Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1571: Part 2: Mercenary Wizards!

From MC’s Perspective:

I’m waiting inside the Gregor Mansion and ready to see who is going to come.

In the control mirror, I saw a few figures entering the place a few minutes later.

Boom!

They barged into the closed room and started looking for the suspicious people. Fortunately, the owner was not in his home.

The people who broke into the house were none other than the officials. They came out quickly and started searching nearby residents.

Cry!

The cry and pleasing voices reached my ears. My heart turned cold. The locals are part of the Merchant Association as well.

Yet the officials broke into their homes disturbing their lives. Their actions seem to be the activities of the Dark Faction more than ordinary people.

My mission was to eliminate the dark wizards. Now, I want to kill these people.

Time goes by,

The crying and pleading voices stopped after an hour. The officials didn’t make it difficult. After knowing that the place was safe. They left.

They went to search other places. The locals learned about what officials were doing. They are looking for a killer.

Meanwhile,

Head Marcel was convinced that Dark Envoy’s words were true. Their Wizards were murdered in their backyard.

But he didn’t know who had done it. He doubts the Mercenary Wizards would be able to find the killer. Too much time has passed.

He can only think of other things to strengthen their Merchant Association.

---

Both the White and Dark Faction were keeping an eye on the Merchant Association. From the elders there they learned what’s going on right now.

The Mercenary Association has provided help to find out the killer. It’s good news for the Dark Faction.

In one way, they were thankful for the killer. They have a reason to trouble the Merchant Association.

On the other hand, the White Faction were not liking it. The Female Magic Lord told the higher ups everything.

The higher ups didn’t expect such an incident to take place inside the Merchant Association.

During a time, especially, the faction wars are going on between them and the Dark Faction these days.

Now, the Dark Faction has solid reason. They will pressure the Merchant Association. The White Faction have no other way to help them.

From the Female Magic Lord, they learned that the Dark Envoy threatened to use the Fate Card.

The news must be true. So they are discussing whether to support the Merchant Association or not.

Even if they don’t get the support of the Merchant Association. They don’t want the Dark Faction to get either.

It’s only possible if the Merchant Association is in turmoil. The White Faction have decided to send their wizards to kill people in the mountain.

According to the Female Magic Lord, the Head Marcel of the Merchant Association was reluctant to form an alliance with both the Factions.

Even if the people die on the mountains, he would blame the Dark Factions instead. Even if the truth is exposed later, they are not afraid.

Targeting the neutral faction was on the list. It’s going to happen sooner or later. Now, they are going to act now.

Meanwhile,

The Dark Faction are showing a wait and watch attitude. They learned from the elders that an investigation is going on.

The Mercenary Wizards discovered the clue of dark mana. The higher ups are happy with the news.

They think Head Marcel won’t escape this time. Clearly, he was answerable. The higher ups have decided to send the Dark Envoy again a few days later.

This time they have decided to send a few more Magic Lords. If the Merchant Association didn’t agree, then their mountain range would be attacked.

They discussed the Medicine and Mercenary Association. But the higher ups didn’t care about them.

Since they are going to demand justice. These 2 factions can’t stop them. Undercurrents are surging. The upcoming days won’t be peaceful.

---

Merchant Association:

I’m staying in the old house. Since the owner was not here. I started staying here after the officials left. I don’t know why I have this feeling that something big is going to happen.

The locals are living without any worry. But if any big fights break out. Then everyone will die. The strength of the adults here are Tier-2 to Tier-3.

A few of them were able to become Tier-4 and Tier-5 Wizards. Next they join the Merchant Association to work.

I don’t know whether it’s okay to stay here for a long time. I think it’s better to find one of the Dark Faction’s strong hold. Then spend time destroying that. It will reduce the strength of the Dark Faction.

After giving some thought, I decided to leave once things settle down. Right now, the people from the outside were not allowed to enter.

It will take time for the situation to return to normal. Once everyone started moving as usual. Then I will use that chance to escape.

The following day,

The Mercenary Wizards didn’t find anything. The only clue was the dark mana. The Mercenary Wizards are thinking that the killer might have escaped that day.

There is a possibility that he took corpses with him. So they can’t find him right now. The officials have confirmed that no suspicious people have been found.

The locals didn’t know anything. They didn’t see anyone suspicious as well.

Head Marcel came to terms. He is convinced that it’s futile to look for the killers now. He then thanked the Mercenary Wizards and provided them with gifts before their departure.

In the meeting hall, the elders are divided. The purple haired elder and others were disappointed. They were hoping to share the good news with Dark Faction. It didn’t happen.

The elders who were on the side of the White Faction rejoiced in their hearts. Without Evidence the Dark Faction can’t do anything.

Their White Faction still has a chance to turn around the situation. But these elders didn’t know that higher ups of the White Faction had already made a decision.
