Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1497: Chapter 1497: Death List (10)

Outside the corridor, deathly silence prevailed.

Jih Youtang was not there.

Fatty and The Bald were cautiously peeking around, and after ensuring nothing was amiss, quickly caught up with Chuzheng.

The two completely forgot who it was that said they would protect Chuzheng earlier.

Chuzheng headed toward the next classroom.

The desks and chairs in this classroom were all overturned, as if a fight had occurred.

Chuzheng also found dark brown bloodstains on the wall.

Some were sprayed, others smeared with fingers.

The rooms in this corridor all belonged to the first-year students.

Chuzheng didn’t find any useful clues and prepared to continue heading downstairs.

As she just reached the doorway, The Bald suddenly signaled her to stop.

”There’s a sound.”

There were footsteps coming from the direction of the stairs.

The sound didn’t quite resemble that of normal footsteps.

Zombies!

All three simultaneously thought of these words.

And judging from the sound, they were coming toward them.

”Little sister, you’re not the Grim Reaper, are you?” Fatty belatedly asked.

”No.”

Fatty was unsure whether to believe it or not, as he took out a weapon from his backpack and handed it to The Bald.

The Bald said to Chuzheng, ”You stand behind us for now.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

Having weathered twelve rounds of games, these two seemed a bit silly but were not truly dumb.

They stood by the door, listening to the sounds outside.

The more they listened, the more wrong it felt.

”This doesn’t sound right...” Fatty muttered, ”Isn’t it too many?”

The Bald swallowed hard.

How many zombies were needed to create such a racket?

Just thinking about it sent shivers down The Bald’s spine.

”Let’s hope they don’t find us,” Fatty said.

Bam—

The door shook from the impact.

”Damn!”

The Bald cursed under his breath.

The zombies were slamming against the door with ’bang bang’ sounds accompanied by blood-curdling growls.

”Should we fight?”

”Fight my ass, there are so many, it’s suicide!” The Bald cursed as he shoved tables over to block the door.

This classroom door seemed sturdy enough and showed no signs of giving way for the moment.

”Check if there’s another way out.”

The windows were tightly boarded up from the inside and couldn’t be pried open.

Besides the front and back doors, there were no other exits.

”If I had known, I would’ve just bought a grenade!”

Chuzheng listened in horror.

Can this sort of thing be exchanged?

How outrageous!

While the other two were attempting other solutions, Chuzheng grabbed a chair and swung it at the window.

The Bald saw it but thought Chuzheng was wasting effort.

He had checked earlier; the wood planks sealing the window were quite thick.

Whoosh—

The boards and the glass outside shattered together.

Chuzheng struck a few more times, easily clearing out a space to escape through.

The Bald and Fatty were dumbfounded.

I... what!!

Chuzheng stood by the window, able to see the people below clearly.

Jih Youtang was sitting on the flowerbed below, looking up at them.

Seeing Chuzheng peer her head out, he immediately waved his hand.

”Little sister, here’s a little welcome gift~”

”...”

Just you wait!

Chuzheng jumped straight out the window.

Jih Youtang was clearly stunned and immediately stood up, sprinting in one direction.

Chuzheng chased after him, but Jih Youtang was nowhere to be seen. Maybe he had a Prop Card.

The Bald and Fatty also jumped out from the window.

Just as they rushed out, two people simultaneously ran out from the main entrance of the teaching building.

”Run!!”

”Darn it!”

Two people were being chased by zombies behind them.

Sprinting at full speed.

These zombies were different from the others.

They were incredibly fast.

They would definitely have a place on the athletics field.

And from observation, they weren’t afraid of sunlight.

Chuzheng wasn’t planning to run, but Fatty and The Bald rushed at her, dragging her along as they ran forward.

-

Chuzheng was forced to flee into the school cafeteria.

The main door was blocked with combined effort, and after the zombies tried for a while, they possibly thought their teeth couldn’t bite through the metal doors and finally left in frustration.

Once all the zombies were gone, they all collapsed to the floor.

Across from them were a man and a woman.

The man looked like a professional elite; the woman seemed like a student.

”Are you newcomers?” The Bald asked them.

”I’m... in my third round,” the guy replied, ”She’s in her second round.”

”He-Hello.” The girl was pale with fear, her voice trembling.

Encountering such a brutal scenario right after coming in.

Not being paralyzed with fear and still able to run was already quite good.

”What cards did you draw?”

Although they knew players who drew the Grim Reaper wouldn’t admit it, asking might reveal something off in their responses.

The guy was pretty straightforward, ”Regular player.”

The girl seemed still shaken, weakly agreeing, ”Me too.”

The group got to know each other a bit.

The elite man was named He Mingxu, and the woman was Ren Qiao.

Chuzheng sat on a table in the cafeteria, not interested in chatting with them.

”Who is she...”

”She...” Fatty faltered.

What was her name again?

Seemed like they forgot to ask.

”Chuzheng.”

When Fatty approached, Chuzheng gave her name.

Because Chuzheng seemed unapproachable, no one disturbed her.

They finally decided to work together for the time being.

He Mingxu and Ren Qiao both chose to seek clues to get the key for clearing the level, instead of eliminating players to advance.

The key to clear the level wasn’t necessarily in the same place.

But the crucial clues in the beginning were the same.

Finding the key’s hiding place would be easier after uncovering the critical clues.

Searching together was safer and faster.

During their rest, Chuzheng wandered around the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was divided into three levels.

The first and second floors appeared to be for students.

The third floor was for staff.

But it was all empty inside, with no useful clues.

Chuzheng did find a watermelon knife-like object in the kitchen.

She casually carried it out.

Planning to use it on that jerk Jih Youtang.

”W-What are you doing!?”

He Mingxu’s face turned pale with fear.

”Nothing.” Just carrying a knife, why be scared?

”...”

Your posture just now looked like you were going to chop someone.

Once confirmed that Chuzheng wouldn’t do anything, He Mingxu sat back down.

”By the way, there was another player in that building earlier,” He Mingxu said, ”He’s the one who attracted the zombies.”

Fatty was surprised, ”Grim Reaper Player? What does he look like?”

Chuzheng coolly replied, ”Jih Youtang.” She twirled the knife, the glint of the blade cold and menacing.

”Damn!” The Bald and Fatty cursed in unison.

Ren Qiao and He Mingxu were bewildered.

Who was Jih Youtang?

Was he famous?

After Chuzheng found a weapon in the kitchen, He Mingxu and Ren Qiao also went in to find suitable weapons of their own.

It’s better to have something for self-defense.

”What should we do next?” Ren Qiao, feeling much better, cautiously asked while holding the weapon she’d found.

”There was something about Class 2 Grade 3 written on the blackboard earlier, let’s start by looking for Class 2 Grade 3,” He Mingxu hesitated as he spoke, ”Class 2 Grade 3... I think I’ve seen it, in another building, it’s a bit far from here.”
