Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2421: Chapter 1098: Take Care_3

Lord Yellow Mountain’s ruined temple has become even more dilapidated.

Three of the four walls have collapsed.

Half of the roof has caved in, letting in wind and rain.

The clay statue inside has broken in half, the offering table is gone, and there are no offerings at all, not even any stale mantou to eat.

There are even quite a few bloodstains on the ground.

Mo Hua felt a chill in his heart.

”Lord Yellow Mountain... could he be gone?”

Mo Hua entered the Divine Temple, released his Divine Sense, and before he could look carefully, he saw Lord Yellow Mountain slowly rise from half of the clay statue and bow to Mo Hua:

”Little friend, long time no see.”

Mo Hua breathed a sigh of relief and asked, ”Mountain Lord, are you alright?”

Lord Yellow Mountain’s face looked pale, ”I’m alright.”

Mo Hua felt a bit heartbroken, pointed with his finger, used the Clear Wind Skill to sweep away the dust, clearing a clean spot, which he then used as a sacrificial table. He placed an incense burner, some chicken, duck, fish, and meat, fresh fruit buns as offerings, and even poured a cup of wine.

Lord Yellow Mountain only felt a warm current in his heart.

Then Mo Hua and Lord Yellow Mountain sat on the ground, one man and one deity, eating the offerings while chatting.

”How did your ruined temple end up like this?”

”It’s a long story...” Lord Yellow Mountain sighed, ”Months ago, the Blood Sacrifice Formation opened wide, the Demon Path was rampant, and this desolate mountain wilderness became extremely chaotic and frenzied.”

”Every now and then, homeless cultivators would come to this temple for respite.”

”And then, within two days, they’d be intercepted and killed by demon cultivators. Skinned, tendons extracted, leaving no trace of their corpses.”

”I could only give them tips in dreams at night, but as a downcast Mountain God, my strength is minimal, and I couldn’t change their fate. Not only that, but my ruined temple couldn’t withstand the calamity of life and death between the righteous and the demonic.”

”Fortunately, this wave of disaster didn’t last long and mysteriously dissipated, but...”

Lord Yellow Mountain frowned, looking grave, ”Before, I could clearly sense a terrifying and evil deity’s aura.”

”The Great Wilderness Evil God must have descended. But why did all the disasters calm down afterward? Why did the True Fetus’s aura also dissipate?”

”Where exactly did the Great Wilderness Evil God go?”

Mo Hua gnawed on a chicken leg, glanced at Lord Yellow Mountain, and softly asked, ”Do you want to know?”

Lord Yellow Mountain was stunned, ”What?”

Mo Hua said, ”Where the Great Wilderness Evil God went.”

Lord Yellow Mountain dumbly nodded.

Mo Hua then pulled out an ancient fang talisman from his neck and said to Lord Yellow Mountain, ”Here.”

Lord Yellow Mountain froze like a stone statue.

At first, he thought Mo Hua was joking with him.

The Evil God is hanging around your neck?

But when he focused his gaze on the fang talisman on Mo Hua’s neck and carefully sensed it, he felt a majestic and powerful Divine Beast aura and, suppressed by this aura, that trace of ancient, extremely ferocious evil thoughts.

Lord Yellow Mountain almost tore apart his Primordial Spirit in fright.

A hidden Evil God for nearly a thousand years is now beside me?!

Lord Yellow Mountain stumbled, fell to the ground, and struggled to retreat to a corner, pointing at the fang talisman, trembling, ”This... you... this...”

Mo Hua comforted, ”It’s okay, I chopped it in half, one half I can’t tell you, the other half I just kept.”

”Kept... kept?”

”Mm,” Mo Hua nodded, ”If I can’t kill it, I’ll just keep it, occasionally take a bite, and use it as ’nourishment’...”

Lord Yellow Mountain’s pupils trembled.

That’s an Evil God! An Evil God!

Do you think it’s a pig you’re raising?!

He then looked at Mo Hua and found that Mo Hua’s aura was profound and unfathomable, intertwined with countless causes and qi dynamics, though seemingly a thin flesh-and-blood body, it was as unfathomable as chaos.

And faintly exuding a presence that instilled fear even in him, a deity.

This presence wasn’t newly acquired.

Lord Yellow Mountain had already noticed it before.

But as Mo Hua ’devoured’ more of a certain existence, this presence grew stronger, making him increasingly apprehensive.

Lord Yellow Mountain couldn’t help but feel like he, this ’Haozi’, was dining with a ’cat’.

With mixed feelings, Lord Yellow Mountain sighed:

”This matter mustn’t be spoken of.”

Mo Hua nodded, put away the fang pendant, and said to Lord Yellow Mountain, ”I only told you about this because you are the Mountain God. If I told others, they wouldn’t understand.”

Lord Yellow Mountain gave a bitter smile.

He really didn’t want to understand either.

Mo Hua then said, ”Since the Evil God can’t be killed, I will take part of its power... and leave Qianxue state boundary. In the future, if there’s a chance, I’ll completely annihilate it. If not, I’ll just... use it as a snack...”

A snack...

Lord Yellow Mountain’s brain momentarily froze.

He felt that what Mo Hua said couldn’t be human words.

But it probably wasn’t ’divine’ words either.

Because even deities couldn’t utter such insane words.

”Never mind...”

Lord Yellow Mountain sighed.

Gradually, he accepted the incredible truth in his heart.

When the heavens and earth are formed, and all things are created, occasionally, it indeed nurtures some heaven-defying existences that defy categorization.

”Little friend, you... be extra careful, the Evil God is not easy to deal with,” Lord Yellow Mountain sincerely advised.

Mo Hua nodded, ”I know.”

He had quite a bit of understanding of the Evil God and gave it enough respect, not daring to act rashly, lest the Evil God find an opportunity.

Then the atmosphere fell silent for a bit.

Lord Yellow Mountain let out a sigh of relief.

Mo Hua looked at Lord Yellow Mountain again, feeling a bit melancholy:

”I won’t be able to visit you again, once I go down the mountain, I’ll use some Spirit Stone to hire someone to rebuild a temple for you. Also, have someone burn incense and offer fruits during the festivals.”

Lord Yellow Mountain paused, feeling a bit bittersweet, unsure if Mo Hua was a terrifying ’Evil Monster’ or a sincere and kind young man.

He heaved a long sigh and sincerely said, ”Thank you, little friend.”

The reunion was short. After finishing their conversation and the offerings, Mo Hua stood up to bid farewell, ”Mountain Lord, until we meet again.”

Lord Yellow Mountain watched Mo Hua, thinking about this ’Little Ancestor’, who will no longer visit him, and the Evil God will leave Qianxue state boundary with him. His first reaction was relief.

But then, realizing Mo Hua truly wouldn’t visit anymore.

Wouldn’t chat with him anymore, wouldn’t bring offerings, wouldn’t ask him this and that.

In this desolate mountain wilderness, there wouldn’t be a friend to chat with, no adorable youth caring for him.

Lord Yellow Mountain’s heart suddenly felt empty.

He could only watch Mo Hua leave, watching Mo Hua’s figure gradually recede amongst the mountain forests, mumbling to himself:

”Take care...”
