Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1183: Chapter 1183: Dark Descent (Part 3)

Chuzheng covered her face.

The boss’s dignity is completely gone.

”Xiao Chu, am I driving too fast? Is the wind hitting your eyes?”

Chuzheng immediately put down her hand, putting on a serious and aloof face: ”No.”

Although Chuzheng said no, Jiang Rushuang still slowed down.

The little electric scooter is indeed a good thing; when the streets are blocked by cars, you can still use the sidewalks.

As long as it’s not a hundred-meter hurdle zombie athlete, the scooter definitely runs faster than zombies.

However, later on, as zombies got faster, this thing became useless.

Of course, it’s mostly useless early on too—no electricity.

Any shop related to food on the street had already been ransacked, with hardly any scraps left.

The first few days were the easiest to find supplies, the later it got, the harder they were to find.

”Xiao Chu, do you think... our family members are still alive?” Jiang Rushuang wasn’t a local; she could get through on the phone in the early days of the apocalypse, but she couldn’t reach her family no matter what.

”I don’t know.” Chuzheng paused: ”Prepare for the worst.”

What worse can there be...

Her heart ached, and her eyes reddened.

She’s separated from her parents by half the country; under these circumstances, she couldn’t go back even if she wanted to.

Jiang Rushuang took a deep breath.

Too many people have died these days; Jiang Rushuang could only pray that her parents were alive and had moved to a safe place with others.

”Xiao Chu, your family lives here in the city, should we go find your uncle and aunt?” Jiang Rushuang asked Chuzheng again.

The original host’s parents... died when the apocalypse hit.

The original host once went back to find them, and her parents were still there—in zombie form.

Chuzheng said indifferently: ”No.”

”Why not? Maybe uncle and aunt are still alive.” Jiang Rushuang said: ”We should go and check.”

Jiang Rushuang used ’we’ very smoothly.

Chuzheng didn’t want to argue with her about this issue.

If she told her they were already dead, Jiang Rushuang would probably ask her how she knew.

Then it would be endless.

So Chuzheng remained silent.

Jiang Rushuang asked a few more times, but got no response, so she stopped asking.

-

”There’s a mall up ahead.” Jiang Rushuang saw the sign and turned to tell Chuzheng.

”Stop in front.”

Jiang Rushuang obediently stopped the scooter outside the mall.

Chuzheng got off and first observed her surroundings.

There were no signs of human activity around, nor any signs of zombie activity.

This mall seemed to have been newly developed, located in a remote area, and its doors, tightly shut, hadn’t yet been destroyed.

Chuzheng walked toward the mall’s entrance, while Jiang Rushuang glanced around and then at the figure walking ahead.

The girl’s back was straight, composed and calm, as if she wasn’t walking through the apocalypse...

Seeing that back, Jiang Rushuang also felt calm inside.

She jogged over, looked into the mall, then at the door: ”Xiao Chu, how do we get in? It’s locked...”

Smash—

The glass beside them was rudely shattered by Chuzheng, who had already climbed inside.

Jiang Rushuang swallowed her next word and clumsily climbed in.

The zombie outbreak occurred at night, and the mall had already closed for the day, so there were no mutated zombies inside.

The mall was relatively large, with several floors.

Chuzheng first went to the food section to fill her stomach.

Jiang Rushuang was also hungry; she started eating on her own without needing Chuzheng to say anything.

She ate while also packing.

”Xiao Chu, we can’t carry much supplies.” Her bag could only hold so much; Jiang Rushuang was quite smart and didn’t take any large packaged items, just things like biscuits that were easy to fill the stomach.

Jiang Rushuang looked up at Chuzheng, and the next second, her face was full of shock.

The girl’s fingertips skimmed over the shelf’s food, and the food disappeared into thin air.

”X-Xiao Chu, is this a special ability too?” Could this be the legendary Space? The one that can hold lots and lots of stuff??

”Mm.” Chuzheng, not bothering to explain, agreed along with Jiang Rushuang.

”Amazing.” Jiang Rushuang’s eyes sparkled, and the chubby cheeks only showed happiness, then she nervously added: ”Xiao Chu, you mustn’t tell anyone about this.”

Chuzheng glanced at her but said nothing, quickly storing away items that were easy to preserve and filling.

She didn’t actually need to gather these supplies; after all, the Bastard would definitely want her to squander them in the future.

But...

With nothing from the Bastard, she couldn’t just starve.

Chuzheng didn’t take everything, leaving quite a bit behind.

Jiang Rushuang didn’t ask why, just followed closely behind Chuzheng, eyes full of admiration.

Chuzheng moved to the candy section, stood for a while, and collected quite a bit.

The Good Person Card... seemed to like sweet things.

After collecting supplies, Chuzheng went upstairs.

She chose a set of casual clothes that were easy to move in and changed out of what she was wearing.

Chuzheng tossed a set over to Jiang Rushuang: ”Change.”

”Oh.”

Jiang Rushuang obediently changed her clothes.

The color wasn’t bright, but the style was quite nice.

Chuzheng walked through each floor and specifically went to the men’s section.

”Xiao Chu, there’s a sound downstairs.”

Jiang Rushuang nervously ran over.

Chuzheng already heard it.

”Could it be survivors?” Jiang Rushuang felt some delight and anticipation: ”I heard the sound of a car.” If they met survivors, they wouldn’t have to be alone.

”Not all survivors are good.” Chuzheng expressionlessly said: ”It’s best not to trust anyone, including me.”

Jiang Rushuang was taken aback: ”Xiao Chu...”

Chuzheng calmly said: ”Don’t place your hopes on anyone. I can save you once, twice, but I can’t guarantee to save you every time.”

Considering how Jiang Rushuang protected her, she could lend a hand.

She could even let her follow along.

But in the future, she had to protect the Good Person Card, prioritize the people she cared for; what if she didn’t save her in time?

In the apocalypse, only by becoming strong can you live better.

Jiang Rushuang wanted to say something, but facing Chuzheng’s cold gaze, she didn’t know what to say, only silently remembering Chuzheng’s words: to become strong...

The conversation between Chuzheng and Jiang Rushuang lasted no more than a minute, and the people below seemed to be coming up.

Chuzheng stood on the floor, looking downwards.

It appeared to be a group of survivors; there were people in official uniforms at the bottom, but not many, less than ten.

They were either on a mission or had gotten separated from the main group.

The rest were ordinary people, including the elderly, women, and children.

Most of the survivors moved toward the food section, and Chuzheng quickly lost sight of them.

”Who’s there!”

Someone holding a weapon came up, cautious not to shoot first, shouting once.

Zombies don’t speak, but humans do; this avoids accidental injury.

The people below also looked up, each raising their weapons in alert.

”Humans.” Chuzheng spoke.

The man on the other side relaxed, saying into a walkie-talkie: ”Survivors.”

The man quickly came over: ”You haven’t been bitten, have you?”
