Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1381: Chapter 1380: Sea of Mists

The matter with Kazama Ichiro was just a small interlude, yet it deterred those with restless intentions. After this event, no one dared to disturb Ling Chen and Hong Ye anymore.

Everyone kept a respectful distance, not daring to overstep even slightly in terms of manners.

The atmosphere onboard was just like the sea ahead—calm and peaceful, with no big incidents occurring.

After sailing on the sea for a day, the fleet entered the Misty Sea Area.

Heavy mist enveloped the surrounding sea, making it impossible to see one’s fingers in front of them. Under such dense fog, any sense of direction and insight was useless. To navigate out of this mist-covered sea area, one could only rely on rich maritime experience.

This was the reason Ling Chen and Hong Ye insisted on joining the fleet.

In the following days, Ling Chen continuously refined the residual medicinal power within his body. Prior to this, he had refined a large amount of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures on Fish-dragon Island, some of which had extremely abundant medicinal power that Ling Chen hadn’t completely refined, temporarily stored within his body.

During the voyage, Ling Chen constantly refined the medicinal powers, striving to quickly restore his True Qi to a perfect ten out of ten.

For five consecutive days, the sea was calm and peaceful.

However, the situation suddenly changed on the sixth day.

A terrifying storm descended upon the fleet.

Ling Chen was originally inside the cabin, but upon sensing the violent shaking of the ship, he emerged from the cabin.

Within his sight, the mist was torn into pieces, and in mid-air, an astonishing storm formed a tornado, sweeping in all directions, engulfing the nearby sea area entirely.

Crrr crrr crrr!

Thunderous bolts as thick as pythons crashed down from the Sky, striking into the nearby seawater, creating large whirlpools.

”Our luck isn’t too good; we’ve encountered a lightning storm.”

Beside him, Hong Ye looked at the chaotic surroundings, her beautiful eyes revealing a hint of worry.

Lightning storms are extremely rare, occurring perhaps only once every few years or even decades; they are rare calamity spectacles. Even Hong Ye had never experienced a lightning storm before, only hearing about them. Unexpectedly, they bumped into one today.

”Lightning storm?”

Ling Chen’s eyes slightly narrowed; encountering storms in the Outer Sea should be common, but the storm before him seemed much more formidable than any ordinary storm.

”Everyone, don’t worry; lightning storms come quickly and leave quickly. As long as everyone holds their position, the crisis will soon pass!”

At this time, the voice of the caravan leader was heard from the other side of the ship.

Once these words fell, the panicked atmosphere onboard stabilized significantly. After all, most people on the ship had seen the world and wouldn’t be scared witless by natural disasters.

Ling Chen’s gaze, through the multiple layers of storm and lightning before him, landed on a nearby whirlpool region. Under the full activation of the Golden True Eyes, Ling Chen vaguely glimpsed strands of extremely brilliant colorful lights emanating from the space of that region.

”Hmm?”

Ling Chen’s pupils slightly contracted. From deep within, he felt this energy’s unusual character. Even when merely inspecting with his Mental Power, he suddenly realized the energy’s force and purity; the moment his Mental Power touched it, it was utterly obliterated.

Uttering a muffled groan, Ling Chen staggered backward several steps.

”What happened to you?”

Hong Ye supported Ling Chen, a look of surprise on her pretty face.

She had no idea that Ling Chen had extended his Mental Power to inspect the source of the lightning storm and was injured.

If she knew what Ling Chen just did, she would certainly scold him as crazy.

”You stay here, I’ll go take a look.”

Leaving behind a sentence, Ling Chen suddenly leaped out. The direction he shot towards was precisely that lightning storm’s source region!

”What are you doing, come back!”

Seeing this, Hong Ye was greatly shocked. By the time she reacted, Ling Chen had already gone far—hundreds of meters away.

The strong individuals on other ships also revealed expressions of shock.

This person is simply seeking death!

The lightning storm is something ordinary people avoid; even powerful Saints wouldn’t dare approach. Yet Ling Chen actually dared to voluntarily go near, wanting to investigate—could this be anything but courting death?

At this moment, Ling Chen’s body had already traversed one storm after another. He drove the Golden True Eyes to the limit, activating every cell in his body. Each inch of skin reached peak sensitivity, ensuring he could respond before danger arrived.

Bang! Bang!

Avoiding the thunder’s strikes from above, Ling Chen made rapid progress through the interior of the lightning storm. After galloping for over ten minutes, his body gracefully landed, stopping before that gigantic whirlpool.

Now, before him on the sea, a gigantic whirlpool over a hundred zhang wide was crazily surging, creating towering waves. Above the whirlpool was an astonishing black hole, from which waves of violent gang wind and thunder were released, creating a terrifying storm.

Ling Chen gazed in shock at the black hole before him. Unexpectedly, this black hole was the lightning storm’s source.

On the black hole’s edge, Ling Chen could see thick black crevices, seemingly branded into the space itself, unable to heal over time. From within them emanated waves of fear-inducing energy.

Space rift!

Only Supreme Experts at the Peak Saints level or higher can create space rifts!

Ling Chen swallowed hard, and his gaze fell into that black hole. As his eyes focused for a brief moment, illusory scenes appeared before him—images seemingly not belonging to this world, their scenes like a Fairyland, far superior to ordinary.

The energy waves seemed to come from another world, possessing incomparable destructive power.

”Indeed unusual.”

Ling Chen took a deep breath. Initially, he only guessed the lightning storm’s source was extraordinary, but he didn’t expect to witness such scenes akin to an apocalyptic world.

”This isn’t energy belonging to this world.”

While Ling Chen was internally shaken, the voice of the Human Emperor echoed in his mind.

”This energy likely comes from a higher world.”

”A higher world?”

Ling Chen’s expression slightly changed. Suddenly, he recalled the words said to him during the investiture by the three Supreme Experts.

”We’ll be waiting for you above.”

He remembered that the Human Emperor, Ba Wang, and Senior Taibai Sword Immortal had spoken to him like this.

Then this ”above” must be the higher world the Human Emperor mentioned just now.

The Human Emperor continued: ”This space should be a connection point between Tianyuan Continent and other worlds, which makes the space here extremely fragile. When significant unrest occurs in the higher world, its effects permeate through the spatial barriers to reach here.”

”A connection point with the higher world, huh?”

Gazing at the deep black hole above, Ling Chen realized that this small Misty Sea Area surprisingly served as a connection point between Tianyuan Continent and the higher world?

At this moment, Ling Chen looked toward the Sky. He felt as though he could see another world’s existence through the endless black hole, but unfortunately, all he saw was chaos.

”The Human Emperor, Ba Wang, Senior Taibai Sword Immortal—they’re all in that higher world...”

Ling Chen murmured to himself. The black hole was rapidly shrinking, yet the light in Ling Chen’s eyes was rapidly growing. Each of these names represented a legendary tale. If he could Shatter the Void and journey to the higher world, he would undoubtedly become part of these legends, walking alongside these predecessors!

”You three seniors, rest assured.”

Ling Chen took a deep breath, then turned around and returned, calmly saying: ”I won’t make you wait too long.”
