God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 1092: Chapter 1088: Hayami Shiori

”I’ve heard that restaurant is quite famous. Will we need to queue at this time?”

Hayami looked as if she’d won a prize.

”Actually, I know the owner there... I can ask him to find us seats if it’s just for two...”

”Two?”

”Why? Don’t you want to eat with me?”

”Why wouldn’t I? It’s just, with someone as beautiful as you...”

”Well, let’s go then.”

The sky was already dark, but Hayami wasn’t afraid of the night at all, guiding Xiao Tian through the alleys of T City without looking at a map.

After about 10 minutes, Xiao Tian and Hayami Shiori arrived at their destination, a restaurant called Sakura Garden.

This was a typical Japanese skewer shop. Only after arriving did Xiao Tian understand why it had the name. There was a cherry blossom tree at the entrance.

”Sazaki-chan, is your work finished today?”

”I’m exhausted today.”

”Let’s not talk about that now, I brought you a new customer today!”

”Hello, my name is Suzuki. I saw your restaurant online...”

”Ah, Sazaki-chan’s friend! Come on in, come on in!”

”Business is still good today.”

”So you’ll have to squeeze in here.”

The owner pointed to a small table with condiments. He quickly tidied it up, and Xiao Tian and Hayami Shiori sat down naturally.

”Just call me when you’re ready to order!”

The owner was soon called away by guests at other tables.

”Business here is always like this.”

”Let’s check the menu first!”

Sazaki said, then opened the menu on the table and handed it to Xiao Tian.

”You’re not going to look?”

”How many times do you think I’ve been here!”

Hayami Shiori laughed loudly as she urged Xiao Tian to look at the menu.

”I’ll have this grilled skewer platter then.”

”Boss———”

”Okay, coming!”

”Two platters of grilled skewers. And...”

”Two bottles of beer.”

”Alright, I’ll serve you soon.”

The owner quickly left after writing the order. It seems the restaurant is also a place to train speed, and as a special forces soldier, Xiao Tian never forgets to enhance his strength.

”Cheers———”

”Cheers is fine, but what are we cheering for?”

”Huh?”

”We just met, cheering together might be a bit.....”

”I didn’t expect you to be so old-fashioned. Cheers doesn’t need a reason. If we must find a reason, then....”

It seems even Hayami Shiori doesn’t know why they’re cheering.

After a while, Hayami Shiori seemed to have thought of something, saying.

”If we have to find a reason, it’s because cheers makes us happy.”

Hayami Shiori’s innocent smile touched Xiao Tian. Such a smile is the most precious thing to Xiao Tian. He has always been fighting, initially thinking he was fighting to protect the people important to him. But Xiao Tian slowly realized it’s not enough. Those people don’t want him to face danger for their sake. So Xiao Tian found a goal for himself: he hopes to make everyone around him smile.

At this thought, Xiao Tian’s eyes became slightly moist. To prevent tears, he drank the beer in his glass in one gulp.

”With you, I won’t give up!”

Hayami Shiori thought Xiao Tian was competing with her in drinking capacity and also finished her beer in one go.

Two people who just met laughed and chatted over drinks and food.

Unknowingly, Xiao Tian and Hayami Shiori finished two bottles of beer, but finding it insufficient, Hayami ordered two more bottles. Although this was as easy as drinking water for Xiao Tian, he pretended to be drunk to avoid arousing suspicion from Hayami Shiori and others nearby.

”Suzuki, let’s keep drinking.”

At some point, Hayami Shiori started calling Xiao Tian Suzuki, without adding Mr.

”Alright.”

To go along with Hayami Shiori, Xiao Tian had no choice but to continue drinking beer. But by then, Hayami Shiori was already slumped over the table, drunk.

After paying the bill, Xiao Tian asked the owner for ice water to help Hayami Shiori sober up.

”Sazaki-chan is like this every time, I’m fine. Just hope she doesn’t run into any bad people.”

The owner said while looking Xiao Tian up and down.

”Young man, you don’t look like a bad person, I’m entrusting Sazaki-chan to you. Don’t have any bad intentions.”

Having said that, the owner quickly left again.

Just have to get her home, Xiao Tian thought.

Looking at the sleeping Hayami Shiori, her innocent baby face, delicate skin, and light makeup revealed both purity and maturity.

”Miss Hayami, wake up, it’s time to go home.”

Predictably, no response.

”Miss Hayami, Miss Hayami———”

Xiao Tian glanced around slightly, everyone was laughing and chatting, seemingly no one noticed Xiao Tian and Hayami Shiori’s situation.

Xiao Tian quickly used the fingertip of his right index finger to tap a point on Hayami Shiori’s neck. This point can promote blood circulation; with a bit of Inner Strength, it can achieve sobering effects. But because this point is near the main artery, normally, with Xiao Tian’s control, even if exerting force wouldn’t harm Hayami Shiori. Yet, he was unusually cautious this time, using only half strength.

To confirm the effect, Xiao Tian tried waking Hayami Shiori again.

”Miss Hayami, Miss Hayami————”

”Huh?”

Although the effect wasn’t great, it indeed worked.

”Miss Hayami, it’s time to go home. You’ve had too much to drink.”

”Huh?”

”Oh, oh, I should go pay the bill.”

Seeing Hayami Shiori get up and head towards the counter, Xiao Tian quickly stopped her.

”Don’t worry, I’ve already settled it.”

”Is that so? Then I should pay you back my share.”

Hayami Shiori spoke while taking out money from her bag.

”No need, no need. Consider it a thank you for showing me the way, and besides, the food here is delicious and cheap, it’s no big amount.”

”Since you say so...”

Xiao Tian guided Hayami Shiori to the entrance, although it was summer, the gusts of wind felt refreshing at night.

Hayami Shiori shivered from the sudden cold wind.

Xiao Tian, without a word, removed his jacket and placed it over Hayami Shiori.

”No need, no need. You’ve already treated me, I can’t let you get cold!”

Hayami Shiori hurriedly pushed Xiao Tian’s jacket away.

Seeing this, Xiao Tian helplessly said: ”Do I look like someone who gets cold easily?”

Xiao Tian firmly draped the jacket over Hayami Shiori.

In fact, this was true; Xiao Tian once executed tasks bare-skinned at a minus eighty degrees Antarctic base. Thus, this cold was trivial to him.

”I’ll wash the jacket and return it to Mr. Suzuki’s room tomorrow.”

At some point, Hayami Shiori started calling Xiao Tian Mr. Suzuki again.

”Do you really not need me to take you home?”

Hayami Shiori raised her arms like a weightlifter, implying she was fine.

”See you tomorrow then.”
