I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 253: Chapter 157: Scratching the Itch, Gu Nan Makes a Killing

ZZZZZZT...

The fishing rod was of excellent quality. A GT simply didn’t have the power to break the rod and line.

Guo Xiao was already drenched in sweat, his stamina draining rapidly. But this was an opportunity he had worked so hard for, and he couldn’t bear to hand the rod over.

Inside the cabin, Cheng Jing watched her husband repeatedly pump the rod through the window. She suddenly felt so foolish for always stopping him from fishing, forcing him to stick to places like the shore.

He never caught any fish, and his loins didn’t get any exercise either!

”Xiaqing, what do you think about letting them go sea fishing for a week every month from now on?” Cheng Jing asked her best friend beside her.

Su Qing was taken aback, then looked at her suspiciously. ”Why the sudden idea?”

Cheng Jing explained, ”Look, no matter how much we try to stop them from fishing, they’ll still sneak out to do it. They even torture themselves by eating things like oilfish just to go out to sea. So, why not just give them more freedom?”

The two had known each other for seven or eight years and understood each other quite well. Hearing this, Su Qing naturally didn’t believe that was the only reason.

Just then, the rod was slowly dragged down again. Guo Xiao had no choice but to change his stance, bracing the rod against his fighting belt and using all his strength to pump it up. Once... twice...

But the fish’s strength was immense. It was all Guo Xiao could do to just barely lift the rod. Every time he managed to reel in a little line, it would be violently pulled out again the next moment.

He couldn’t beat this fish on his own. All he could do now was wear down its stamina and let it run for a while.

So, only when the rod’s angle dropped too low would he use his core strength to pump it back up again.

It was precisely this motion that made the previously puzzled Su Qing have a revelation. A mischievous smile spread across her face. ”So you’re doing this for the workout, huh? You little vixen, can’t Old Guo satisfy you anymore?”

Cheng Jing rolled her eyes. A woman in her thirties is a wolf on the prowl. How could he possibly satisfy me?

”You’re no better, you little minx. Can your man satisfy you?”

A woman of Su Qing’s age wasn’t one to get embarrassed. She replied candidly, ”He does alright. It’s just that every time I want it, it’s like I’m trying to kill him!”

Cheng Jing pursed her lips. ”Exactly. We both get our periods for a week every month, so we might as well let them go sea fishing and get a workout! It satisfies their desire to fish and builds up their bodies. Most importantly, we get to ’eat’ a few more ’meals’ than before. Isn’t that great?”

”Yes, yes, yes! It couldn’t be more perfect!”

Su Qing and Cheng Jing immediately struck a deal. During that one week of the month, they would kick their two men out to go fishing. That way, they wouldn’t have to deal with them being annoying at home when they were already in a bad mood.

Besides, there was a signal on the boat, so they could handle work remotely.

For some reason, Guo Xiao, who was fishing, and Wang Junhe, who had come over to watch the spectacle, both shivered at the same time.

”Old Wang, did you feel that?”

”I felt it. That feeling is so familiar!”

”But it shouldn’t be... our wives are both on the boat. They agreed to let us fish!”

”I don’t know either. Maybe it was just our imagination?”

Gu Nan saw them huddled together, and with two deckhands nearby, he decided to ignore them. Instead, he ran over and picked up his own fishing rod.

’That’s a Legendary-grade giant trevally, no doubt,’ he thought. ’It would take those two at least several hours to land it. I don’t have time to waste.’

Unfortunately, both Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao were only out here to scratch their fishing itch. They hadn’t even considered fishing for profit, so they hadn’t prepared any electric reels.

For now, Gu Nan could only fish by hand. Yi Chen was occupying the electric reel, so there was nothing he could do.

The boat rod he grabbed also had a lure on it, so he didn’t need to change it.

He scattered a few handfuls of Antarctic krill to attract some fish, then cast his line, twitching the rod tip lightly as he reeled in.

Soon, an amberjack was on the hook. Amberjack were the most numerous fish in the waters at the moment. They had been drawn over by the schools of fish to feed even before the waterspout appeared, so they were biting frequently.

Most of them were in the ten-pound range. These were still quite good, worth six or seven hundred each, and he was catching them at a decent pace.

Yi Chen watched Guo Xiao fish for a while before losing interest. She found his struggle too strenuous; it completely lacked the raw, masculine energy Gu Nan exuded.

So she went back to using the electric reel, pulling up one fish after another.

Time slowly passed. While Gu Nan and Yi Chen were having a huge haul, Guo Xiao’s face had already turned pale. He had been holding on for nearly half an hour and was just about at his limit.

Seeing his condition, Wang Junhe kindly asked, ”How about I take over? You can rest for a bit.”

”I’m... still okay...”

After spitting out those three words, Guo Xiao didn’t want to talk anymore. He felt the fish was about to give out too.

In reality, the reel handle was still slowly paying out line. He hadn’t gained back even an inch. The big GT was still swimming away, only a little slower than before.

From the looks of it, the fish could easily run for another half hour.

Thankfully, there was enough line. The fish had already run eight hundred meters out, but that was still less than a third of the spool.

Wang Junhe shook his head helplessly. His hands were itching to get a feel for the fight, but he had also offered because he could genuinely see that his friend was exhausted. Seeing that Guo Xiao wanted to persist, he could only continue to stand by him.

The next moment, a sudden cry of alarm rang out. He turned his head and, holy cow, Gu Nan had another big fish on.

His eyes lit up. ’The first one was given to Guo Xiao, so doesn’t that mean this second one is mine?’

But just as he was about to head over, Guo Xiao suddenly surrendered.
