“Are you here to talk about the Blood Race members that have been captured, Seniors?” Lu Ye asked.

Huang Liang nodded with a solemn expression. “For the past two days, the Blood Race members at the Heavenly Gully have been staying put. That’s why I’m worried.”

Although it was their first time coming into contact with Blood Race members, who were from another world, they were apparently terrible people as they would invade other worlds.

After they suffered a setback in the Valley of Medicine, Huang Liang and the others were worried they would strike again. However, two days had passed, but they still hadn’t made a move.

There was something off about their unusual behaviour. As such, Huang Liang and the others had been monitoring what was going on at the Heavenly Gully.

Faced with such strange enemies, they couldn’t gather much information by keeping an eye on them. The best way was to glean some information from Blood Race members.

There was no doubt that the Blood Race members that Lu Ye had captured would be useful if they wanted to gather some information. They could do so by interrogating them.

Since Lu Ye was the one who captured them, they had to inform him about it first.

“Please go ahead and do it, Seniors. That’s the reason I even captured them.”

“Thanks, little friend.” Huang Liang appeared grateful.

“Anyway, please allow me to listen to them on the sidelines.” Lu Ye was curious about the Blood Race. He was as equally clueless as everyone else about the Blood Race since it was also his first time coming into contact with them.

“Sure.” Huang Liang directly agreed to it.

A moment later, Lu Ye and the three of them arrived at the Trap Ward where the Blood Race members had been confined.

Although two days had passed, they were still very weak. Moreover, some cultivators had been keeping an eye on them. As such, there was no way they could run away.

Upon seeing Lu Ye and the others, these Blood Race members appeared vigilant.

They had been detained in this place for the past two days, but no one had come to harass them. Since these people were here, they were apparently about to do something.

As prisoners, these Blood Race members had already expected the worst outcome.

Standing outside the Trap Ward, Huang Liang swept a glance over them and said impassively, “I’m the Sect Master of the Imperial Sect, Huang Liang. I’d like to ask you something. Is any one of you willing to speak?”

One of them spat at Huang Liang despite being separated by the ward. Some of them snorted while a hot-headed one yelled, “You want to get information about the Blood Race? In your dreams! Kill us if you can!”

Although they were frail, they were still obstinate and ferocious.

Huang Liang wasn’t surprised by that. Without saying anything, he sent a signal to a guard, who directly dashed into the Trap Ward and brought out the noisiest Blood Race member.

Even though the Blood Race member appeared weak, he flared up suddenly after leaving the ward in an attempt to struggle out of the restriction. Nevertheless, the cultivator who restricted him wasn’t weak either. He was well-prepared, so he wouldn’t let the Blood Race member flee.

He repeatedly struck the Blood Race member, causing him to collapse to the ground.

Inside the Trap Ward, the other Blood Race members widened their eyes in fury and growled, but they were ignored.

With his hands behind his back, Huang Liang looked condescendingly at the Blood Race member and asked dispassionately, “What’s your name?”

Although he wasn’t adept at interrogation, he was an experienced man, after all. He knew that he couldn’t rush things through under such a circumstance, so he didn’t directly ask him about the Blood Race and Blood Boundary. Instead, he was trying to get the other party to speak. As long as the Blood Race member was willing to say something, they would stand a chance to gather more information.

“Call me Grandpa!” The Blood Race member looked up with bloodshot eyes as he glared at Huang Liang. Despite his weak aura, he was aggressive.

Huang Liang nodded and pointed at the other party’s forehead without a word. There seemed to be some lightning around the tip of his finger.

Wariness and fear flashed across the Blood Race member’s furious gaze.

Blood Race members were afraid of the Lightning Technique. The cultivators in Soaring Dragon Boundary were already aware of that. Anyway, they had some basic understanding of the Blood Race following the epic battle in the Valley of Medicine a while back.

As Huang Liang’s finger came closer, the Blood Race member wanted to resist. However, how was he supposed to do that when he was so frail?

The finger came into contact with the Blood Race member’s forehead. In an instant, the lightning expanded and engulfed him.

As a sizzling sound was heard, the lightning wandered around the Blood Race member and kept flickering. He started shrieking as though he was going through the most horrible torture and pain.

“Amitabha!” Guang Jing lowered his gaze and fiddled with the beads in his hand while chanting something.

The lightning retracted all of a sudden. The Blood Race member was paralysed on the ground as though all his bones were broken.

“What’s your name?” Huang Liang asked again.

“I’m… your… Grandpa!” the Blood Race member said through gritted teeth.

Huang Liang pointed at him again as the lightning surged.

A moment later, he retracted his hand and asked the same question.

After more than ten times, all the vitality left the already frail Blood Race member. He was killed during the torture.

Even though he knew he was going to get killed, he never submitted to Huang Liang, which went to show how resolute he was.

The guards around this place felt cold all over their bodies, thinking that if they were in the Blood Race member’s shoes, they wouldn’t have been so obstinate. They would’ve revealed all the information following the torture.

It had nothing to do with morality or the fear of death. When the torture went beyond one’s limit, he would suffer a mental breakdown.

Certainly, Huang Liang didn’t care about a Blood Race member getting tortured to death. He had been dispassionate the entire time, giving the Blood Race members an impression that he was callous and savage.

In truth, despite his age, he had never done anything like this before.

Even when he came across evil people in the past, he would directly kill them instead of torturing them.

However, the Blood Race was a threat to the future of the Soaring Dragon Boundary. Therefore, despite not liking it and having never done it, he had to adapt quickly and make sure the enemies couldn’t see through him.

Only then could he make the Blood Race members afraid and wary of him. When he gave them the impression that he was even more savage than them, they would suffer a mental breakdown.

The process of torturing the Blood Race member was also a form of psychological manoeuvre. Huang Liang understood that as he was old and shrewd.

Another Blood Race member was taken out of the Ward Trap. Despite his ferocious expression, there was a hint of fear as he looked at Huang Liang.

Their companion had been tortured to death by the Lightning Technique. Regardless of how obstinate they were, it wasn’t possible that they were unafraid.

Huang Liang did the same thing by asking a question and using the Lightning Technique.

However, regardless of the kind of torture they went through, they wouldn’t reveal any information. One of them cursed at Huang Liang, and another one attacked him in an attempt to get killed sooner. There was also a Blood Race member who clenched his teeth and remained silent. He was so forceful that even his teeth broke apart.

One hour later, four corpses of the Blood Race were lying on the floor.

Nevertheless, they didn’t manage to get any information about the Blood Race, not even the names of these people.

All of them sported solemn expressions.

If one Blood Race member was so strong-willed, it could be attributed to his disposition. However, if all of them were the same, it could be considered the characteristic of their Race.

These invaders were not only aggressive and had some strange moves, but they were also strong-willed. There was no doubt it was a nightmare to have to deal with enemies like them.

After the fourth Blood Race member died, Huang Liang turned to look at the remaining ones with hesitation.

It wasn’t that he felt morally pressured. As a cultivator in Soaring Dragon Boundary as well as the Sect Master of the Imperial Sect, he had no sympathy for invaders like them because kindness towards the enemies was cruelty towards oneself.

If he could get some information about the Blood Race, that might prevent more casualties in the Boundary.

However, he could tell that given the current development, even if he tortured all of them to death, he wouldn’t acquire any useful information.

It was difficult to capture Blood Race members. If they missed this chance, they might not have another way to obtain information about them.

Noticing his hesitation, these Blood Race members started provoking him.

Huang Liang let out a sigh. One’s sense of intimidation would be weakened if he appeared hesitant. His brief moment of hesitation caused all his effort to go down the drain. He turned to look at Yuan Changcun. “Is there anyone in Grandeur Academy who is good at interrogation?”

He didn’t ask Guang Jing because the monks from Vajra Temple were kind-hearted. Certainly, they knew nothing about interrogation.

Yuan Changcun replied calmly, “All of us at the Academy are scholars.”

There was no way scholars like them would interrogate anyone as that might tarnish their reputation.

Anyway, all three major Sects were reputable, so no one was adept at despicable moves. Only when they needed to use such moves did they realise no one could do it.

“I heard people shrieking from afar, and I wondered what you guys were doing.” A gentle voice was heard coming from behind just then.

All of them turned around and saw the Divine Healer shuffling towards them. She stood beside Lu Ye and asked, “Have you gotten anything useful?”

Huang Liang shook his head with a helpless smile. “Nothing.”

With a gentle expression, the Divine Healer asked, “Why don’t you let me give it a try?”

A shocked Huang Liang replied, “You can certainly give it a try, but they’re all obstinate people.”

There was an amiable smile on the Divine Healer’s face as she said, “There’s no harm in giving it a try. Even though they’re obstinate, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible to glean any information from them.”

Lu Ye squinted and instinctively widened his gap with the woman.

Upon noticing that, the Divine Healer turned to look at him. “What are you doing, little friend?”

“Nothing. I just thought of a friend.” The corners of Lu Ye’s eyes twitched.

Hua Ci and the Divine Healer were both Medical Cultivators. Besides that, they also looked identical and had the same kind of amiable smile. When Lu Ye looked at the woman, some terrible memories came to mind.

“Your friend must be an interesting person. That’s why you miss them so much,” the Divine Healer replied with a smile before shifting her attention to the guards. “Please take all of them out.”

The guards glanced at Huang Liang, awaiting permission. After giving it some thought, Huang Liang nodded.
