His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1410: Chapter 398: Daddy Teaches Mommy How to Kiss (Part 9)

The car was parked by the side of the road, she had one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding her phone.

However, she didn’t have the courage to make that call. In less than two minutes, the car was back on the road.

But shortly after, the car stopped again.

”I’ve heard you went to the hospital again? Are you feeling better now?”

Qin Mu held the phone to her ear with one hand, the other hand clenched into a fist naturally resting on her leg.

”Hmm!”

Qin Mu was silent for a moment, as the other end only responded with a hmm.

Then she smiled, looking at the trees beside her: ”Master! You must take good care of yourself! That way, I can develop well in Rongcheng!”

”I know! There have been a lot of things happening recently, I haven’t been eating on time, don’t worry too much, I’ll pay attention in the future!”

Maybe it was because the voice on the other side was a bit hoarse that Qin Mu couldn’t help but lower her head.

She understood everything, but she couldn’t give it!

She never believed that love and obligation couldn’t coexist, but now, she finally understood.

”Did Master make things difficult for you again?”

Jian Yan asked when Qin Mu didn’t speak for a long time.

”No! It’s just heartbreaking!”

Qin Mu felt a bit aggrieved, like a child, clenching her jaw to keep herself from crying.

When did she become so emotional?

Qin Mu couldn’t stand herself being like this, like a child, her eyes easily welling up.

But now, she couldn’t control her emotions.

”I seem very happy! Hearing you say it’s heartbreaking! Is it heartbreaking for Master?”

Afterwards, it was as if they were joking!

”Yes!”

She didn’t even dare to argue with him, afraid to upset him.

”Give me some more time, I’ll get better, okay?”

Jian Yan spoke to her in a low voice, hearing her voice a little off, how could he bear to make things hard for her.

”Hmm!”

Qin Mu agreed while stubbornly raising her hand to wipe away her tears.

”Let’s hang up, the nurse will come for rounds soon.”

Jian Yan whispered to her.

Later, the car was on the road again, until it reached the Mu Family’s home. Qin Mu drove along the seaside road, opening the car window, letting the sea breeze caress her face.

She understood that after making the call, they both felt relieved.

Once she got home, she was in a good mood, with only the old man at home, and when he saw her come back, he cheerfully called her, ”Granddaughter-in-law, back so early? Planning to leave again?”

”Not leaving! Grandpa, I’ll go change my clothes, then come back to play a game of chess with you.”

”Alright!”

The old man was glad to hear that, having been bored and not knowing what to do. He was tired of watching TV, but hearing Qin Mu’s words, he couldn’t hide his happiness at the corner of his mouth.

Later, Qin Mu kept the old man company playing chess, and by five o’clock, she drove the old man to the school to pick up Huanhuan and Zifeng.

It was the old man’s first time coming to the school, and he was a bit excited on the way.

”Oh, how many years has it been since I last went to a school? The last time was when Yichen was attending kindergarten!”

The old man looked ahead, reminiscing about when Mu Yichen was small, and at that time, he was still young, and the feeling of going to pick up his grandson was full of pride and contentment.

But now...

Sometimes he refused to accept aging, but sometimes, especially at times like these, there are things he must reluctantly concede to.

”But now the schools seem different from before, don’t they?”

The old man asked again.

”Conditions are better now!”

Qin Mu remembered the kindergarten from her childhood compared to now, and the difference was noticeable, especially in terms of science and technology.

”Kids these days are probably countless times happier than before. Back when I was young, in the countryside, the school grounds were made of concrete, but at that time, a bunch of silly kids were content and didn’t think it was bad at all.”

The old man unknowingly started reminiscing.

”We’re here!”

Qin Mu slowly parked the car, reminding the old man, who turned to look over and saw people already headed out of the school with the children.

”Oh! Did we miss the timing?”

”It’s fine!”

Qin Mu chatted with him as she helped him out of the car, and they walked in together.

The principal stood outside, nervous to meet the Mu Family’s old man for the first time.

”This is our family’s old man! Grandpa, this is Principal Gao!”

Qin Mu gave them a brief introduction.

”I’ve long heard that old man Mu’s vigor hasn’t diminished over the years, seeing you today, I have to agree, you look just over sixty and still very robust!”
