I Can Devour Spirits

A few people each found their own rooms. As Lv Qingzhu and A Mo walked to their room door, Zhu Qunxiang suddenly came over and said, ”Miss Qingzhu, I’m in room Di Zi Yi. If there’s anything you need help with, feel free to come to me.”

Lv Qingzhu stood there with a smile and said, ”Sure.”

Zhu Qunxiang glanced at Lv Qingzhu and walked away happily. As he walked, he thought to himself, Miss Qingzhu appears aloof, but conversing with her is actually quite pleasant.

A Mo stood beside Lv Qingzhu, cast an annoyed glance at Zhu Qunxiang’s back, disgusted by his overly gleeful demeanor.

A Mo knew her mistress well; anyone she disliked, regardless of what they said, would only get a ”sure” from her without any extra word.

Lv Qingzhu and A Mo entered the room, drank some tea, and rested for a while.

Lv Qingzhu said, ”A Mo, let’s go out later for some fun, shall we?”

”Where to?”

Lv Qingzhu said, ”Did you hear what they were talking about on the way? Something about Huaying Building... the Four Great Flower Shadows or something...”

A Mo’s ugly face blushed and he stuttered, ”What they mentioned... seems to be... a brothel.”

Lv Qingzhu said, ”What’s wrong with a brothel? Let’s go have a look.”

”Ah...” A Mo showed a troubled expression. ”But if the master finds out, he’ll scold us...”

”If you don’t tell, how would my father know?” Lv Qingzhu looked at A Mo.

”Ah...” A Mo avoided Lv Qingzhu’s eyes. ”I surely won’t say anything...”

Lv Qingzhu said, ”A Mo, look at me.”

”Ah...” A Mo nervously lifted his head.

Lv Qingzhu said, ”Later, we’ll go to the tailor shop, find some men’s clothes to wear. Who would know we’re women? We’re just going to see the Four Great Flower Shadows; the name sounds interesting...”

”Come on!” Lv Qingzhu shook A Mo’s arm, playfully coaxing.

”Alright...” A Mo blushed and agreed.

A Mo had been utterly defenseless against Lv Qingzhu’s coaxing since childhood. Whenever Lv Qingzhu used this trick, no matter how outrageous the matter, A Mo would agree, which often led to being scolded by the master.

Seeing A Mo agree, Lv Qingzhu felt delighted.

The two had grown up in Changling Mountain, and this was their first time traveling away from home. Lv Qingzhu chose the remote Xianggu County over Divine Cloud Prefecture’s suburban Shangcai County to embark on an adventure.

A Mo, too, was venturing far for the first time. Although she felt it was inappropriate for the mistress to visit a brothel, since Lv Qingzhu said it would be fine to wear men’s clothes, it must be alright.

Eagerly, they went out, asked for directions to the tailor shop, and walked in.

The shopkeeper greeted them warmly; generally, women’s business in a tailor shop was much easier than men’s.

The shopkeeper was not surprised when they asked for men’s clothes; in these chaotic times, women buying men’s clothes wasn’t uncommon.

Lv Qingzhu quickly selected a moon-white bordered outfit.

She compared it to herself.

A Mo laughed, ”Miss, it looks like a perfect fit.”

Lv Qingzhu said, ”A Mo, from now on, don’t call me Miss, call me Young Master. Also, temporarily, I’m not Lv Qingzhu, I’m Lv Qingshan!”

A Mo pursed her lips with laughter, but when it was her turn to choose clothes, she couldn’t laugh anymore.

Though A Mo was a girl, few men were as tall as her; standing there, she resembled a small mountain.

The shopkeeper found the largest size, but A Mo still couldn’t fit into it.

A Mo looked at Lv Qingzhu with a woeful face. ”Miss...”

”It’s alright, A Mo. This humble little shop is just like that,” Lv Qingzhu said, turning to the shopkeeper, ”If we have a suit made to order, when could it be done? Could it be ready by tomorrow morning?”

”With this young lady’s size, it’s quite challenging...” The shopkeeper glanced at A Mo, showing a troubled expression. ”To rush it, it would require working overnight... However... about the price...”

Lv Qingzhu said, ”Name your price.”

The shopkeeper quoted a price.

Lv Qingzhu was slightly surprised, feeling it was quite cheap, at least much lower than the prices in Divine Cloud Prefecture.

They paid the deposit, and after the shopkeeper measured A Mo’s dimensions, they left the tailor shop.

”Miss, where are we heading now?”

Lv Qingzhu said, ”Let’s just wander around!”

They started strolling along the street; since A Mo’s clothes were not yet made, Lv Qingzhu hadn’t changed into the men’s outfit and was still wearing her flower-patterned water skirt.

They ate quite a few snacks as they walked. Earlier at the banquet, Lv Qingzhu didn’t like the atmosphere, neither drinking nor touching the dishes.

”Miss, this beef tripe bun is delicious...” A Mo praised, sniffing reasonably from the spiciness.

”Hmm, it’s quite nice.” Lv Qingzhu took a bite, chewing slowly.

While eating and walking, Lv Qingzhu suddenly stopped at an alley entrance.

Realizing Lv Qingzhu had halted, A Mo turned to her.

Lv Qingzhu stood at the alley entrance, looking at the not-so-wide alley lined with stalls, teeming with people inside.

Lv Qingzhu’s eyes brightened with interest, ”This is lively... what is this alley for?”

A Mo, having moved to Lv Qingzhu’s side, looked at one of the stalls at the alley entrance and said, ”Seems like they’re selling antiques?”

”Really?” Lv Qingzhu had already started walking in.

A Mo quickly followed along.

The alley was already crowded, but A Mo’s mountain-like stature and naturally fierce appearance were intimidating, causing pedestrians to avoid them as they walked...
