Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 313: Chapter 309: Arrival of the Top Grade Sect

The moment this question was raised, it immediately sparked a discussion all around.

”That’s right. I heard that the Wind Thunder Sect from Yun Province has already arrived in Qing Province. Someone’s already spotted them.”

”The Wind Thunder Sect... that Sect specializes in Wind and Thunder Power. Their number one genius is also a renowned monster across the Six Provinces.”

”I just don’t know what purpose these Top Grade Sects have in coming here. Do they come with good intentions? Or hostility?”

As the crowd was engrossed in discussion,

Inside the inner hall, the three Earth Martial Realm powerhouses also met with Ning Jiang.

”Sect Leader Ning, your Myriad Swords Sect has truly made a grand move this time,” the Withered Blade Sect Leader said in amazement. ”I know a thing or two about the Death Mountain Range. With my Cultivation, I wouldn’t last more than a few months amid the deathly aura outside. To think you actually had a way to solve it.”

Hearing his words, Ning Jiang gave a faint smile.

The man had credited the sect, not him personally.

This showed that in the back of his mind, he believed the one responsible for all this was the mysterious Heaven-Reaching Realm expert behind the Myriad Swords Sect, not Ning Jiang himself.

However, Ning Jiang felt no need to explain any of this.

He didn’t care what others thought.

”By the way, Sect Leader Ning, your Myriad Swords Sect has caused a huge sensation in the Six Eastern Provinces. Although you made a name for yourselves in that one battle, you’ve also drawn the attention of many powerful factions. According to the news I’ve received, I’m afraid several of the great Top Grade Sects will be making an appearance!”

the Earth Sect Leader said with a serious expression.

The words coming from his mouth were naturally more credible than the speculation outside.

”It doesn’t matter,” Ning Jiang said lightly. ”If they want to come, it’s merely to see if the Myriad Swords Sect is qualified to stand with them as equals. We’ll deal with whatever they throw at us. Let them come.”

”So Sect Leader Ning was already prepared. It seems I was worrying for nothing,” the Earth Sect Leader said with a laugh.

”Those who are coming have more or less arrived. Let’s begin.”

Ning Jiang sent a Divine Sense transmission, informing Yue Wenfu and the other two.

The three of them understood Ning Jiang’s meaning. Yue Wenfu cleared his throat and announced loudly, ”Today is the founding of the Myriad Swords Sect. It is our great fortune to have friends from all corners come to congratulate us. On behalf of our Sect Leader, I thank you all.”

”Vice Sect Leader Yue, you’re too kind.”

”We have also prepared some modest gifts. We hope the Myriad Swords Sect will not find them lacking and will accept this small token of our esteem.”

”Haha, don’t even think about getting in front of me! I’m first!”

Next was the gift-giving portion of the ceremony, with all the various sects presenting their offerings.

Everyone knew that the Myriad Swords Sect was now the number one sect in Qing Province, its hegemon. Everyone wanted to take this opportunity to get on good terms with them.

Otherwise, if they tried to present gifts at any other time, the Myriad Swords Sect might not even deign to look at them.

One by one, the major sects offered either Spirit Medicines or Spiritual Artifacts. Some of the more lavish ones even gave Spirit Veins directly.

Yue Wenfu and the other two were overjoyed to receive these Spirit Veins.

The Myriad Swords Sect had only just been established and didn’t have abundant resources. This was especially true for Spirit Veins, of which they controlled very few.

The sects and factions presented their generous gifts one after another. Among the hundred or so sects, quite a few used this as an opportunity to compete with one another.

The more valuable the gift, the more likely the Myriad Swords Sect was to remember them, making it easier to curry favor.

What made Yue Wenfu and the others not know whether to laugh or cry was that several Sect Leaders directly offered beautiful women. In terms of looks, they were indeed top-tier, ranking among the best in Qing Province.

Others might not understand Ning Jiang, assuming that being young and vigorous, he would be fond of beautiful women. But having been around him for so long, they knew all too well that in Ning Jiang’s eyes, a beauty was no different from a skeleton; he wouldn’t spare them a second glance.

Without a doubt, all the beauties who were sent over were politely refused by Yue Wenfu and the others.

After all the smaller sects had given their gifts, only the three great Upper Grade Sects remained.

”I wonder what kind of gifts these three Upper Grade Sects have prepared?”

”I heard some news. It seems all three Upper Grade Sects prepared Spirit Veins. Maybe Middle Grade Spirit Veins?”

”The Withered Blade Sect, to congratulate the Myriad Swords Sect on its founding, presents one Upper Grade Spirit Vein!”

”The Beast Taming Sect presents one Upper Grade Spirit Vein!”

”The Earth Sect presents one Upper Grade Spirit Vein!”

When the announcements from the three sects concluded, everyone around gasped in astonishment.

An Upper Grade Spirit Vein was worth more than ten times a Middle Grade Spirit Vein. Even the Star Sword Sect, in its heyday, possessed only a single Upper Grade Spirit Vein.

To give three Upper Grade Spirit Veins at once was an incredibly grand gesture.

”I’ll gladly accept the goodwill of the three of you.”

In the inner hall, Ning Jiang nodded. These three had really paid a hefty price.

But he didn’t refuse, accepting them with a clear conscience. He knew that compared to these three Upper Grade Spirit Veins, the benefits the three Upper Grade Sects had gained after the fall of the Evil Spirit Sect were far greater.

”Sect Leader Ning is too kind.”

The three of them smiled slightly, sighing in relief at the same time. Since Ning Jiang hadn’t mentioned the Evil Spirit Sect, it seemed he had no intention of interfering in Lei Province.

Otherwise, if Ning Jiang wanted to come to Lei Province and take a piece of the pie, they wouldn’t be able to refuse him. After all, the Evil Spirit Sect had fallen because of him.

”Everyone, the Myriad Swords Sect has carefully prepared a banquet. We hope you will all do us the honor of partaking.”

Afterwards, beautiful Maids brought out fine wine and delicacies one by one to serve the guests.

Ning Jiang left all of these matters to Yue Wenfu and the other two.

As the Sect Leader, he couldn’t possibly trouble himself with such trivial, peripheral matters.

The banquet soon began, and the atmosphere was joyful and harmonious.

”Oh, right. I heard there’s a type of strange insect in this Death Mountain Range called the Bloodthirsty Insect, but we didn’t seem to see any on our way in.”

”I’ve heard of them too. Aren’t the swarms supposed to be common?”

”You and your big mouth! Why’d you have to mention the Bloodthirsty Insects? Look!”

someone scolded, their gaze turning grave as they looked up.

A red cloud had appeared in the sky. The deafening, piercing sound of countless vibrating wings rolled in, blanketing everything.

This was the infamous Bloodthirsty Insect Swarm of the Death Mountain Range.

The insects in the Bloodthirsty Insect Swarm weren’t very large, only about the size of a palm. They looked like beetles, but their bodies were entirely dark red.

A single Bloodthirsty Insect wasn’t frightening, but there were too many of them—tens of thousands, densely packed and seemingly endless.

”Dammit, speak of the devil. What bad luck.”

”Get ready to fight.”

Everyone was on high alert, preparing to battle the Bloodthirsty Insect Swarm.

But Yue Wenfu announced loudly, ”Everyone, do not panic! These Bloodthirsty Insect Swarms have already been subdued by the Sect Leader. They will not attack us.”

”What? Is that true?”

”I remember many sects have tried to deal with the Bloodthirsty Insects in the past, but none of them succeeded, right?”

The people found it hard to believe.

But then, a calm voice sounded out.

”Withdraw.”

As if it were an undeniable, heavenly mandate, the massive Bloodthirsty Insect Swarm swiftly receded like a tide.

For a moment, everyone was utterly stunned!

”The Wind Thunder Sect of Yun Province has come to pay a visit to the Myriad Swords Sect.”

Suddenly, a voice like rolling thunder boomed, powerfully reverberating through the area.
