“What exactly did he say?”

“He just said that he wanted to meet me. He didn’t say anything else.” He Yuanyuan said.

“I pretended to say I was out on a business trip. He told me to send someone over to talk about it. That’s when I called you.”

“Give me his address and contact information. I’ll take care of the rest.”

“Then I won’t worry about it.”

Lin Yi nodded. “I’ll handle it.”

After finishing his business, Lin Yi hung up and drove to Liang Ruoxu’s place.

Coincidentally, Liang Ruoxu walked out just as he arrived at the entrance of the courtyard.

Dressed in a blue tailcoat skirt that reached just to her knees and a black-and-white striped V-neck blouse with three-quarter sleeves, Liang Ruoxu complemented her outfit with a black handbag. The ensemble was both beautiful and striking.

After stepping out, Liang Ruoxu glanced around and noticed that Lin Yi had changed cars, but she didn’t inquire further about it.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you dressed like this.”

Lin Yi said with a smile.

Liang Ruoxu haughtily lifted her head, “Was I not feminine before?”

“Sort of missed the mark.”

“Ah, more than just a bit off,” Liang Ruoxu pouted. “It’s always the same few outfits, never getting the chance to try something different.”

“Don’t complain,” Lin Yi consoled with a smile.

“There isn’t such a thing as perfect in everything. Your life is already quite free-spirited; be content.”

“I’m just venting to you,” Liang Ruoxu said with a gentle smile.

“I understand that, but not being able to wear beautiful clothes feels like a foodie not eating meat.”

“I think the key issue isn’t really about that.”

“Then what is it about?”

“It’s about my future mother-in-law. She can wear all the beautiful clothes, shoes, and use all the fancy bags, but you can’t. That’s where the problem lies.”

Liang Ruoxu fell silent.

He hit the nail on the head.

“Tsk, let’s not talk about this. Let’s go watch a movie.”

“We’ll watch the movie later. I’m in a little trouble here.”

“Hmm? What kind of trouble?”

Liang Ruoxu instinctively realized that something might be wrong.

With his ability and influence, there were not many things that could make Lin Yi take the initiative to voice his concerns.

“Tesla’s people found Chen Yuanqing. Then, he called our company and said that he wanted to talk to the person in charge.”

“They actually got Chen Yuanqing?” Liang Ruoxu was surprised. She hadn’t expected that such a thing would happen.

“I’m a little impressed by these people. They’re quite capable.”

“When did he arrange to meet you?” Liang Ruoxu asked seriously.

“Let me get there as soon as possible.”

“Does he think that the Wang family is still in power?” Liang Ruoxu said.

“I’ll go with you and see what he wants to say to you!”

“Let’s go.”

Following the address He Yuanyuan sent, Lin Yi drove to Chen Yuanqing’s house.

Chen Yuanqing’s house was near the outer ring of Zhonghai. Although it was a little remote, the property prices were not cheap. It was just that the house was a little old.

When they arrived at the neighborhood, the two of them were not in a hurry to get out of the car.

Lin Yi looked out of the car window, feeling that living in such a place suited his status.

“He’s from the previous government. By right, you should have met him when you came over, right?”

“We were separated by a few months.” Liang Ruoxu combed her hair and said,

“He retired normally. I was transferred here a few months later.”

“But Zhonghai was originally controlled by the Wang family. At that time, they were still the number one family. How could the Liang family place you here?”

“Because Zhonghai is too important. Even though the Wang family was the top family at that time, they didn’t have the guts to completely control this place, so they had to give up some of their power. The position of the first-in-charge was reserved for them, but the position of the second-in-charge naturally couldn’t also be ahnded to them.”

Liang Ruoxu took out a blue mask from her bag and said,

“The reason why I was sent here at such a young age was not only because of the Liang family’s influence, but also because of my opposing relationship with the Wang family. It was also the key to facilitating this matter. If it were anyone else, the higher-ups would not have agreed.”

“Are you saying that they sent you here to keep the Wang family in check?”

“Smart.” Liang Ruoxu smiled and said.

“If it wasn’t for the A.I. Chip, the Wang family would have suffered a setback at your hands. To be honest, I’m not sure if I could have been promoted.”

“It’s fine. You don’t have to thank me too much. Just wash up tonight and wait for me.”

“Screw you.” Liang Ruoxu opened the car door and got out. “Stop chatting here and get down to business.”

Lin Yi got out of the car with a smile and walked towards Chen Yuanqing’s house by following the address.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

“Here we go.”

After knocking on the door, a voice came from the room. A few seconds later, the door was opened by a woman in her sixties. Lin Yi smiled and nodded.

“Hello, I’m looking for Elder Chen.”

“He’s in the house. Come in, come in.”

The old lady was very enthusiastic and found slippers for the two of them.

Chen Yuanqing’s house was not big. It was about 90 square meters, and the layout was not bad. It was just that the interior decoration was a little dated.

An old man with black and white hair sat on the sofa. He wore reading glasses on his nose and held a newspaper in his hand.

When he saw the two of them enter, he glanced at them out of the corner of his eye.

“Are you the person in charge of Lingyun Group?”

“That’s me.” Lin Yi smiled. “Why did you call me here today?”

Chen Yuanqing put down the newspaper and didn’t say any pleasantries. He went straight to the point.

“Can you take responsibility for Lingyun Group?”

“I can. Just let me know if you need anything.”

“Then do you know who I am?”

“I do.”

“It’s good that you know. It saves me the trouble of talking nonsense.” Chen Yuanqing said.

“Tesla is a company that I brought over back then. There are some things going on now that I think should stop. Otherwise, it won’t do you any good. You understand what I mean, right?”

“Not really.”

Oh?

The expressionless Chen Yuanqing suddenly frowned with a hint of coldness.

“I’ve already made myself clear, yet you still say that you don’t understand. Are you pretending to be ignorant with me?!”

“No,” Lin Yi said faintly.

“I’m just curious. There are clearly all kinds of problems with Tesla. It’s fine if they don’t take the initiative to take responsibility, but they actually keep pushing the blame onto the consumers. The Lingyun Group chose to interfere in this matter out of the interests of the commoners. Why do you want us to stop?”

Chen Yuanqing raised his head and looked at Lin Yi with a scrutinizing gaze.

“Are you trying to reason with me?”

“You can understand it that way. It’s just a matter of fact. There’s no other meaning behind my words.”

“Young man, I don’t know what position you hold in Lingyun Group, but since you’re here, you must have a high position. Go get someone else. I don’t want to talk to you about this anymore.”

“If you want to speak to someone else, I’m afraid it won’t work.” Lin Yi said.

“I alone take full responsibility for Lingyun Group’s matters. If you don’t want to talk to me, I’ll leave. Goodbye..”
