Chapter 132 The Player Is Missing

Chapter 132 The Player Is Missing

Erha was escorted away by Lin Fan, Lin Fan got into Mei’s special car, sat in the back row with her, and rushed to the laboratory.

Lin Fan asked Mei: ”Have you found the reason why the bird and Zou Liang can move again after death?”

Mei nodded: ”I’ve roughly figured it out. Your guess is right. It is indeed a virus that caused the ’decadal change’. I named it the living corpse virus, which means it can ’revitalize’ corpses.”

Lin Fan chuckled: ”The name is very vivid.”

It turned out to be exactly the same as the name given by the system.

Lin Fan asked again: ”How many of us are not infected with the virus?”

”Preliminary testing did not.”

Then Lin Fan asked more details about the living corpse virus.

”According to the data currently available, it is found that this virus mainly attacks the nervous system of living things, and usually lurks in the brains of living things. Once the living things die, stimulated by the death hormone secreted in the brain, the virus is activated, proliferates and reproduces in large numbers, and takes over the living things. The nervous system allows the creature to regain its motor function and become a ’living corpse’.”

”The living corpse is aggressive, and its strength will be slightly weaker than that of the living corpse. The living corpse is also contagious. If it is scratched or bitten by it, the living creature will be infected by the living corpse virus. But the good news is that, The virus does not appear to be lethal, at least based on the current data.”

”However, the scary thing about this virus is that it infects a wide range of targets. I have led people to do many experiments, and it turns out that the virus can attack all creatures with brains. The main target is the neural nucleus in the brain stem. It’s very weird, it’s never been seen in the database, it’s definitely a new virus.”

Lin Fan nodded slightly when he heard that, the result of Mei’s experiment was similar to the effect he remembered.

”By the way, is this virus easy to kill?”

Mei replied: ”Your question is very vague. If it is outside the living body, ordinary disinfectants, sunlight, high acid, and high alkali can destroy the virus in a few minutes or even tens of seconds. But if it is inside the living body, our current Haven’t found a way to eliminate it yet.”

”It’s pretty good.” Lin Fan praised, ”Your efficiency is really fast.”

”This is the result of the overnight work of [-] researchers in the entire laboratory.”

Lin Fan gave a thumbs up: ”Salute to you.”

Soon, Lin Fan followed Mei to the laboratory and entered the virus testing area.

Since it has been detected that the living corpse virus does not spread through the respiratory tract, the level of protection has been greatly reduced, and the white coats walking around did not even wear masks.

Mei pushed open a door, and Lin Fan followed in, unexpectedly seeing a familiar face.

If Lin Fan remembered correctly, he had seen this person at the banquet, and he was a sky warrior.

Lin Fan threw him a [Probe] and found that it was indeed the sky warrior in his memory, named Harris White, a white man.

”General White, thank you for your help.” May stepped forward and shook hands with Harris.

Harris smiled all over his face: ”This is what it should be.”

After speaking, Harris left.

Just when Lin Fan was at a loss as to what a general could cooperate in the laboratory, a female assistant came over and reported to Mei: ”The test results are out, sky fighters can indeed rely on their unique psychic organs, Eliminate the zombie virus.”

There is a magical psychic organ in the sky warrior, which is located at the dantian. It is precisely because of this organ that sky warriors can mobilize spiritual energy more easily than earth warriors. At the same time, this organ can also enhance the immunity of sky fighters.

But that’s not the point. The point is that Lin Fan couldn’t believe it, and asked, ”You... use Sky Warrior to test the virus?”

”Yes!” Mei said concisely.

”They...don’t resist?”

”They are voluntary. We must know whether this new virus will pose a threat to the highest combat forces in Dongning City.”

After Mei finished speaking, she explained, ”But it’s not just testing the sky fighters directly. We will evaluate the threat level of the virus, and then start experiments from the lowest-level fighters up. The security level is below a certain threshold. It will be the turn of the Sky Warrior.”

Lin Fan: ”...”

This was challenging Lin Fan’s selfishness.

Mei glanced at Lin Fan: ”Didn’t you grow up in Dongning City, you have only been here for three months, you won’t understand, and we won’t force you to do similar experiments.”

Lin Fan really didn’t understand, but Lin Fan knew that these people were great, and he was immediately in awe.

”Can you show me the purified virus sample?” Lin Fan explained his purpose of coming to the laboratory.

Mei nodded in agreement, and led him to a laboratory table, pointing to a glass tube: ”This is the sample. But the virus is so small that it cannot be seen with the naked eye. You have to look at its structure, and there is an electronic image magnified by a microscope over there.” .”

Lin Fan didn’t care what Mei said at all, he raised his hand and threw [Investigation] towards the glass tube.

[Living corpse virus... (omitted)]

My God, this player’s [Detection] skill is cheating. He can even [Detect] viruses.

Lin Fan exclaimed: If you find a player to come to the laboratory to do scientific research, wouldn’t it be against the sky every minute? !
After reading the introduction of the living corpse virus, Lin Fan found that the effect was indeed the same as he remembered, so he was ready to leave.

But at this moment, a woman wearing a white coat who couldn’t hide her chest happily ran over happily: ”Mei, Mei, great discovery. Ah, Lin Fan, you are here too.”

This woman’s name is Huang Ling, a researcher in the laboratory, and a former student of Mei’s. She is... a very generous person.

The reason why Lin Fan knew her was because she was mainly in charge of the research and development of ”Recovery Potion”. Lin Fan still has the task of [Development of ”Primary Recovery Potion”] on the panel, and the completion rate of the task is less than 20%.

This task was received from Huang Ling.

”What makes you so happy? But pay attention, this is a laboratory and needs to be quiet.” Mei reprimanded softly.

Huang Ling’s face was full of excitement: ”Okay, okay, pay attention next time. But... a big discovery!
After being induced, the living corpse virus can actually stimulate the division of biological cells, and its division speed is very fast, and it can even reach the level of instant healing, which is simply unbelievable.I have a hunch that this virus is definitely the key to configuring the ’recovery potion’! ”

When Lin Fan heard it, he was speechless for a moment, and the brain circuit of the researchers in the secret channel was really strange.

Obviously, this is a new type of virus that makes people feel dissatisfied. Even the antidote has not been found yet. In the eyes of scientific researchers, it has become a good medicine that has a chance to cure diseases and save lives!
Maybe this is where the gap between me and researchers lies...

Lin Fan complained silently, but Mei’s eyes suddenly lit up, obviously thinking that Huang Ling’s words made sense.

”Come on, Mei, let’s go and see what I found.”

Huang Ling’s tone was excited, ”Also, Lin Fan, you come here too, haven’t you always been interested in ’Recovery Potion’.

In detail, you have contributed a lot to the ’recovery medicine’ project. In the past few months, you have provided a lot of herbs with strong recovery effects, and I have extracted many high-efficiency biological macromolecules from them. This time you brought me back the ’living corpse virus’...

You are simply my lucky star.Come on, give your sister a kiss. ”

Lin Fan avoided Huang Ling’s salty mouth: ”Don’t take advantage of me, I think you just need a man to discipline you.”

Huang Ling chuckled: ”Yes, yes, I think so too. Why don’t you, sister, let you discipline me for how many days?”

Lin Fan: ”...”

Mei’s face was slightly cold: ”This is in the laboratory, don’t talk nonsense.”

Huang Ling took Mei to other areas, and Lin Fan took the initiative to follow. He was really curious about how to discipline... Cough, how to use the living corpse virus to prepare the recovery potion.

In the blink of an eye, two hours passed.Huang Ling demonstrated the miraculous operation of ”virus inactivation→inducing agents to prepare medicines→injecting mice→observing and recording”.

【Ding! 】

[The completion rate of research and development of ”Elementary Recovery Potion” is +30%, and the current completion rate is 47.6%. Please keep up your efforts. 】

Lin Fan’s eyes lit up: We have found the right direction! !

Lin Fan immediately expressed strong affirmation of Huang Ling’s work, bragging about it, declaring that this direction is absolutely correct, and asking Huang Ling to make persistent efforts.

Huang Ling was praised so much that her headlights dangled: ”Hey, Lin Fan, your mouth is so sweet. Make sure to let my sister try it when you are free~”

Lin Fan: ”...I’m only 17 years old, please be human.”

Huang Ling smiled sweetly: ”Then I’ll wait for your 18th birthday.”

Lin Fan: ”...”

Finally, Lin Fan couldn’t bear Huang Ling’s harassment and left the laboratory.

Coming out of the building, Lin Fan suddenly found that the sun had already set.

”Speaking of which, I haven’t seen that group of sand sculpture players for a full 48 hours. I guess the players are already hungry and thirsty.”

”Also, monsters are going to attack the city tomorrow morning. I don’t know if Dongning City has found any news.”

Lin Fan went on a field trip with the intention of killing more monsters, but in the end he was locked in an isolation room for almost the whole day. His youth was wasted like this, and he was completely drained.

After thinking about it, Lin Fan casually edited a quest called [Warriors Assemble] and distributed it to all players. The task reward is 15 experience points and 20 pieces of Aquamarine’s common currency. The task content is to gather in the slum area xx.xx.xx after one hour and ask him to meet.

Lin Fan went to get his own jeep first, then drove the jeep with a hole in the roof to the meeting point, arriving on time.

Nani?people! Why is the player missing! ?

Looking left and right, Lin Fan couldn’t see anyone, and suspected that he had gone to the wrong place, but when he looked at the map, he found that this place was indeed near the coordinates specified by his mission.

what happened? Are these players not even willing to take the experience and money for nothing? And it’s getting dark now, where can they go?
At this time, three people suddenly came out from the corner of the street.

The Almighty Ultraman was walking in front, and when he saw Lin Fan, his face lit up with joy: ”Casizawa, Qiansirou, look, it’s that elite monster!”

The three of them immediately ran towards Lin Fan.

Seeing that no more people appeared from the corner of the street, Lin Fan helped the three of them clear the task of [Warrior Gathering], and then asked, ”Where are the others?”

Almighty Altman said: ”Master Lin, they were all conscripted by the military.”
