Kill The Old Ones!

--

The Crimson Cataclysm Tyrant is an arrogant man, and he wears that like a badge of honor.

He disdains tricks, indirect means, and roundabout people. He prefers everything direct, straight to the point, no-nonsense, simple, and efficient. He dislikes things that are trying to appear more mysterious than they should be.

As a Martial God, he became famous with his volatile temper and overwhelming strength. To him, if one smack of his club doesn’t do the trick, then he’d use two.

He carved his way through the depths of the enemy line with this technique. He rarely retreats from a battle; each time he fights, he takes it like it’s his last one.

Because of his reckless fighting style, he had suffered immensely during his youth. The number of times strangers had to drag his unconscious body back to the camp just so that he could receive treatment was frankly too frequent.

But as reckless as his fighting style was, some people wouldn’t deny that it has a charm to it. ”Violent aesthetics” is what they call it. The Crimson Cataclysm Tyrant calls it his ’fighting style’—which basically boils down to beating the living crap out of all his enemies until they’re dead and cannot be revived. Retreat is not an option; you fight like your life is on the line.

The crazy thing is that this worked for him. His direct, reckless, and frankly, suicidal fighting style allowed him to advance at a constant pace, never falling behind to his peers.

His silhouette leaves his enemies shaking in their boots in terror because they know that if they meet him on the battlefield, it’s either he dies or they do. There’s no in between.

The Crimson Cataclysm Tyrant doesn’t show mercy to his enemies. He never did and never will.

Eventually, this reckless fighting style of his propelled him to the martial god position, and only during this time did he start calming down.

But even then, the legacy of his madness and fearless advance was one of the craziest stories circulating around the martial world. And even though he doesn’t go walking around in public anymore, it doesn’t mean that he has changed. He just relaxes a bit more nowadays.

The fangs of the Crimson Cataclysm Tyrant hadn’t dulled. It’s just hidden.

”HAH—this thing looks like a morning stretch routine!”

This is what he said about the Green Lotus Core Technique the moment he received a copy of it.

There’s a trace of contempt on his face, also a sense of dissatisfaction since the world system disturbed his sleep for something this useless.

He laughed as he did it. Badly. Lazily. Honestly, he truly couldn’t be bothered. Alas, it came from the world system, so at the very least, he should try it out.

He did half-seriously, like a child being forced to do chores or homework.

”This is what shook the system? ” he muttered softly with an audible click of his tongue.

He finished the cycle. He waited and was then disappointed.

Sure, he did feel it. The warm, gentle, and soothing chakra draped all over his body like a warm blanket. Honestly, it’s nice, but all it did was to make him sleepier.

He wasn’t impressed; he wants something more explosive.

But all he got was this. No surge. No destructive output. Just a warm embrace after wasting 15 minutes of his time.

”...That’s it? ”

Then—

He froze.

”Uh. Okay? ”

His grin faded.

A burn scar—deep, grotesque, etched into his shoulder—shifted.

He grabbed it.

”No fucking way.” His eyes constricted in disbelief. All signs of drowsiness were now gone from him.

This scar was an iconic one. It’s given to him by the same monster that left the Heaven-Severing War Sovereign traumatized.

The pain wasn’t gone, and it left an ugly and visible scar. It also caused irreversible damage to the part of his arm where the scar was.

Most of the healers they met said it’s impossible to do anything about it, and he mostly already accepted that outcome. But now...?

It moved.

It healed. Slowly, yes. But it definitely did something.

”Whoowie! ” He whistled.

His voice dropped, and his expression turned really serious.

”Whoever you are...thank you.”

For once, the loudest of them fell silent.

Then—

He laughed again.

But this time, it broke halfway.

”Damn it! ”

He wiped his face roughly. Then, he got a system message again. This time, it didn’t come from the World System. It came from the GMU channel, coming straight from his fellow martial gods.

”Here we go.”

The Azure Radiance Saint is a creature of habit.

From a very young age, she had gotten used to her life being organized. Plans were already made for her before she could even speak her first words. Her entire future was already laid before her; all she needed to do was to walk on it, and her success was practically guaranteed.

For the most part, she had no complaints about it.

In fact, she liked the fact that she could use her time planning other smaller things in her life, which makes her feel more involved and in control.

However, when she awakened a Mythic Grade Martial Physique—the Mystic Azure Dragon Martial Physique—she immediately realized that the earlier plans of her parents were a little too ’humble’ for her talent.

That’s when she took complete control over her life. She aimed for something higher, starting to pursue something grander and larger than herself.

And you know what? She succeeded!

She eventually became one of the five Martial Gods of the GMU and never looked back.

All of this was because she stayed true to who she was and planned out her entire life according to how she saw fit. She also worked hard and didn’t betray the expectations others had for her and the ones she had for herself.

And just like the many aspects of her entire life, when she received the copy of the Green Lotus Core Technique, she approached it analytically.

Precise.

Measured.

She followed every instruction to perfection. She didn’t do anything extra. She didn’t look down on it. In fact, she’s very interested. Obviously, feeling a bit skeptical was normal. But that’s the point behind trying it out, right?

After going through the motions once, she stopped, sat down, observed, catalogued, and waited patiently.

Not too long after that, she felt it.

The warm, gentle, and soothing chakra that had a slow but very persistent healing effect.

She felt it warming up her entire body, and when the green lotus chakra made contact with the deep and hidden injuries that had accumulated on her body, they began working diligently, scrubbing them away.

It’s slow. Very slow. It’d probably take a whole year of constant practice for Green Lotus Chakra to completely get rid of her burdens.

But was one year even a long time for a being such as her? No. No, it’s not. At most, to her, that’s just a short nap. She could literally hyperfixate on something for a bit, and before she knew it, it’d already be the same day next year.

Time barely means anything to people like her at their current state.

But that’s not the important thing. What matters is what she thought about the technique that the world system sent to her and the others, obviously.

”...Remarkable.”

Her voice was calm but softer than usual.

Her body had always been pristine.

Untouched.

Perfect.

But perfection, she realized, had a flaw.

And that is that it looked so bright and so shiny that it hid the real imperfections very well. Even she barely discovered the existence of deadly and glaring flaws on her body.

She was so blinded by the lights and bedazzled by her Mythic Grade Martial Physique that it made her pay less attention to her body.

But by the time she noticed then, it was already too late.

”It fills the gaps we didn’t know existed.”

This is what she wrote as a review for the technique, because of course, she’s already thinking about endorsing it. She wasn’t blind to the immense potential and change this would bring to the human race!

She placed a hand over her heart.

”This isn’t simply healing.”

A small smile appeared on her face.

”...This is restoration.”

[Beep!]

Just now, she received the same video call invitation that her fellow Martial Gods received.

Of course this would happen. She already knew that her friends already received their copies. And if their brains haven’t deteriorated yet, they would have already felt the effects of this technique and the immense potential it could bring.

The World System did a fantastic job sending this to them, because truly, this is simply something that none of them could miss. And as the martial gods serving as the pillar of the human race, of course they have to be involved.

’The persistent healing effect could affect me, too. Which means that it affects them too.’

Heaven-Severing and Crimson Tyrant should’ve felt it better. This should also have some affinity with Verdant Immortal’s martial art. As for Voidstep...well, he’s a man of few words, but he should be impressed too.’

’This is a good sign.’

’God bless the Human Race.’
