Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

From MC’S Perspective:

Villa,

“Miss, leave the place. I’ll stop him,” After saying that the old butler fled towards Rex to fight.

Cory’s heart tightens. But she made a quick decision. She left the place. Her maid already went into hiding. As long as she leaves the place, there will be less casualties.

The attackers will chase her. Just after she fled.

Rex shouted out loud. He gave the orders to wizards who came with him. They started chasing the fleeing in the mid air.

Boom!

“You can’t stop me,” Rex blasted the old butler from the air. He doesn’t want to get entangled with the Butler.

The old butler was injured. But he won’t let him go. He started to confront him again.

Meanwhile,

The Shadow Skull Wizards who were searching inside the commerce building immediately left the place. They received news that the target has left the city.

So one after another, the shadow figure left the building and started flying towards other members who were chasing down the target.

“Hmmm,” I raised my eyebrows in surprise. These people have left right after coming in.

Swoosh!

I appeared back in the room. Then I looked around before leaving the basement. Right after, I hear a lot of commotion happening outside.

The whole city was alarmed by the attack..I can hear people screaming outside right now. When I tried to check other rooms.

I found the pool of blood coming from one particular room. The floor was stained with blood. Seeing that I began to search the room.

The room was littered with dismembered corpses. Seeing the condition of the corpses, I almost puked. In the blink of an eye, the killers have slaughtered the wizards who are taking care of the herbal treasures.

This room has no survivors. After confirming it, I continued to check other rooms.

A few minutes later,

I came to the conclusion that only a few of them were able to escape. Then I decided to check the villa behind the building. I doubt whether she has suffered any setbacks.

Last time, she had escaped by using the trump card. I guess it will be the same case right now. Then I left the commerce building and went to the villa behind the building.

Soon, I came to the place. I spotted smoke and fire coming out from several places. It must be the result of the spell attack.

“Argh”

“Old butler, don’t die!”

“Young Miss will need you”

A grief filled scream drew my attention. When I came to the spot. I saw a maid holding the hands of a dying man.

I walked up to them. Then I fully recognised their faces.

She is the maid of Cory Anderson. And the dying old man is the butler Joe.

“Where is young miss?” I asked.

“Uh, foreigner,” The maid exclaimed in surprise.

She didn’t expect the foreigner to stay alive during the attack.

While she saw in shock. The old butler Joe still has some breath left. He opened his eyes and his gaze fell on the foreigner.

He knows that not long ago the foreigner and the young miss came from the trip. So he thought that person can be trusted. If it was earlier, he wouldn’t have this thought. But right now, there is no word from the Business Families.

They must have known yet they refused to help. Which shows it’s a conspiracy.

“Your name is Ethan right. Save our young miss. She has left the city. But I’m guessing that she will be chased down by the culprits soon,” Butler Joe said.

“She doesn’t have much time left,” He added.

“Alright,” I nodded at him before appearing in mid air.

“Beware of the smoke magic”

A voice reached my ears before I left the place.

“Smoke magic,” while flying towards the destination, I said in my heart.

It must be some weird magic of Rex. Then I fastened my speed.

Within a minute, I left the city. While flying in a random direction, I called her.

I don’t know whether she will pick her call or not.

But to my surprise, The call was connected the next second.

“Ethan, are you alive?” A tired voice sounded from the other hand.

“Where are you?” I asked back.

“I’m going in the direction of a black market. I have a contact there. The pursuers won’t dare to step in there,” She replied.

A hint of relief flashes in my eyes.

“Alright, wait for me there. I’m coming right now,”I said.

“Okay,” She replied in a low tone.

Then I ended the call.

“Phew,” I breathed in relief.

I thought she would be clueless about where to go. Fortunately, she is going to the Black Market. As far as I know there are many level-7 Wizards hiding there.

The pursuers won’t be able to do anything. Then I started to fly in the same direction as well.

Meanwhile,

Rex and others are chasing Cory Anderson. Because of her bloodline or what. Her speed was faster than the rest of them. Rex knew about this before so his expression was darkened.

“Damn it!”

“What kind of Bloodline did she have?” he shouted in his heart.

But he is not planning on giving up. So everyone continued to chase her down.

Time passed,

After a few hours of flying, Cory entered the area of Black Mark. There is still some time left before the sun rises. But the black market is still active.

She quickly followed the secret route to reach the entrance. There are 2 guards wearing masks standing at the entrance.

Cory simply gave her token. One of the guards saw the token before allowing her to step in.

When she passes through the invisible barrier. The Guards looked at each other.

“Isn’t she the young miss of the Purple Chamber of Commerce?”

“Right, it’s her!”

“She came to the Black Market without hiding her identity.”

The Guards spoke to each other in shock.

Not only them, when Cory stepped inside to check the stalls. The stall owners are surprised as well.

“What’s wrong with her?”

“She came here without hiding her identity,” The Stall owners started to discuss. But no one was hostile to her.

Because the Black Market was one of the clients of Purple Chamber of Commerce.

Her presence caused a small commotion. Which immediately alarmed the guards.

Suddenly, one of the high ranking guards walked up to her.

“Miss Cory, you have surprised us by your visit. Is there anything you want?” The guard who was wearing white mask asked.

Cory’s eyes flashes with a glint.

“I would like to meet your protector,” Cory replied.

“Protector,” The guard exclaimed in shock.

“Wait for me here. I’ll come back in a minute,” After saying that the guard left.

The Stall owners quickly calmed down and continued their work.

Shortly after,

The Guard came back and said,”Come with me.”

Corry nodded her head before following. They came to the end of the Black Market. There is a big tent which is guarded by wizards wearing masks.

“It’s the tent of the protector. You can go inside,” The guard said.

Cory furrowed her eyebrows before stepping inside the tent. There is a reason why she has come here.

Inside the tent, an old man in her eighties is sitting cross legged on a mat. She is in a breathing posture.

After sensing the visitor, the old woman opened her eyes. The old woman looked healthy even though she is old. She has a white hair and pale skin. She is wearing a black dress and mage robe on top of it.

There is a pointy magic hat on the table.

Seeing that the protector was a woman, Cory relaxed her eyebrows.

“What is the descendant of the Purple Chamber of Commerce doing here?” The old woman asked.

Cory was tense. She knows that person in front of her is likely a level-9 or level-10 Wizard. So she is extremely cautious.

“Elder, I want you to take me to the Ancient Redwood Country, back to my family,” Cory said.

A strange glint flashes in old women’s eyes.

She was not surprised by Cory’s presence here. Because they do trade with the Purple Chamber of Commerce.

But Cory’s sudden request stunned her.

“What happened?” The old woman asked.

Cory didn’t plan on hiding it. So she started to tell everything.

A few minutes later,

“Someone attacked the purple city to capture you,” the old woman uttered in a solemn tone.

She knows that it can’t be the work of unknown people. She then looks at Cory. Seeing her tensed face and considering the background behind her. She decides to help.

The old woman thinks that she can make a good deal for the Black Market and for herself with this help.

“Alright, I’ll take you to the Redwood Country. Do you have anything to prepare?” The old woman asked.

Hearing that Cory Anderson became happy. She felt a huge burden lifted off from her shoulder.

“Uhm, my employee is coming to see me,” Cory said. She doesn’t want to use the term foreigner. She knows that the Black Market may be kind to her, not to a foreigner.

“Employee!”

“We don’t have time for that. You can come with me,” the old woman said in a stern tone.

“Okay,” Cory answered with a sigh.
