Certainly, Lu Ye had no idea if that was indeed the case. It was merely his speculation.

Perhaps the Heavens in Jiu Zhou had used some special means to find out what had happened to the broken Peerless Continent.

“What did you do?” Pang Huanyin asked again. She would never be at ease before getting to the bottom of the truth.

She was in charge of the entire Purple Star Palace. Naturally, she was worried about the fact that she suddenly had an indestructible trust for a stranger.

Moreover, the incident earlier showed that the man before her eyes was capable of strengthening that trust, which was inconceivable.

Lu Ye remained silent, considering if he should tell her the truth. Although the woman before his eyes was young, she wouldn’t be fooled easily.

Since he wanted to make use of the power of Purple Star Palace, he’d better be honest with her instead of hiding everything from her.

If the other party’s suspicions hadn’t been aroused, it wouldn’t have been necessary to tell her much. However, since Pang Huanyin was wary now, it’d be best to tell her the truth.

Furthermore, if everything went well, she would find out about their identities sooner or later.

“Will you believe me if I tell you I’m not from this world?” Lu Ye glanced calmly at her. A hint of shock flashed across her eyes, but she was soon relieved. Surprised, he asked, “Have you already thought about it?”

Pang Huanyin replied, “I indeed have this speculation. According to our ancient books, there seemed to be guests from another world in the past. All of you are powerful. You’re not from one of the two other Hidden Realms, and the bases in the outside world don’t have the heritage to nurture cultivators like you. As such, the only possibility is that you’re not from the Peerless Continent.”

Previously, the idea had only stayed temporarily in her mind, for she didn’t think it was likely to be the case.

Although there were records of guests from another world in the ancient books, those were incidents in the past, and no one knew if the tales were true.

Moreover, even if such things had happened in the past, how were Lu Ye and the others able to come to this different world, considering their powers?

Nevertheless, when all the improbabilities were eliminated, the most unlikely possibility was the truth.

“We come from a world called Jiu Zhou.”

Since Lu Ye had decided to be honest with her, there wasn’t a need to hide anything from her. As he briefly narrated the story, Pang Huanyin found out their background.

She only listened in silence without interrupting him.

It had to be said that she was sedate. Although the information was inconceivable, she could still receive it with calmness. Certainly, Lu Ye had no idea how she analysed or thought about the information in her mind.

“There are many destroyed or broken worlds in Jiu Zhou, and they’ve turned into Hidden Realms of different sizes. If the cultivators in Jiu Zhou have the chance, they can go in and get some training.”

Pang Huanyin asked with a frown, “Are you saying that the Peerless Continent is merely a training ground for all of you?”

She couldn’t accept this fact. Over the past 1,000 years, their ancestors had been resolutely trying to eliminate the Corpse Race to restore the world to its original state. However, their world was only the training ground for other people. She suddenly felt that their perseverance and sacrifices over the years were laughable.

Lu Ye shook his head. “The Peerless Continent is different from the Hidden Realms in Jiu Zhou. I haven’t visited many Hidden Realms, but other people are more experienced than I am. To all of us, the Peerless Continent is unique because this world hasn’t been destroyed yet.”

“If the worlds you’ve mentioned have been destroyed and turned into Hidden Realms, what’s the point of all of you entering those worlds?”

“The Heavens in Jiu Zhou are immensely powerful. Although the worlds have been destroyed, the Heavens are able to reenact the people and things in a particular time frame. We call it a time silhouette. In that time silhouette, the world hasn’t been destroyed, and we can do many things. For example, we can try to save that world.” Lu Ye turned to look at her. “That’s the reason the Heavens sent us to this place.”

Before Pang Huanyin could speak, he went on to say, “I visited a Hidden Realm not long ago and entered the time silhouette of a world called Soaring Dragon Boundary. While there, I did some things and acquired the acknowledgement of the World’s Source.”

“World’s Source?” Pang Huanyin arched her brow.

“This world has its own World’s Source. Perhaps a vague sense of Will has even been born. It has chosen you to save the world, so you’re the Bearer of the World’s Luck. I’m sure you must’ve felt many things.”

Pang Huanyin pressed her hand against her chest and fell deep in thought.

A moment later, she said, “You mean, the trust I have for you doesn’t come from my own mind. Instead, it’s the Will of the Peerless Continent that has affected me.”

“That’s right.” Lu Ye nodded. “The Will of a world, even if it’s at an infantile stage, knows who’s helping it or who’s harming it. Do you understand it now?”

Pang Huanyin shook her head with a smile. “It’s so surreal.”

If anyone else had told her such things, she would’ve thought the person insane. Nevertheless, since Lu Ye had told her about such a matter, she couldn’t help but believe his words. That said, she was still vigilant enough to consider his words with a pinch of salt.

“As for why I insist on going to Mount Sumeru…” Lu Ye remained silent for a moment. “If you personally go there, can you persuade them to join forces with you to deal with the Corpse Race?”

Pang Huanyin shook her head. “Of the three Hidden Realms, only we’ve been proactively trying to get rid of the Corpse Race in the past 1,000 years. Those from Silver Snake Valley are cowards as they’re more concerned about fighting for power. On the other hand, even though those from Mount Sumeru have proclaimed that if the people from Silver Snake Valley agree to make a move, they will follow suit as well. However, they’ve been trying to steer clear of the matter. It’s just that they aren’t willing to make their stance clear to avoid offending us. We can’t pin our hopes on them. If they were brave enough, we wouldn’t have fallen into such a difficult situation.”

At the mention of this, she was furious about their inaction, but at the same time, she was sorrowful over what had happened to this world.

“Do you mean it’s difficult to make them join forces with you?”

“It’s impossible.”

“I certainly have to go to Mount Sumeru, then.” Lu Ye nodded. “If you’re able to send me to Mount Sumeru, I have a way to make sure they’ll fight the Corpse Race.”

“How do you do that?” Pang Huanyin arched her brow as her interest was piqued.

“I can’t tell you yet.” Lu Ye shook his head.

Pang Huanyin stared fixedly at him, and upon seeing that he was unfazed, she snorted. “You’re just trying to be mysterious.”

Soon, she realised her behaviour had been inappropriate, so she quickly straightened her face.

Recalling something, she said, “You’ve visited Silver Snake Valley. Does that mean…”

“When the time comes, they won’t have the energy to fight for power anymore. Despite their reluctance, they’ll have no choice but to deal with the Corpse Race.”

“What about us? Have you left behind any move?” Pang Huanyin squinted her eyes.

“The situation in the Palace is different from the other two Hidden Realms, so such a move isn’t needed.”

“I have a feeling you’re lying to me.” Pang Huanyin frowned.

“Why would I?” Lu Ye appeared serious. “I’ve confessed everything to you. There isn’t a need for me to lie to you.”

Pang Huanyin studied him for a moment before dipping her head. “I hope you’re telling the truth.”

As the night breeze whisked through them, their clothes flapped in the air.

“Come with me tomorrow. I’ll bring you to Mount Sumeru.” Pang Huanyin finally made up her mind.

Lu Ye wasn’t surprised that she could do that. “Thanks, Palace Master.”

“If things are just as what you’ve said, I’m just trying to save this world. Cultivators from the Peerless Continent should be the ones thanking you instead.” Pang Huanyin placed her hands behind her back and looked at him with a tilted head. “Since I’ve agreed to the first two demands, isn’t it time for you to tell me the third?”

Although she was a Palace Master, she was also a woman who was naturally curious.

Lu Ye had kept her on tenterhooks by not finishing his words at the banquet.

“I’ll tell you when I’m done with it. I’m sure you won’t turn me down.”

A hint of contempt appeared on Pang Huanyin’s face. “I hate people like you who love keeping secrets to themselves.”

She then turned around and left the place as the wind brought her voice to Lu Ye. “I can’t bring many people to Mount Sumeru. You can choose one person to tag along.”

Lu Ye smiled while watching her leave. He knew that he would certainly achieve his goal.

Then, he returned to his place and summoned the three of them. He cut to the chase, saying, “Pang Huanyin has agreed to bring me to Mount Sumeru. Will any one of you come with me?”

“They have a way to enter Mount Sumeru?” Feng Rulie was shocked. During the banquet, they were told that there wasn’t a way to enter Mount Sumeru, but now, they were told that they could do that. It was true that one shouldn’t easily believe others while venturing into the outside world. After giving it some thought, he realised that those from the Palace were not obliged to tell them everything. He wondered how Lu Ye even made the Palace Master agree to it.

Lu Qing frowned. “Is she going to use a special move to enter Mount Sumeru?”

“I have no idea. I didn’t ask her anything about it.” Lu Ye shook his head. “She only said that she couldn’t take too many people with her. I can only bring one person.”

Ying Wuji kept moving backwards to weaken his presence.

Lu Qing said, “In that case, I recommend Brother Ying.”

Following that, he and Feng Rulie tacitly separated, revealing the stealthy Ying Wuji.

Lu Ye shifted his attention to Ying Wuji, who secretly cursed Lu Qing.

“You might need to gather some information there. As a Ghost Cultivator, Brother Ying is the best candidate to do that.” Lu Qing provided an analysis in all seriousness.

“What do you say, Ying Wuji?” Lu Ye asked. “Certainly, I won’t force you to come with me. I can go there on my own.”

[Does my opinion even matter? How dare I say no?]

Ying Wuji stepped forward and said, “The Heavens have sent all nine of us to this place, and I’m the only Ghost Cultivator. Naturally, I’m the best at gathering information. I’ll go with you.”

He reckoned that if he backed down at this point, a vindictive Lu Ye would make things difficult for him in the future.
