Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1798: Chapter 1798: Man Yue Side Story (The End)

Man Yue was born during the full moon, so he was named Man Yue.

A perfunctory name, without much meaning.

All of this is because he isn’t the Family Head’s child; he is... Madam Man’s child from an illicit affair with another man.

For a period, the Family Head was maintaining a woman outside and didn’t return home for a long time.

Madam Man, whether out of revenge or because she couldn’t bear the loneliness, had an affair and became pregnant with Man Yue.

Upon returning and finding this out, the Family Head was thunderously angry and executed all those who knew, including Man Yue’s real father.

Madam Man was also severely beaten by the furious Family Head.

Madam Man was heavily injured, yet Man Yue tenaciously survived.

The Family Head wanted to have him aborted, but unfortunately, Madam Man was already injured. If they attempted an abortion, it would endanger her life.

By the time Madam Man recovered from her injuries, the pregnancy was already advanced. Madam Man, full of resentment towards the Family Head, gritted her teeth and gave birth to him.

After Man Yue was born, indeed, there were some issues with his health; he reacted and felt emotions differently from a normal child.

Because the child wasn’t the Family Head’s, naturally he was unwelcome and seen as a shame, but everyone in the mansion who knew had been executed, so they all thought Man Yue was the Family Head’s child.

The Family Head could only swallow his anger.

And Madam Man, who gave birth to Man Yue, initially did it out of hatred towards the Family Head, wanting to irritate him further, and wouldn’t bother much with him.

At that time, Man Yue didn’t understand anything; he only felt his father and mother didn’t like him.

But he had a brother.

His brother treated him well, giving him good food, fun toys, and even coaxing him to sleep.

However...

Man Yue quickly realized, his brother’s affection came at a price.

-

Man Yi played with him, but every time, he would end up being punished.

At first, it was trivial matters.

Man Yue, being young, couldn’t distinguish right from wrong. Every time he got punished, Man Yi would bring treats to him, coaxing him.

But gradually, the situation started worsening, for instance, the incident involving the stolen needle.

It was Man Yi who stole the needle and even experimented on him with it, yet in the end, claimed Man Yue was the thief.

From that moment, Man Yue felt fear towards Man Yi deep in his heart.

Around the age of five, with Man Yi approaching nine, Man Yi was learning martial arts from a master hired by the mansion. He was somehow incited and tricked him.

Before he could react, he was already pinned down.

Man Yi indeed was intelligent from a young age, and Man Yue deeply felt this wit.

That time, he nearly died there, but it was Madam Man who discovered in time and rescued him.

Madam Man didn’t like him; she saved him simply because he couldn’t die by Man Yi’s hand. He was the mansion’s eldest young master, the future heir, and couldn’t bear such a death.

Man Yue recuperated for three months before he could walk again.

But then...

He never felt pain anymore.

Man Yi noticed this, showing no remorse for the harm, only delight. Yes, delight.

”Brother is great, isn’t he?” Man Yi squatted in front of Man Yue. ”The book says at your age, it’s easier to succeed. Look, brother succeeded, and now you won’t feel pain anymore.”

Man Yue stood rigidly, not daring to respond.

”Hmm, why isn’t my brother speaking? Don’t you like brother anymore?” Man Yi leaned forward, his expression innocent yet pitiful. ”Brother really likes you.”

Man Yi’s brows played around, his hand clamped on Man Yue’s wrist with slight force. ”Brother is asking you a question.”

Man Yue’s body shrunk: ”Man Yue... Man Yue dares not dislike brother.”

”Good boy.” Man Yi released him. ”You mustn’t dislike brother, okay?”

Man Yue: ”...”

Man Yi made him lose his sense of pain. At first, Man Yue thought it was a sudden idea from Man Yi, but later... he realized it was all part of Man Yi’s carefully planned scheme.

Without the sense of pain, he bore torture with higher tolerance.

As he grew older, Man Yi’s methods diversified.

In the Man Mansion, he was nothing more than a toy for Man Yi. As long as he wasn’t dead, nobody cared.

His fear of Man Yi peaked.

Man Yi loved wearing blue clothes; whenever Man Yue saw anything blue, he was conditioned to feel fear.

”Brother, don’t you want to see higher and farther? Should brother take you?”

”I don’t want to go...” Man Yue shook his head in refusal.

Man Yi smiled innocently: ”But everything is already prepared. Do you want brother’s efforts to go wasted?”

Man Yue: ”...”

Man Yue knew he couldn’t refuse.

His refusal would anger Man Yi. In the end, he not only had to go but also face punishment afterward.

Upon arrival, Man Yue saw the gigantic kite, a wave of terror surged within him.

And indeed, Man Yi didn’t let his fear disappoint him, binding him onto the kite.

The kite soared high, Man Yue daren’t even open his eyes, his body suspended, as if he could fall at any moment.

About to land, the kite suddenly got diverted by wind, crashed down with him, breaking two ribs, along with countless other injuries.

Man Yi probably thought it couldn’t go on like this, every injury needing a month or even months of recuperation, delaying his fun.

So Man Yi began to make him train in martial arts alongside him.

Man Yue was born with a frail constitution; martial arts were a challenge for him.

Yet Man Yue persisted, thinking if he became strong, his brother wouldn’t torment him anymore.

However, as he practiced martial arts, Man Yi’s tormenting methods grew more inventive.

With a sturdier body, minor injuries didn’t impede him anymore.

Sometimes, he really envied his sister... the little princess of the Man Mansion.

Everyone indulged her.

Even Man Yi truly cared for that sister, fearful she’d suffer any grievance.

”Why are you looking at sister like that?”

One day, Man Yi noticed him staring at the little princess, smiling as he asked.

”Envious?”

Man Yue shook his head: ”No... don’t dare.”

Man Yi laughed, raising a hand to stroke his head: ”Brother, remember, you and sister aren’t alike. You... are just a bastard, don’t let me catch you looking at sister like that again, otherwise, you’ll make brother angry, okay?”

Clearly venomous words, yet he said them so softly.

Man Yue shivered all over, lowering his head, not daring to defy.

Finally one day...

The whole Man Mansion was screaming in agony, yet he was truly happy, happy from the bottom of his heart.

Watching Man Yi fall in front of him, his face stunned.

The youthful man gently and slowly laughed, his brows filled with unbridled happiness.

He was finally going to break free from the shackles Man Yi set, gaining freedom.

Little Fairy: Freedom? Freedom is impossible, you’ve just exited the wolf’s den only to enter the tiger’s lair.

Man Yue: Became withdrawn.
