Chapter 47: Chapter 47: A Little Fun

The earlier caution disappeared completely.

People rushed forward.

Squads even started cooperating among themselves.

Everyone wanted the little fox.

Inside the chamber, Damon almost laughed.

”They really took the bait.”

Meanwhile...

Freya’s eyes curved happily.

She even let out a smug sound.

”Kyu~”

She remembered every word Damon had told her.

’Don’t show everything.’

’Scare them.’

’And most importantly... have fun.’

Her tails swayed happily.

Then...

CRACKLE!!

Lightning exploded.

BOOM!!

An enormous wave of electricity burst outward.

”Aaaagh!”

”What?!”

”Damn!”

Several Elemental Users were sent flying immediately.

Bang!

Bodies crashed into the walls.

Smoke rose.

Hair stood upright.

A few people collapsed while twitching.

Everyone stared blankly.

The cute fox was gone.

Standing before them now was something completely different.

Wild lightning danced around Freya.

Her eight tails spread proudly.

Her eyes glowed.

And her aura... It was overwhelming.

”Kyu!”

Freya chirped proudly.

As if asking. Who wants me now?

Still...

Greed blinded people.

”Don’t stop!”

”She’s alone!”

”Capture her!”

”Move!”

Several warriors rushed forward.

Some released wind blades.

Others launched flames.

One earth user raised stone spikes.

Yet...

Freya simply smiled.

Whoosh!

She vanished.

Not fast. Just casual, as though playing with children.

The attacks missed completely.

And then...

Crackle!!

BOOOOM!!

Another wave of lightning erupted.

”Aaaaaah!”

”My legs!”

”It hurts!”

”Save me!”

Thud!

Several more people fell.

Their bodies smoked.

One man rolled across the ground.

Another’s hair had become completely black.

His friend stared at him.

”Brother...”

”You look roasted.”

”Shut up!”

CRACK!

Another lightning bolt struck him.

”AAAAAAH!”

The man twitched violently.

”H-help me!”

Meanwhile, others ignored him completely.

Some stepped over their own comrades.

”Move!”

”She’s mine!”

”My family needs this spirit!”

”Get out of the way!”

Seeing that, Freya became annoyed.

”Kyu!”

Wild lightning exploded again.

Rumble!

Dozens of arcs spread everywhere.

The next group was struck before their attacks even reached her.

Bodies dropped one after another.

”Mother!”

”I surrender!”

”Save me!”

”I don’t want the fox anymore!”

But nobody came.

Their comrades simply climbed over them and charged ahead.

Seeing this, Freya puffed her cheeks.

Then her eyes lit up.

A new toy.

This was fun. Very fun.

She raised one paw.

Crackle...

Zap!

”Aaaaah!”

Another victim fell.

Zap!

”Please!”

Zap!

”I have children!”

Zap!

”I wasn’t even interested!”

Freya tilted her head.

”Kyu?”

Then shocked him anyway.

Inside the treasure chamber, Damon burst out laughing.

”Hahaha!”

”Good job, Freya!”

”Teach them some manners!”

Freya’s tails wagged proudly.

She was clearly enjoying herself.

The more they screamed... the happier she became.

At the back of the treasure room, the Gale Seed quietly pulsed.

Thump.

It seemed confused.

Curious.

And perhaps... Amused.

Because through its connection with Damon, it could vaguely feel Freya’s emotions.

Joy.

Pride.

And mischief.

Meanwhile, outside...

The mighty Elemental Users who had crossed mountains and risked their lives to reach the floating ruin...

Were currently lying on the floor.

Twitching.

Begging.

And getting electrocuted by a smiling fox that looked entirely too happy with herself.

And watching everything unfold... Damon’s smile widened.

”Perfect.”

”Everything’s going perfectly.”

He slowly stood up.

Cracked his neck.

And stretched his arms.

Because now... It was time for the second part of the plan.

The part he had been looking forward to the most.

Extortion.

And judging by the screams outside, business was about to begin.

Outside the treasure chamber, the screams continued.

”Aaaah!”

”Stop! Stop! I surrender!”

”Please, little ancestor, spare me!”

Crackle!

Another unlucky Elemental User convulsed on the floor.

Freya proudly raised her head.

”Kyu!”

One of the men quickly threw out a precious herb.

”Take it!”

Freya lowered her head and looked at it.

Then she looked at the man.

Then at the herb again.

Silence.

The poor man suddenly had a bad feeling.

And sure enough...

Crack!

”AAAAAH!”

Wild lightning danced across his body.

His companions immediately cursed inwardly.

”You fool!”

”She wants everything!”

Sure enough, Freya stretched out her paw and pointed at his storage pouch.

”Kyu!”

”Everything?”

The man almost cried.

But seeing the sparks dancing around her tails, he hurriedly nodded.

”Everything! Everything!”

He emptied his pockets.

Beast cores.

Medicinal herbs.

Protective talismans.

Snacks.

Even his spare clothes.

Only then did Freya nod in satisfaction.

”Kyu.”

The man nearly kissed the ground in gratitude before running away for his life.

And that was only the beginning.

Soon, Freya became frighteningly professional.

Someone tried hiding a ring.

Crack!

”AAAAAAH!”

Someone secretly kept a healing potion.

Zap!

”Mercy!”

Someone buried a storage pouch beneath some stones.

Freya immediately found it.

”Kyu?”

The poor man trembled.

”How did you know?!”

Crack!

His answer came in lightning.

Very quickly, everyone understood.

Cheating wasn’t allowed.

And escaping?

That was even worse.

One unfortunate fellow tried sprinting away.

Freya narrowed her eyes.

Then... BOOM!

Lightning chased after him all the way down the hall.

”Aaaaaah!”

Everyone watched in horror as the poor man returned with smoking hair and tears in his eyes.

”I’ll give everything!”

”I was wrong!”

That scene completely destroyed everyone’s courage.

Soon, they lined up obediently.

Like children handing over allowances.

Treasures.

Beast cores.

Weapons.

Protective relics.

Snacks.

Even storage bags.

Freya accepted everything seriously.

And after taking their possessions, she generously allowed them to leave.

Or rather...

Allowed them to run.

One after another, injured Elemental Users fled down the stairs without daring to look back.

Some had tears in their eyes.

Some swore never to return.

Others had developed genuine fear towards cute foxes.

Meanwhile, inside the treasure chamber, Damon sat cross-legged with a smile on his face.

Every scream outside made him happier.

”Hahaha.”

”Good work, Freya.”

He almost pitied them.

Almost.

After all, they had come for his treasures.

Was he supposed to welcome them warmly?

Eventually, silence returned.

Damon opened his eyes.

”They’re gone?”

Just then, Freya came back proudly.

Her tails swayed happily.

The moment she saw him, she jumped straight into his arms.

”Kyu!”

Damon laughed.

”Good girl.”

He gently stroked her silver fur.

”You exceeded expectations.”

”Way beyond them.”
