Chapter 1093: Chapter 1089: Danger in the Darkness

Xiao Tian and Hayami Shiori parted ways, and Hayami Shiori set out on her way home alone.

To get home quickly, Hayami Shiori chose a path without streetlights. Hayami Shiori walked into the pitch-black alley without much thought.

Is there someone behind?

Hayami Shiori seemed to hear someone following her; she stopped, and the footsteps behind her also stopped.

”Am I scaring myself?”

Just as Hayami Shiori thought it was her imagination, three people rushed out from behind.

Two blocked her path in front, and one blocked it from behind.

”We originally just wanted some cash to spend at a night club or something, but it seems there’s something ready here after all.”

One of the two people in front said.

Robbers!

Hayami Shiori immediately realized she had encountered robbers.

What to do, what to do!

”I can give you money, please let me go.”

Hayami Shiori gave up resisting and chose to plead; she knew that pointless resistance would only make things worse.

Those three seemed not to hear Hayami Shiori at all and walked toward her, step by step.

”Don’t worry, we’ll give you a heavenly experience.”

”Let me have a go this time.”

”I haven’t tried using the other hole for a long time...”

Another hole....

Hayami Shiori dared not imagine any further; was she really going to be ravaged by the three robbers?

If only Mr. Suzuki had given me a ride home.

At this moment, Hayami Shiori thought of Xiao Tian, but she knew he couldn’t be here.

”Miss Hayami, I forgot the way back to the hotel. Could you please guide me back?”

Suddenly, Xiao Tian’s voice came out from nowhere.

People truly do hear things when desperate, Hayami Shiori had given up all hope.

”Hayami Shiori, what are you doing here? Are they your friends?”

Mr. Suzuki? Was it really Mr. Suzuki?

Xiao Tian seemed like a ray of light piercing through the night, giving new hope to Hayami Shiori.

Hayami Shiori shouted desperately: ”Mr. Suzuki, they’re robbers!”

”Bro, this woman is a bit busy right now. If you want to join us, please wait a while.”

The person blocking the path turned around and spoke to Xiao Tian.

Xiao Tian seemed not to hear anything and continued walking toward Hayami Shiori.

”I’ll give you one last chance, don’t interfere with our business!”

The robber spoke while pulling out a folding knife from his jacket pocket, waving it skillfully.

Xiao Tian still walked forward as if he hadn’t noticed him at all.

Hayami Shiori saw the robber take out the knife and thought Xiao Tian hadn’t noticed, and shouted again.

”Mr. Suzuki, they have a knife.”

”Miss Hayami, what are you talking about? Quickly, guide me back to the hotel.”

”Kid, it seems you won’t take a toast offered, but will drink punishment wine!”

The robber closest to Xiao Tian spoke, swung his right fist, and aimed for Xiao Tian, despite the surrounding darkness.

But Xiao Tian precisely judged the moving person’s position through the air’s flow and sound, took a slight step forward, and dodged it, causing the robber to fall due to inertia.

”Let’s go back, Miss Hayami.”

Xiao Tian unknowingly had reached Hayami Shiori’s side, even though he was several meters away seconds ago.

”You brat...”

The fallen robber shouted, feeling humiliated and losing reason over the botched attempt.

”You’ve really angered me, and now you can’t leave!”

The robber once again waved the folding knife in his hand; the blade reflected faint moonlight, adding a touch of terror, yet Xiao Tian acted as if nobody was around, ignoring the robber. No wonder, to Xiao Tian, this knife was like an ear-cleaning swab.

The ignored robber lost all reason and charged at Xiao Tian with the knife; the other robbers realized the severity of the situation.

”Such actions could lead to someone’s death; quickly, hold him back...”

But it was too late; the person with the knife had already rushed to Xiao Tian, the knife about to stab him.

”You should’ve listened from the start, else you wouldn’t be...”

The robber felt he had stabbed something and thought he had injured Xiao Tian, but halfway through his words, he realized something was wrong—the knife wasn’t moving?

He looked down and saw that Xiao Tian had pinched the knife between his thumb and forefinger.

Regardless of how hard he tried, the shocked robber couldn’t move the knife; it was as if he had stabbed a wall, impossible to penetrate or withdraw.

Moreover, to keep Hayami Shiori from seeing it, Xiao Tian didn’t turn but chose to catch the knife with a reverse grip using his right hand.

”Mr. Suzuki, Mr. Suzuki, are you okay, are you okay?”

From Hayami Shiori’s perspective, it seemed like Xiao Tian had been stabbed, but seeing his calm demeanor did not indicate any harm.

Things happened too quickly; the robber continued his futile attempt to pull the knife from between Xiao Tian’s fingers.

Xiao Tian focused his strength on the two fingers holding the blade and with a slight twist, shattered the blade into pieces.

The broken blade fell to the ground with a metallic clang, leaving all to ponder what had really happened.

Xiao Tian did not pause, escorting Hayami Shiori past the three robbers.

Leaving behind three robbers and a broken folding knife.

”What just happened?”

Upon reaching a safe place, Hayami Shiori couldn’t help but ask Xiao Tian.

”What?”

”What did you do just now?”

”Miss Hayami, what are you talking about?”

”Just now, what did you do? How did the knife shatter?”

”Didn’t he just drop the knife because of a slippery hand, and it broke on the ground?”

Xiao Tian had resolved to feign ignorance till the end.

”Perhaps the broken knife impacted them greatly, leading to their shock—not unlike how people react when a family heirloom is damaged.”

”Such a thing...”

Even ordinary people like Hayami Shiori knew such things only happen in TV dramas.

But Hayami Shiori seemed to realize something and did not pursue answers further.

”Mr. Suzuki, thank you. If it weren’t for you, I might have...”

Suddenly, Hayami Shiori expressed her sincere gratitude, leaving Xiao Tian momentarily unsure of how to respond.
