Harem Master: Seduction System

Chapter 83: Azure Spirit Lion

The cavern was eerily quiet, save for the faint sound of dripping water echoing off the icy walls. While the Silver Ravens Guild fought fiercely on the third level of the dungeon, a new group of intruders silently entered through the shadowed tunnels of the first floor.

Cloaked in robes as dark as midnight, this smaller group moved with an ominous grace, their presence like a cold whisper of death. The air around them seemed to thrum with a sinister energy, a palpable mixture of blood magic and shadow that even the darkness seemed to shy away from.

Leading the group was Brynja, a towering man whose broad shoulders and sharp features radiated authority. His cold, obsidian eyes flicked over the path ahead. ”Gunnlod,” he said, his deep voice cutting through the silence like a blade, ”are you certain this is the right place?”

A lean man with a wolfish grin stepped forward, his glowing, almost feral eyes scanning the walls as if they held secrets only he could perceive. ”The divinations are precise,” Gunnlod replied confidently. ”Saint Cael of the Celestial Insight Society assured me the Azure Spirit Lion resides here. His reputation for accuracy precedes him.”

Brynja’s lips twisted into a smirk, though his gaze remained skeptical. ”He’d better not have been mistaken. Our master does not tolerate failure.”

Gunnlod chuckled darkly. ”Saint Cael knows the price of deceiving the Phantom Assembly. He would not risk his life or that of his prized disciple.”

Brynja nodded, his focus shifting back to the cavern’s depths. ”Good. Then let us waste no more time. Lord Vorthan awaits the essence of this beast, and we will deliver.”

The group pressed forward, their movements precise and silent. Gunnlod’s fingers brushed against the icy wall, pausing at a barely perceptible indentation. With a soft click, he activated a hidden mechanism. The grinding of stone filled the air as a concealed passage revealed itself, flickering torchlight casting long shadows across the group.

The tunnel opened into a vast circular chamber, its walls inscribed with ancient, glowing runes that seemed to hum with an otherworldly power. At the center lay the Azure Spirit Lion, an enormous, majestic creature whose fur shimmered with an ethereal blue light. Its massive body exuded an aura of primal power, and its deep, rhythmic breaths reverberated through the chamber.

One of the Phantom Assembly’s members whispered in awe, ”It’s… magnificent.”

Brynja’s eyes gleamed with greed. ”Magnificent, yes. And soon, it will be ours.” He turned to his companions, his voice sharp and commanding. ”Prepare yourselves. Strike swiftly and with precision. We take it down before it has a chance to fight back.”

The group fanned out, their movements synchronized. Gunnlod began chanting in a guttural tongue, dark energy coiling around his hands. ”Necrotic Lance!” he bellowed, unleashing a crackling spear of black energy toward the slumbering lion.

The spell struck the lion’s side, but instead of lying still, its eyes snapped open, glowing with an intense azure light. A low growl built in its throat, transforming into a deafening roar that shook the chamber. The force of the roar sent shockwaves through the room, throwing several attackers off balance.

”Damn it,” Brynja snarled as he regained his footing. ”It’s awake. Everyone, attack!”

The Azure Spirit Lion rose to its full, towering height, its powerful muscles rippling beneath its shimmering fur. With a sudden burst of speed, it lunged at one of the closest attackers, its massive jaws snapping shut with a sickening crunch. Blood sprayed across the icy floor as the man’s lifeless body crumpled to the ground.

Gunnlod’s face twisted in frustration. ”Keep it contained!” He raised his hands again, dark tendrils of shadow erupting from the ground. ”Shadow Tendrils!” The writhing black vines lashed out, seeking to ensnare the lion’s legs.

The lion’s paw struck the ground with immense force, sending a shockwave of spiritual energy that shattered the tendrils and knocked another member into a wall with bone-shattering impact. The beast’s roar was deafening, its anger a tangible force.

”Keep your distance!” Brynja ordered, his voice cutting through the chaos. He unleashed a devastating slash of dark energy from his greatsword, the blade glowing with a sinister black battle aura. The attack struck the lion’s flank, drawing blood but doing little to slow it down.

The Azure Spirit Lion’s eyes glowed brighter as arcs of blue lightning began to crackle along its fur. It reared back, letting out another roar. ”Azure Lightning Surge!” Bolts of electricity exploded outward, striking several members of the Phantom Assembly. Screams filled the chamber as bodies convulsed and collapsed to the ground, smoke rising from their charred forms.

”Hold the line!” Brynja bellowed, stepping forward with his greatsword raised. He activated a martial technique, ”Dark Fang Slash!” The sword sliced through the air with incredible speed, sending a crescent of dark energy hurtling toward the lion. The attack struck its chest, forcing the beast to stagger momentarily.

The lion’s retaliation was swift. With a flick of its massive tail, it sent another member hurtling into the wall. The impact was fatal, the sound of cracking bones echoing through the chamber. The beast’s claws glowed with spiritual energy as it unleashed a devastating attack, ”Azure Claw Rend!” The swipe tore through the air, narrowly missing Brynja but cleaving through another unfortunate soul.

Gunnlod’s voice rose in a desperate chant. ”Soul Siphon!” A vortex of dark energy formed around the lion, attempting to drain its life force. The lion roared in defiance, its azure aura flaring to life and shattering the spell with sheer spiritual power.

”It’s too strong!” one of the surviving members shouted, panic evident in his voice. ”We can’t beat this thing!”

Brynja’s eyes blazed with determination. ”Cowardice will get you killed. Focus your attacks! We weaken it together or we die separately!”

The lion’s fur shimmered as it prepared another attack. ”Azure Storm Roar!” A vortex of wind and lightning erupted from its mouth, tearing through the chamber. The Phantom Assembly’s remaining members scrambled for cover, but the destructive force claimed another life as a man was ripped apart by the storm.

Despite their best efforts, the battle was turning grim. The lion’s relentless attacks were whittling down their numbers, its mythical strength and spiritual energy proving too much for the Phantom Assembly. Brynja, battered but unyielding, activated his strongest martial technique, ”Shadow Annihilation!” He charged the lion, his blade engulfed in a dark aura that crackled with raw power.

The attack struck true, carving a deep wound into the lion’s side. The beast roared in agony, but its retaliation was immediate. With a swipe of its glowing claws, it caught Brynja across the chest, sending him crashing to the ground in a spray of blood.

Gunnlod, now visibly trembling, called out, ”Fall back! We can’t win this!”

Brynja coughed, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth as he struggled to rise. His eyes burned with fury. ”No retreat… not until the mission is complete.”

The Azure Spirit Lion stood over him, its glowing eyes filled with both intelligence and fury. It let out a final roar, its aura flaring as it prepared to unleash its ultimate attack, ”Celestial Azure Wrath.” Lightning and spiritual energy coalesced around its body, the chamber trembling under the sheer force of its power.

Brynja, seeing the tide of the battle turning against them, made a desperate decision.

”There’s no other way,” he muttered, his voice resolute as he raised his hands. Dark energy crackled around him, the shadows in the chamber twisting unnaturally. ”Obsidian Collapse!” he roared, pouring every ounce of his remaining magic into the spell.

The chamber shook violently as the spell targeted the roof. Stone groaned and cracked, massive chunks breaking loose. Above, the dungeon’s fifth floor—the Shimmering Scorpion Nest—collapsed, cascading sand, rock, and debris into the room. The Azure Spirit Lion’s roar of pain and confusion echoed as it was buried under the avalanche. It thrashed, its massive body struggling against the weight pinning it down.

Amidst the chaos, the Gilded Scorpion Queen launched a ferocious attack, her stinger plunging into the lion repeatedly. Her venom spread through the beast’s veins, slowing its movements and reducing its once-mighty roars to pained growls. The scorpions, disoriented by the collapse, swarmed aimlessly until falling victim to the carnage.

Meanwhile, on the fourth floor, the Silver Ravens Guild had just finished clearing their level. A magical surge pulled them into the unfolding catastrophe. Alaric’s sharp eyes widened at the sight of the crumbling chamber below. Without hesitation, he acted.

”Levitate!” he commanded, wrapping Rosalind, Merja, and Illona in his arms to slow their descent.

”Hold on!” he shouted, his voice steady despite the chaos. His hands gripped their waists, pulling them close as they descended.

The sensation of their bodies pressed against his was intoxicating, their curves fitting perfectly against him. He could feel the softness of their breasts, the firmness of their thighs, and the warmth of their breaths against his neck. It was a heady mix of adrenaline and desire, and for a moment, he allowed himself to savor the contact.

”Alaric, what’s happening?” Rosalind asked, her voice trembling.

”I’m not sure,” Alaric replied, his tone steady despite the storm raging below. ”But we’re about to find out. Be ready to fight.”

The guild members landed amidst the chaos. Halvard, their leader, barked orders as the reality of the situation struck him. ”Form up! Scorpions, rubble, and… what in the gods’ name is that lion?” His voice carried authority as he swung his massive blade to crush an incoming scorpion.

Alaric’s emerald eyes scanned the battlefield, taking in the sight of the Azure Spirit Lion locked in combat with the Gilded Scorpion Queen. The lion’s movements were sluggish, its roars turning into pained growls as the venom coursed through its veins. The scorpions, sensing the intruders, swarmed toward the guild members, their stingers glinting with deadly intent.

”Watch out!” Alaric shouted, casting ”Ice Wall” to block a barrage of scorpion stings. The ice shattered under the impact, but it bought them precious seconds. ”We need to take down the queen. She’s the source of the venom.”

Rosalind nodded, her hands glowing with arcane energy. ”Leave it to me. Cover me!” she called out, charging toward the queen. Her spells struck with precision, each one chipping away at the queen’s health.

Merja and Illona flanked Alaric, their weapons a blur as they cut down the swarming scorpions. Halvard and Goran fought side by side, their massive weapons crushing the smaller creatures with brutal efficiency.

Amidst the chaos, Alaric noticed the dark-cloaked figures of the Phantom Assembly members. Their presence was like a shadow, a sense of wrongness that prickled his senses. He pointed them out to Halvard, his voice urgent. ”Those are members of the Phantom Assembly. We need to take them down.”

Halvard’s eyes narrowed, a growl rumbling in his chest. ”With pleasure. Let’s show them what happens when they cross the Silver Ravens.”

The battle that ensued was a whirlwind of spells and steel. Alaric cast ”Firestorm,” a wall of flames that engulfed a group of scorpions, their exoskeletons crackling and popping in the heat. Rosalind’s ”Lightning Lance” struck the queen, the electric current coursing through her body and momentarily stunning her.

Meanwhile, the Phantom Assembly members unleashed their dark magic. Brynja cast ”Dark Tendrils,” shadowy vines that lashed out, absorbing the life force of the scorpions and healing his wounds.

Gunnlod invoked ”Necrotic Blast,” a wave of dark energy that swept through the chamber, forcing the guild members to scatter.

But the Silver Ravens were not so easily defeated. Merja’s daggers flashed in the dim light, striking down scorpions with precision.

Illona’s staff glowed with a soft light as she cast ”Healing Aura,” a spell that mended the wounds of her allies.

Halvard and Goran fought with relentless ferocity, their weapons crushing and cleaving through the dark-cloaked figures.

In the heart of the chamber, the Azure Spirit Lion and the Gilded Scorpion Queen fought with primal savagery.

The lion’s massive paws struck with devastating force, its spiritual energy leaving deep gouges in the stone floor.

The queen’s stinger struck again and again, injecting more of the paralytic toxin into the lion’s body. The beast’s roars turned into pained growls, its movements growing sluggish as the venom took hold.

Alaric, seeing the lion’s plight, cast ”Purify,” a spell that sought to neutralize the toxin. The lion’s body convulsed as the magic took effect, its eyes rolling back as it fought against the venom. The queen, sensing the shift in the battle, redoubled her efforts, her stinger striking with renewed ferocity.

Rosalind, seeing the lion’s struggle, cast ”Arcane Barrage,” a volley of glowing orbs that struck the queen with devastating precision. The queen staggered, her exoskeleton cracking under the onslaught.

In the center of the chamber, Brynja saw their predicament worsening. The Azure Spirit Lion, despite its injuries, continued to thrash against the scorpions and rubble. Brynja turned to his remaining allies, his voice a harsh growl. ”We’ve failed. Destroy the dungeon and bury everything! Now!”

Gunnlod, blood dripping from his mouth, hesitated. ”Brynja, that’s suicide. We—”

”Obey me!” Brynja snarled. He and the surviving members began chanting a combined spell. The air darkened as their black magic swelled, targeting the dungeon itself.

Above, the walls and ceilings of every floor groaned under the pressure. Cracks spidered across the stone, releasing a deafening roar as the entire structure began to collapse. Sand, rock, and debris rained down with terrifying force.

”The entire dungeon’s coming down!” Halvard bellowed. He raised his greatsword, smashing falling boulders. Goran swung his mace, fending off the deluge. But the sheer scale of the collapse overwhelmed even their formidable strength.

Rosalind, Merja, and Illona quickly erected a barrier, the magical shield glowing brightly against the onslaught. It held firm, but the shockwaves from the falling floors were too great. The three women collapsed to their knees, unconscious from the strain.

Alaric, caught too far from their barrier, found himself exposed. He dodged falling debris with agility, but his luck ran out as a massive chunk of rubble hurtled toward him. The chamber shuddered one last time before going eerily silent, save for the settling dust and faint groans of survivors.

When Alaric opened his eyes, he was stunned to find himself unscathed. Around him, the devastation was total. His companions lay unconscious or gravely injured. The Phantom Assembly members were either crushed or gone, with Brynja’s ominous absence indicating his escape.

Above him loomed the massive form of the Azure Spirit Lion, its body shielding him. A glowing barrier surrounded them, faint but unmistakable. The lion’s once-majestic frame was now riddled with wounds, blood pooling beneath it. Its breaths came in labored gasps.

Alaric stumbled to his feet, his voice trembling with awe and gratitude. ”You… you protected me?”

The lion’s golden eyes glowed faintly as it regarded him. Its voice resonated in his mind, deep and weary. ”I repaid a favor, little one. You tried to save me from the venom. Consider this my thanks.”

Alaric dropped to his knees, hands glowing with healing magic. ”Hold on. I can heal you. Just stay with me.” He pressed his hands against the lion’s massive side, pouring his energy into the effort. The wounds closed slightly, but the lion’s strength continued to wane.

”Stop,” the lion said, its tone firm despite its weakness. ”It is too late. My injuries are beyond repair.”

”No!” Alaric’s voice cracked. ”There has to be a way. Tell me what to do. I can… I can find something, someone…”

The lion chuckled softly, a rumbling sound that held both amusement and sadness. ”Your spirit is admirable, young one. But my time has come. Listen to me carefully. When I pass, you must extract my blood essence and spirit. Assimilate them into your body and magic core.”

Alaric’s eyes widened in shock. ”What? No! I can’t… I won’t…”

”You will,” the lion interrupted, its gaze unwavering. ”Through this, my strength will live on within you. And one day, when you have grown strong enough, you will have the power to revive me. It is the only way.”

The lion’s words were laced with urgency as it began imparting knowledge directly into Alaric’s mind. Complex rituals, ancient incantations, and the precise methods of extraction flooded his thoughts.

”You must grow quickly, Alaric,” the lion whispered, its voice fading. ”Do not let this power go to waste. Fulfill this promise.”

Tears welled in Alaric’s eyes as he nodded, his hands trembling. ”I will. I swear it.”

The Azure Spirit Lion’s body shuddered one last time before falling still. Its golden eyes dimmed, and the barrier around them flickered out. Alaric knelt in silence, his heart heavy with the weight of the promise he had made.

With a deep breath, he steeled himself for the task ahead. The knowledge the lion had imparted burned in his mind, urging him forward. He placed his hands on the lion’s chest, his voice steady despite the tremor in his heart.

”I’ll not let your death go to waste,” he whispered, beginning the ritual that would change his destiny forever.
