qianbingwei mumbled to himself, ”Ling Chen is just a young man. How long can you shine so brightly? I am quite curious.”

Thousands of miles away.

After causing a commotion in the Fengjian Clan, Ling Chen and Hong Ye had already left Kagawa Island and were heading to their next destination.

Sword Prison.

Though Ling Chen now wanted to challenge the top masters of Yingzhou, he knew his current strength made it very dangerous. Before doing so, he planned to go to Sword Prison first. After passing through Sword Prison, he would make his next plans.

”There are less than ten days left until this Sword Prison opens, and if we miss it, we’ll have to wait another six months.”

Standing beside Ling Chen on the back of a red bird-like flying puppet, Hong Ye turned her head and said to Ling Chen.

”We must make it this time.”

A glint appeared in Ling Chen’s eyes. He couldn’t wait six months, and Beichuan Ye had already told him that Sword Prison was a place all genius swordsmen must visit. Inside existed countless manifestations of powerful swordsmen’s wills, with swordsmanship reaching ghostly and godly levels. Not venturing into Sword Prison would diminish half the meaning of this visit to Yingzhou.
