Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 314: Chapter 310: The 6 Top Grade Sects, the Powerful Figure Behind Them?

A tremendous sound, like rolling thunder, exploded in the sky, surging forward with earth-shattering power.

All eyes turned toward the sky.

Several figures appeared high above. They wore azure clothes, and their sweeping gazes were as sharp as thunderbolts, putting pressure on anyone who met their eyes.

The Wind Thunder Sect!

A Top Grade Sect from Yun Province, also renowned throughout the Six Eastern Provinces.

”A Top Grade Sect really did show up.”

”I wonder if any other sects came besides the Wind Thunder Sect.”

The crowd buzzed with discussion.

At this moment, Yue Wenfu and the others went out to greet them, their expressions grave.

”The Wind Thunder Sect has come from afar. We apologize for our inadequate reception and hope you won’t take offense.”

But the members of the Wind Thunder Sect didn’t even spare them a glance. A cold voice came from the mouth of the leading elder, ”Hmph. Is this the Myriad Swords Sect’s way of treating guests?”

”What might you mean by that, sir?” Yue Wenfu frowned.

The other Martial Artists were all secretly alarmed. ’From the looks of it, the Wind Thunder Sect didn’t come with good intentions!’

The leading elder’s gaze was indifferent as he said arrogantly, ”My Wind Thunder Sect, a Top Grade Sect, has traveled thousands of miles to pay a visit to the Myriad Swords Sect, yet your Sect Leader doesn’t even come out to greet us? You only sent a few of you. Are you looking down on us?”

”This...”

Although Yue Wenfu and the others were furious, they knew the other party was speaking the truth. Their cultivation was only at the Primordial Spirit Fourth Tribulation Realm.

The ones who had come from the Wind Thunder Sect were several Earth Martial Realm experts, their strength far surpassing theirs.

In this world, strength was always the most important thing!

As their conversation unfolded, the faces of the many Martial Artists filled with shock.

The Wind Thunder Sect had come in and condescendingly criticized the Myriad Swords Sect’s hospitality. By now, who couldn’t see that the Wind Thunder Sect’s visit was not so simple!

Faced with the aggressive Wind Thunder Sect, how would the Myriad Swords Sect respond?

”Hospitality is for true guests. Your Wind Thunder Sect came uninvited. You are unwelcome guests.”

Just then, a cool, indifferent voice rang out. It was Ning Jiang.

”Oh? Is the one speaking Sect Leader Ning? I hear you’re quite young, not even twenty. To become the leader of a sect at such an age, you must have good luck.” one of them said coldly.

”Watch your words.”

Fury flashed across the faces of Yue Wenfu and the others. Saying Ning Jiang became the Master of Myriad Swords Sect due to good luck was a form of contempt and insult.

”You’re the ones who should watch your words. Mere God-Seizing Realm cultivators, what right do you have to speak with us?”

A hot-tempered Earth Martial Realm expert’s face darkened, and he blasted out a wave of pressure.

The three’s faces instantly paled, and they stumbled back a few steps.

”The Wind Thunder Sect is so overbearing!”

The crowd’s expressions changed drastically. Today was the important day of the Myriad Swords Sect’s founding, yet the Wind Thunder Sect was acting this way. Such behavior could already be considered a provocation.

”Why is the Wind Thunder Sect doing this? The Myriad Swords Sect has a Heaven-Reaching Realm expert backing them. Aren’t they afraid of angering that mysterious expert?”

”I find it strange, too. The Wind Thunder Sect’s strength is about on par with the Evil Spirit Sect’s. Since the Myriad Swords Sect could destroy the Evil Spirit Sect, the Wind Thunder Sect should be no match for them either. Yet they choose to provoke the Myriad Swords Sect. No matter how you look at it, this whole affair is bizarre.”

Some of the shrewder Martial Artists present couldn’t understand why the Wind Thunder Sect was acting this way.

Only a fool would offend the Myriad Swords Sect for no reason.

The Wind Thunder Sect has stood in Yun Province for a thousand years. How could such a long-established, cunning sect do something that offers no benefit?

”Maybe there’s some big shot behind the Wind Thunder Sect?”

Someone offered a guess.

”Are you kidding? The Wind Thunder Sect is a Top Grade Sect. To command them, would it have to be one of the Seven Great Super Sects?”

”Let’s just watch. I think whether or not someone is backing the Wind Thunder Sect will be revealed soon enough!”

The crowd watched with craned necks, their eyes filled with anticipation.

For the Myriad Swords Sect, today’s events were also a major crisis. Faced with the Wind Thunder Sect’s aggression, how would the Myriad Swords Sect handle it?

If the Myriad Swords Sect showed any weakness, the prestige they had built up during this time would likely be destroyed in an instant.

Many of the Martial Artists understood this.

Yue Wenfu and the others also understood completely. At this point, the three of them stopped talking and silently retreated.

In the current situation, only Ning Jiang was qualified to resolve it.

”Since you’re all here, why not show yourselves?”

Ning Jiang’s voice boomed out, echoing for a hundred li in every direction.

Everyone’s expression changed at once. ’There are others?’

”Not bad perception, to actually be able to discover us.”

”He does have some skill.”

”It seems the rumors are true. This boy is not simple.”

A series of voices rang out from various points in the void. Following that, several figures appeared, striding forward.

They stood together with the Wind Thunder Sect, looking down condescendingly at the Myriad Swords Sect below.

”HISS!”

A series of sharp intakes of breath could be heard. Looking at their distinctive clothing, the crowd recognized their identities.

”Those people carrying heavy swords are from the Top Grade Sect, the Giant Sword Sect!”

”The people next to them are from another Top Grade Sect, the Mixed Cyan Sect.”

”And the Celestial Sea Sect.”

”...”

”Six Top Grade Sects!”

The crowd counted. In total, the Myriad Swords Sect had attracted six Top Grade Sects this time.

”Of the Eight Top Grade Sects, the Evil Spirit Sect has already been destroyed. And aside from the strongest Top Grade Sect, which didn’t come, all the remaining sects are here!”

In the Six Eastern Provinces, sects were as numerous as trees in a forest; there were thousands upon thousands if one were to count them all.

But among them, only the Seventy-Two Sects were worth mentioning. And among the Seventy-Two Sects, the Eight Top Grade Sects were the strongest.

Now, six of the great Top Grade Sects were all present.

Such a lineup was enough to inspire awe and dread.

With their combined strength, they could sweep through any power in the Six Eastern Provinces.

Of course, this did not include the Seven Great Super Sects.

Compared to the Seven Great Super Sects, these Top Grade Sects were nothing. Only the one ranked first among the Eight Top Grade Sects had even a slight qualification to challenge a Super Sect.

”The people from the six Top Grade Sects... from the way they’re acting, they haven’t all joined forces, have they?”

”Interesting. Now I really get the feeling there’s some big shot behind these Top Grade Sects. Otherwise, with how fiercely they usually compete, why would they ever stand together?”

Competition between sects had always been fierce.

Although these Top Grade Sects were scattered across the Six Provinces, their genius disciples often clashed.

Sometimes, when a Secret Realm appeared, they would all compete for it. Normally, if they met, there would definitely be a sense of hostility between them.

Yet now, several major Top Grade Sects had all acted out of character, uniting as one and showing open hostility towards the Myriad Swords Sect.

What kind of major figure was manipulating all of this from behind the scenes?
