Many cultivators were seen entering and leaving the Valley of Medicine. Even though many of them were exhausted and injured, they still couldn’t get some rest.

People like them who could walk around on their own were in a better state.

Many people had missing arms or legs. The badly injured ones weren’t even able to get out of their beds.

After the epic battle under the Heavenly Gully, all the invaders from Blood Boundary had been wiped out, but the cultivators in Soaring Dragon Boundary had also paid an unimaginable price.

The recorded history in this world showed that there had never been a war that was as large-scale as this. The number of casualties was the highest in history.

In front of the hut, a frail Lu Ye was seated on the chair where Zhuang Bufan used to sit. His lower body was covered with a blanket made from animal skin, and he coughed from time to time.

The Divine Healer was just beside him as she examined him.

After Lu Ye killed the old Blood Race member during the epic battle, he became unconscious. It wasn’t until the day before that he regained consciousness. It was the result of the Divine Healer using all her moves. Otherwise, he would’ve remained unconscious for a longer time. He might even have lost his life in that state.

Although he had awakened, he was in a terrible condition. There wasn’t any injury on his body, but he felt that he had never been more frail. It was as if everything inside his body had been sucked out of him.

He was a young man who was around twenty years old, but presently, some wrinkles had formed on his face, and his hair had turned grey.

Yi Yi, Ye Liuli, and Huang Liang were waiting with anxiety.

Moments later, the Divine Healer retracted her hand from Lu Ye’s wrist and tucked his hand under the blanket.

“How is he, Senior?” Yi Yi asked anxiously.

Huang Liang also looked at her with worry written all over his face.

The Divine Healer took a look at Lu Ye, who said weakly, “Please be frank with me. I understand my condition very well.”

Only then did the Divine Healer dip her head and replied, “You’re alright for now.”

Instead of becoming elated, Yi Yi appeared even more nervous. That was because she understood the underlying meanings behind the Divine Healer’s words.

“His body is extremely frail. Although he’s alright for now, no one can tell what will happen in the future,” explained the Divine Healer.

In fact, based on her experience, Lu Ye probably only had one month left to live, given his condition.

It was the result of Lu Ye consuming a lot of Spirit Pills and five drops of Soul Cleansing Water before he activated the Dragon Throne. If not for the fact that he was well-prepared, all his vitality would’ve left his body the moment he was done destroying the altar.

Due to the limit in Soaring Dragon Boundary, the cultivators in this world could only make it to the Peak Cloud River Realm. Even when invaders like the Blood Race members arrived in this world, they were unable to use a power that exceeded the limit in this world.

However, an external power like the Dragon Throne wasn’t restricted. Its only restriction came from the cultivator’s limit. Under the Heavenly Gully, the attack that Lu Ye had cast far exceeded the limit of the Cloud River Realm. It was only natural that he had to pay a price.

Now, it seemed that the price was unbearable.

“Since his body is frail, can’t we try to restore his energy?” Yi Yi asked apprehensively. “We have many restoring pills. Also, we have Dragon Scales and Soul Cleansing Water to use.”

Dragon Scales could replenish vitality while Soul Cleansing Water could restore the soul. Yi Yi felt that since Lu Ye was frail, they could try to revitalise him.

The Divine Healer let out a sigh and shook her head. “There’s a source in any world, and it’s the same case for Humans. Take this world as an example. Blood Boundary has been sucking the heritage out of this world for eight hundred years, so a lot of the source is gone, resulting in the limit of the cultivators lowering gradually. Unless the source of this world could be restored, we won’t be able to regain the glory we had eight hundred years ago. It’s the same for Lu Ye’s condition. This kind of frailty couldn’t be healed with ordinary items.”

“Don’t you have any solutions, Senior?” Yi Yi was on the brink of breaking into tears.

“I’m… powerless to help him.” If the Divine Healer had a solution, Zhuang Bufan wouldn’t have lost his life. Lu Ye was in the same state as Zhuang Bufan back then. His last bit of vitality could only allow him to live for a short time.

After the Divine Healer was gone, Yi Yi crouched down in front of Lu Ye and bawled her eyes out. However, she was an apparition. Regardless of how sorrowful she was, she couldn’t shed any tears, thus making it impossible for her to vent her emotions.

Amber appeared downcast as well. The tiger crouched down beside them with a sorrowful gaze.

Seeing that, Huang Liang sighed. “Please get some rest, little friend. I’ll visit you again.”

His speculation was right. The young man before his eyes was the saviour. Just as everyone in Soaring Dragon Boundary was in a despairing state, Lu Ye activated the Dragon Throne and destroyed the altar, bringing hope to this world.

However, looking at Lu Ye in his current state, Huang Liang felt frustrated.

Was the saviour supposed to pay such a heavy price?

Lu Ye was only a young man around twenty years old. He had saved the world, but who in the world could save him?

Even the Divine Healer was powerless to help him. As such, no one else in this world could lend him a helping hand.

“Please stay here for a while more, Senior.” Lu Ye patted Yi Yi’s trembling shoulders while looking at Huang Liang. “I’d like to know what happened at the Heavenly Gully.”

Huang Liang appeared hesitant. “Little friend…”

“Since I’ve paid such a huge price, I believe I have the right to find out what happened.”

Huang Liang let out a sigh. Since Lu Ye had said so, he would appear cruel if he still turned him down.

As such, he told him everything he knew.

After the war, all the invaders were killed, and the altar was destroyed as well. Thanks to the attack with the world’s help, even the Blood Boundary’s connection to Soaring Dragon Boundary had become weaker.

However, that wasn’t the end of everything. The Heavenly Gully was still around, and Blood Boundary was still hovering outside Soaring Dragon Boundary. They hadn’t solved the source of the problem.

The Blood Race members weren’t able to invade this world for the time being. Nevertheless, as time passed, the connection between the two worlds would become closer, and the Blood Race members would certainly strike again.

Moreover, as Blood Boundary was attached to Soaring Dragon Boundary, it continuously absorbed the heritage of this world, which was the source of the world that the Divine Healer had mentioned.

Therefore, even if the Blood Race members wouldn’t invade this world again, they would still be destroyed eventually if they couldn’t get rid of Blood Boundary.

“To avoid the Blood Race members’ invasion, we’re building a Grand Ward under the Heavenly Gully in a hurry. That way, even if Blood Race members appear again, they will fall into our trap.”

There was no doubt the Blood Race members were powerful, but if the cultivators in this world were well-prepared, they could easily kill their opponents.

Once a Grand Ward was established, its power would be destructive.

But that was it. The only thing the cultivators in this world could do was target the Blood Race members.

They didn’t have any way to get rid of Blood Boundary.

That was probably the saddest thing in life. They were fully aware that there was a blade above their heads that was coming down slowly, but there was nothing they could do to stop it.

Once the blade struck, the entire world would be gone for good, and all the living creatures would lose their lives. It was a calamity that would destroy everything.

Upon hearing Huang Liang’s narration, Lu Ye flicked his finger, after which a jade slip appeared.

“I’ve prepared some information about the Way of Wards. I hope this will help all of you.”

Huang Liang was startled for a moment before appearing respectful. He saluted Lu Ye and said, “Thanks, little friend.”

He couldn’t help but think that the young man before his eyes lived up to his name as the saviour. Despite the fact that his days were numbered, he was still concerned about the Soaring Dragon Boundary. His kindness deserved the utmost respect.

Huang Liang had heard from the Ward Cultivators from his Sect that Lu Ye was well-versed in the Way of Wards. As such, the information he had prepared must be immensely useful.

“Please go and do your own things, Sect Master Huang.” Lu Ye weakly waved his hand.

Huang Liang nodded. “I’ll visit you another time, little friend.”

Huang Liang left the place while feeling sorry for the young man. He felt that Lu Ye was dying too soon.

Yi Yi was still sobbing while Lu Ye stroked her head to comfort her in silence.

All of a sudden, Yi Yi recalled something and lifted her head. “Lu Ye, why don’t we go back to Jiu Zhou?”

Given Lu Ye’s condition, the Divine Healer and everyone else in Soaring Dragon Boundary were powerless to help. However, that didn’t mean no one in Jiu Zhou could save him.

Regardless, there were Divine Ocean Realm Masters in Jiu Zhou, so they were naturally more powerful than the cultivators in Soaring Dragon Boundary.

Perhaps the Divine Ocean Realm Masters could easily treat the injury that the Divine Healer couldn’t.

Lu Ye shook his head. “We’re unable to go back.” Certainly, he had thought about returning to Jiu Zhou as well.

However, how was he supposed to do that? When he was in the Lost City of Xianyuan, he was sent out of the Hidden Realm by the City Lord.

In Myriad Beast Domain, it wasn’t until he solved the calamity facing the world that a passageway that led to the Cloud River Battlefield appeared in the quartermaster department.

What about the Soaring Dragon Boundary?

It wasn’t certain if somewhere like the quartermaster department existed. Even if there was such a place, there wouldn’t be a passageway that led to Jiu Zhou before the crisis in Soaring Dragon Boundary was solved.

That was the main reason he still activated the Dragon Throne without hesitation despite knowing its danger.

He wasn’t someone who put everyone else before himself, nor was he a hero who was willing to sacrifice himself for others.

Since the very beginning, he had always been aware that the moment he entered Soaring Dragon Boundary, his fate was intertwined with that of this world.

If he wanted to survive, he had to save this world.

Unfortunately, even though he had gone all out, he had only managed to delay the time of destruction. He was unable to solve the calamity.

Perhaps only when he solved the crisis in this world would a passageway that led to Jiu Zhou appear. But before that, he couldn’t leave this world.

The situation in Soaring Dragon Boundary was different from that in Myriad Beast Domain.

Many cultivators from Jiu Zhou could enter the Myriad Beast Domain and join forces to solve the crisis.

However, in this world, Lu Ye was on his own. There wasn’t a chance for him to join forces or have a discussion with other cultivators.

“What should we do, then?” Yi Yi felt lost. Looking at Lu Ye in such a state, she felt that her heart had been twisted, but there was nothing she could do.

At that moment, she hated herself for not having the aptitude in the Way of Medicine. If she had chosen to become a Medical Cultivator, she could’ve helped Lu Ye in many ways.

In fact, she had wanted to become a Medical Cultivator in the beginning, and she had been learning from Shui Yuan for a long time. However, she didn’t show any special talent in this Way. Instead, she seemed to be gifted in the Way of Spells, and it was later proven that it was the path that suited her the most.
