Immortal-Exterminating Divine Venerable

CREAK!

Pushing open the door to Yang Xiao’s residence.

Ye Wanyu finally let out a sigh of relief.

She unceremoniously dropped the unconscious Yang Xiao onto the floor.

Then, she plopped down onto the floor herself, heedless of her image, and gasped for air.

”This guy is the absolute worst! Just a single touch and he dares to... Hmph! I have to teach him a proper lesson!”

The distance from the banquet hall to Yang Xiao’s residence wasn’t actually that far, but for Ye Wanyu, the journey had been utterly exhausting.

She had to constantly resist the encroachment of that strange aura from Yang Xiao’s body. Every so often, she would find herself dazed and lost in a stupor.

If not for her naturally lively disposition and the stubborn obsession in her heart, she probably would have lost her composure long before getting here.

Now that she had finally arrived, the hatred and rage in Ye Wanyu’s heart reached a boiling point.

She stared at Yang Xiao.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

Without even waiting to catch her breath, she couldn’t stop herself from drawing her longsword.

She thrust it toward Yang Xiao.

But when the sword struck Yang Xiao’s body...

...all she heard was a single CLINK!

It wouldn’t go any deeper.

Ye Wanyu froze.

But a moment later, she stabbed several more times, each strike aimed at Yang Xiao’s vitals, but to no effect.

This Netherworld Sword—her Lifebound Artifact, which she had been refining since childhood and had now reached the Ultimate Spirit Weapon Level—couldn’t even seem to pierce his skin, let alone assassinate him.

Ye Wanyu’s face was a mask of disbelief.

’No wonder Brother Lu Qianfan’s vicious palm strike couldn’t kill him before. It looks like the effects of that miraculous fruit haven’t worn off yet.’

At this thought, Ye Wanyu felt a surge of indignation.

When she had come here, she never expected to be able to kill that bastard Yang Xiao anyway.

She had only wanted to pretend to be her sister, trick the antidote out of Lu Qianfan, and get a little revenge on the side.

But to her surprise, Yang Xiao was passed out drunk the moment she arrived.

This was the perfect chance to kill him.

Naturally, Ye Wanyu wasn’t going to let it slip by.

But now, even with her full-powered strike, she couldn’t even break his skin. What was she supposed to do?

’Am I supposed to just let him go like this?’

Ye Wanyu was truly unwilling to accept this.

She had taken such a huge risk. How could she let him off so easily?

’No way. I can’t kill him, and I can’t take him away, but I can’t just let him off the hook. That’s right—his Daoist Ring! I’ll take his Daoist Ring. If I can open it, I might find some poisons inside. Then I’ll feed this guy his own concoctions and see if he dies or not!’

Suddenly, Ye Wanyu’s eyes lit up.

She had an idea.

She stepped forward again, approaching Yang Xiao.

However, she had only taken a few steps...

...when, just as she was about to touch him, she subconsciously took half a step back.

’Am... Am I... afraid?’

The moment she made the move, Ye Wanyu realized what she was doing.

She took a deep breath.

She tried to psych herself up.

’What’s there to be afraid of? I was fine outside for so long just now. I’m only taking a Daoist Ring. What’s there to fear?’

With that, Ye Wanyu’s desire for revenge once again got the better of her.

Gritting her teeth, she mustered her courage and moved forward.

She saw the Daoist Ring on Yang Xiao’s hand.

But to Ye Wanyu’s exasperation, even though the guy was unconscious, one of his hands was gripping the other, perfectly covering the Daoist Ring.

As a result, if Ye Wanyu wanted to take the Daoist Ring, she would have to pry Yang Xiao’s hand open.

’My luck is the absolute worst!’

She sighed internally.

But Ye Wanyu didn’t back down.

She went straight to prying at Yang Xiao’s hand.

But this time,

it was different. With just a single touch, Ye Wanyu’s mind went completely blank.

The Nether Qi within her body went berserk.

The two of them were suddenly in immense danger.

’Hm? What’s going on? It seems someone is trying to break the seal for that little fellow?’

Just then, within the Xuanyuan Sword Wall, that wisp of Emperor Xuanyuan’s consciousness instantly sensed the change in Yang Xiao’s aura. He had placed the seal personally; any attempt to break it would naturally alert him.

This displeased Emperor Xuanyuan slightly.

But when his Divine Thought descended and he saw the actual situation...

...he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’This foolish boy... to think he’d have such a fateful encounter. Well, regardless, that little girl is a descendant of the Profound Sun Emperor. Her character isn’t bad, so she shouldn’t die like this. Fine. Since you wish to cultivate with him, then I, the Emperor, shall grant your wish.’

Emperor Xuanyuan smiled.

With a wave of his hand,

the seal on Yang Xiao’s cultivation instantly opened, just a tiny, tiny crack.

But even a crack this small...

...became Ye Wanyu’s lifeline.

All of her Netherworld Power...

...poured into it.

Yang Xiao’s and Ye Wanyu’s auras began to merge.
