Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2420: Chapter 1098: Farewell (Part 2)

...

After leaving Solitary Mountain City, Mo Hua went to a small fishing village by Mistwater River.

Old Yu was thrilled to see Mo Hua and busily prepared a small fish soup for Mo Hua using his treasured fish fry.

He actually wasn’t aware of Mo Hua’s true identity.

He didn’t know that Mo Hua was the Junior Brother of Taixu Gate, the ”Crown Prince” of Taixu Gate, the prodigy of Qianxue Debate and Qianxue Formation Path’s Double Champion.

He only knew that Mo Hua was his ”little benefactor.”

Mo Hua drank the delicious fish soup while casually asking about the recent happenings in the small fishing village.

Old Yu looked fearful and said that there have been too many strange events recently.

”First, there was an anomaly in the sky; five golden figures appeared in mid-air with a terrifying presence, and then there was a celestial river descending, a Large Formation shocked the world...”

”And then Xuantian Peak collapsed. Not long after, the sky turned blood-red, probably a shocking Big Demon had emerged.”

”The blood red covered the sky for several months. Mistwater River almost turned into blood.”

”Everyone thought it was the end, but then somehow, everything went black again; there was no sound, entire mountain tops turned into black powder, and those countless demon monsters were burned into black ash as if made of paper. It was truly frightening...”

Old Yu was animated, speaking with vivid details.

The cultivators at the lower level, with limited cultivation and understanding, only saw the surface of the events, and were almost oblivious to the inner secrets.

But this didn’t hinder him from enthusiastically discussing it; evidently, these events had been his frequent tea-time and meal-time topics.

But Old Yu was also curious, ”Benefactor, who do you think was responsible for these extraordinary phenomena with the golden figures in the sky, the celestial river inversion, the blood-red sky, and the world’s silence?”

Mo Hua was drinking fish soup, and couldn’t help but choke and cough twice:

”I... don’t know either...”

Old Yu glanced at Mo Hua, nodding, ”That makes sense.”

The benefactor was only at Foundation Establishment, indeed not likely to know these secrets.

They then talked about some everyday matters.

Mo Hua suddenly asked, ”Where are Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi? Why haven’t I seen them?”

Upon mentioning this, Old Yu expressed his deep gratitude towards Mo Hua, saying:

”Thanks to the benefactor’s blessing, those two kids really had a stroke of good luck. Since they had some talent, they learned Cultivation Techniques and have now joined a Great Sect for cultivation.”

”A Great Sect?” Mo Hua was a bit surprised, ”Which Great Sect?”

”It seems to be called... Gui Water Sect,” Old Yu replied.

”Gui Water Sect?” Mo Hua was stunned. He didn’t expect that the two kids, Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi, would, by chance, end up joining Gui Water Sect.

”Were they accepted through application or taken in by someone?” Mo Hua asked.

Old Yu replied, ”An Elder who passed by, with the surname Yu, said that those two children had good talent, and since they also had the surname Yu, there was a connection, so he took Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi.”

”Was it really a Gui Water Sect Elder?” Mo Hua frowned.

Old Yu pondered, ”Yes, Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi were indeed sent into Gui Water Sect by me. Both kids also highly respect that Elder Yu.”

”Elder Yu...”

Mo Hua thought for a moment and nodded, ”I see...”

After finishing the fish soup, Mo Hua also paid a visit to the back mountain to see the little silver fish.

Due to guarding the Dragon Bone statue and receiving incense offerings from the villagers, the little silver fish had clearly grown larger, and its scales faintly resembled ”dragon scales.”

The little silver fish was thrilled upon seeing Mo Hua, wagging its little tail, circling around Mo Hua continuously, showing an affectionate attitude.

Mo Hua tapped its forehead with his finger and smiled: ”I’m about to leave, and for a long time, I might not be able to come to see you.”

The little silver fish’s usually lively tail suddenly stopped wagging.

It drooped its head, looking very forlorn.

Mo Hua sighed softly and said:

”Deities have long lifespans, just focus on cultivation, receiving incense, and protecting the believers, one day we will meet again.”

”Also, that... statue, think of it as a gift from me, make sure to guard it well.”

The little silver fish nodded repeatedly, its spirits lifted a bit.

Mo Hua spent a little more time with it, and then left.

Old Yu sent Mo Hua to the village entrance, raised his hands in sincere gratitude, and said:

”This old man isn’t good with words, just wishes that the benefactor will have smooth sailing ahead and that all your wishes come true.”

Mo Hua smiled and wished Old Yu ”favorable weather and prosperity every year.”

After that, Mo Hua left the small fishing village in a carriage, traveling south along the riverside.

After a while, Mo Hua’s expression changed slightly, he lifted the curtain of the carriage to see a silver fish trailing him, shimmering on the Mistwater River.

Until the carriage drove far away, leaving the Smoke Water River area, the little silver fish could no longer keep up, wandering confusedly in place for a long time before reluctantly heading back home alone.

...

Leaving Mistwater River, Mo Hua traveled along the mountain path to Kushan Mountain for a visit to Lord Yellow Mountain.

Lord Yellow Mountain was an ”old friend” he had met before entering Qian Learning State Boundary.

In the catastrophe of the Blood Sacrifice, Mo Hua was not sure how Lord Yellow Mountain fared.

Whether he was affected, polluted, or fell again...

Mo Hua was somewhat worried and concerned.

But previously, struck by fateful evilness, he was confined by Elder Master Xun in the back mountain, then became busy with graduation and numerous other matters.

Now with some free time, Mo Hua made a special trip to Kushan Mountain to see his old friend.

Entering Kushan Mountain, stepping onto the mountain steps, the rocky mountain path was littered with dry leaves, all the way to the peak of the deep mountain, where lifting his gaze slightly, he saw the ruined temple of Lord Yellow Mountain.
