Chapter 2052: Part 2: The Covenant Unmasked

Auction House

The guests had started returning with satisfaction. Only a few of them were left right now. But the sudden alarm sound spoiled everything.

The guests who were waiting in the hall immediately vacated the place. Seeing that, Otto and the others were shocked and confused.

The female manager rushed into the room. She saw me and said, ”The alarm means danger. The city is facing a crisis right now. The shops and other businesses are not allowed to operate.”

”Appraiser Frank, we need to end the event as well,” she added.

Hearing that, I didn’t object. I agreed to end the event as well, because the guests had already left. No new guests were appearing.

After closing the place, we came to the manager’s room. She was playing the breaking news. Otto and the others were gathered behind me.

We saw the news anchor speaking about the killer. I didn’t expect such a big incident to take place tonight.

When the appearance of the killer was mentioned, my eyes flashed with a cold glint. I remembered seeing the Covenant wizards wearing the same clothing.

The news anchor mentioned the wizard as an evil wizard as well. The description perfectly matched the Covenant members.

The Zero puppet in its red smoke form was in the room as well. I excused myself, left the room, and went out into the corridor.

The red smoke appeared the next second. Before it could transform into its original form, I started giving orders.

”You saw the news as well. Go and collect information about the killer. Don’t engage with him. I only want information,” I said to the puppet.

Swoosh!

The Zero puppet in its red smoke form left the place.

My eyes filled with seriousness. Things were happening differently in this city. Unlike in the previous cities, the Covenant wizards were not only attacking businesses in the city, but they were also killing people.

So far, I had been watching from the sidelines. I had watched things develop to this stage. I didn’t know whether it was okay to intervene.

Otto exited the room and came to see me.

”Master, the City Lord is saving the burning buildings. It’s being broadcast on the news,” Otto said to me.

Hearing that, I collected my thoughts and went with him to watch the news. Then I saw that the City Lord was using his pressure to extinguish the flames.

”I think we should offer some help,” the manager said.

The members turned toward me.

I nodded my head and said, ”You guys can go and see what you can do.”

Hearing that, the manager sighed in relief.

”Don’t worry, I’ll take the lead,” the manager said.

She then brought the members outside. They used their flight ability to head toward the affected area.

They were going to meet the City Lord. Only he could give clear instructions to them. In mid-air, many figures were moving toward the City Lord.

They were from wizard families. They wanted to help out the City Lord. Besides, someone was clearly attacking the city, so they had to provide support to protect their families.

They needed to find the Evil Supreme Wizard as soon as possible.

Meanwhile,

Amaira stopped her activities. She had wanted to create a big problem, but she never expected this new turn of events. One of her Covenant members was exposed.

She didn’t expect him to come across the City Lord.

City Lord Robert was a Magic Lord. It was difficult to escape from him. She understood why several blasts took place. It was done using the member’s magic scroll spell.

Amaira’s eyes flashed with worry. They had planned to damage businesses and plunder wealth.

But it was not in their plan to attack the city infrastructure directly. Now that the buildings were attacked, the chances of their exposure were high.

Amaira changed her plans. She decided to meet the others. Specifically, she wanted to meet the senior member. Only he could shed some light on the situation.

On the other hand, the Evil Supreme Wizard was hiding in a different place. He didn’t expect things to escalate to such a level. He had used a magic spell to disrupt the City Lord.

But things had escalated to a statewide search now. He thought the other members must be looking for him, but he made the decision to leave the city.

If he continued to hide there, enemy support could arrive. He didn’t think about the other Covenant members.

Swoosh!

He left the place and headed toward the city.

Meanwhile,

The Zero puppet in its red smoke form had reached the city gate. It wanted to start the investigation from the gate. It knew that there was a chance for the culprit to escape from there.

It didn’t take long for the evil wizard to reach the place. When he got there, he saw a heavy deployment of guards.

Almost everyone was there. But none of them were Supreme Wizards. Their City Guard Captain was a Supreme Wizard, but he was not there.

It made things easier for the wizard to execute his plan. When he got there, he was stopped by the city guards.

Boom!

But none of them could stop him. He simply released a wave of coercion, and the mana pressure struck them.

The wizards were hit hard. Their bodies flew backward before crashing onto the ground. The city gate itself was broken and blasted away.

Boom!

It happened in the blink of an eye. The city guards were severely injured, lying on the ground with wounded bodies.

The Evil Supreme Wizard then took a look at the injured wizards on the ground before leaving through the gate.

He didn’t even inform his members. He was going back to the hideout before the others. Not long after leaving the place, he went deeper into the wilderness at night.

But he didn’t know that the red smoke was following behind him. It didn’t take long for the red smoke to block his path.

The Evil Supreme Wizard felt a sudden sense of extreme danger. He stopped in his tracks and looked around, feeling that he was being targeted by someone.
