His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1404: Chapter 396: Daddy Teaches Mommy How to Kiss (Part 7)

”Are you going to stay idle your whole life? You can’t always have someone else do what you’re supposed to do, right?”

An Nan asked.

”That’s true, but I’m used to... Forget it, I’ll listen to you!”

Jiang Zhiyuan thought for a moment. The past is past. From now on, Jiang Zhiyuan must work properly and punch the clock. He can’t live as casually as he did when he was single. Now, he has this woman in his life, and it’s different.

Responsibility and duty seem to slowly be landing on his shoulders.

At least now he has that awareness.

In the afternoon, after An Nan left and passed by the JY Store, she went in to pick out some clothes. Qin Mu happened to be there checking out the products, so the two chatted for a while. An Nan said that Jiang Zhiyuan was learning to cook, and he was quite serious about it. Qin Mu found it hard to accept, even though she received a message from Jiang Zhiyuan in the morning. She thought he was just joking around.

”I honestly didn’t expect him to be so serious.”

An Nan said, with a bit of a blush on her face.

Qin Mu watched quietly and couldn’t help but chuckle lightly: ”Did it move you to the point of wanting to marry him?”

”A little!”

An Nan replied.

Qin Mu looked at her. She didn’t dare to encourage anyone to marry or break up, but she was very surprised by An Nan’s response.

When the two parted ways, it was already quite late. Qin Mu stood at the store entrance watching An Nan’s car drive away. Just as she was about to go inside, she noticed a girl about her age standing in front of a BMW across the street, staring at her, observing.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but think of the man on the phone — the woman who wanted Mu Yichen to back her up.

The two looked at each other from across the street for a while. Afterward, that woman didn’t come over to greet her and just got in her car and left. Qin Mu decided not to think too much of it and turned to enter the store.

Wang Li was sitting on the sofa and watched her come in and sit down, then curiously asked her: ”Was that girl across the street just now looking at you?”

”Could be!”

Qin Mu thought, answering softly.

Wang Li didn’t know what to say. She always felt Qin Mu had too many troubles around her, but for the moment didn’t know where to begin, so she kept silent.

Originally, Qin Mu didn’t want random encounters with every Tom, Dick, and Harry, but now, she could only sigh silently.

—

When Mu Yichen received the call, Wang Ru’an was sitting in his office. After hanging up the phone, he glanced up: ”If they’re your friends, don’t put me in a difficult position! I don’t want your sister going to my wife again, I hope this doesn’t happen a second time.”

”Was it your wife’s call?”

Wang Ru’an curiously asked him.

”If this kind of thing has to be relayed to me through my wife, it would only show how much of a failure I am.”

Mu Yichen put the phone aside, sat in the sofa with his hands clasped, his sharp eyes glanced at the man across from him who was a few years older and somewhat mischievous.

”I didn’t expect my sister to go to your wife, but I think, the reason my sister went to her is probably because your wife is too controlling over you. You know my sister’s personality; she never accepts other women acting more domineering than her.”

”My wife is not just ’any other woman’! If this happens again, then our ties can only end here!”

Mu Yichen understood Wang Xin’an’s intention, but he also knew what kind of life he wanted, and he couldn’t let his family be disturbed anymore.

Even if Qin Mu didn’t say anything, he would certainly not allow such disruptive people to interfere in her life again.

”Mr. Mu! You’re quite ruthless there, don’t forget back then...”

”Back then? Have I treated you and your sister poorly these past few years?”

Hearing him bringing up the past again, Mu Yichen frowned and asked Wang Xin’an with an unyielding intensity in his gaze.

”Of course not! How could Mr. Mu possibly treat us poorly? We siblings have come back this time also relying on your support, right? Mr. Mu, don’t be angry, we can talk about anything!”

Seeing that Wang Xin’an finally realized he needed to show some vulnerability, Mu Yichen leaned back slightly, still looking at him with a stern expression.

”The other reason for this return is that my father’s heart condition has flared up again, and the doctor said he might not make it through this time. My sister is still entangled with that guy, although they’ve divorced, they will certainly get back together, so please don’t overthink it. We siblings, we are definitely not the type to destroy someone else’s family.”

Wang Xin’an explained again.

Mu Yichen remained silent, just listening with a cold gaze.

—

When she was about to go home, Qin Mu received a call from Mu Yichen, his cool voice coming through the receiver: ”Wait for me there! I’ll come pick you up!”

”I can go back myself; don’t trouble yourself!”

Qin Mu thought if he came to pick her up now, she would still have to come back to get the car the next day.

”Stay there and wait! I’ll be there soon!”

Mu Yichen said before hanging up the call. Qin Mu stood at the store entrance without leaving. Later, a few familiar wealthy ladies came, and she led them inside to select clothes.

At that time, Mu Yichen just arrived across from her store. After parking the car, he didn’t go in; instead, he quietly waited for her in the car.

When she came out again, with those ladies, the sun had already set. She bade farewell to those enthusiastic people with a smile and then looked straight ahead. Mu Yichen was leaning against the side of the car, one hand in his pants pocket, the other holding a cigarette casually hanging down.
